yes, but since this is not possible with the “friend” slots, it is only usefull for moving into a new region, before other spawn, and proceed to beat the crap out of them. friend slots should be enabled for this to atleast, during the early times, create space in starter slots in old areas

Aplicants are... broken or something
aside from placing the region in the applicants page, (using the starter dungeon for reference) please also place this next to members on the member’s page.
I’d also like to suggest to have a button next to members AND applicants name that links to mailing them. as it is, the ingame mailing system is an enormous hassle to use.
If this is implemented, please also allow (if enabled in privileges) for mass-messaging alliance members. basically all of them recieving the message.
however, please put a tickbox system aswell: a tickbox next to each persons name, which can be selected (again, using the mass message privilege) to send messages to.
this way one could send a message to, say, everyone in a specific region, or everyone with a specific rank, etc. IMO this should only be possible inside alliances to prevent abuse.

My latest suggestion: increase the amount of resources that can be send back and forth below lvl 40.
my suggestion would be to increase the amount to 3000 at lvl 20, and 10000 at lvl 30. also, make it count for the sender, not the reciever.
the reason i ask, is i want to help out newer players by getting them higher grades of resources/furniture, but i cant do it for free. however due to the limit placed i can help out maybe 1 person a day, and i can’t recieve from more then 1 player at a time (1k fire and done…blegh)

Not Loading?
extra info:
no pepper flash or whatever installed, just Shockwave Flash 11.4 r402
using chrome
the flash type im using is windows installed one, but ive tried with chromes build in one too, same problem
longest loading time is switching regions, but opening mountains/switching dungeons is bad too. heck, even opening a raiding page takes long.
connection = 120mpbs up/down
and im using a ssd, so thats not the problem either.

Although the game does not completely crash now, it still takes a loooong time to load (even on changing regions.) and it still locks up the browser, can’t move to another tab.

About maintenance announcements
PLEASE fix the lag that has been in effect since this patch, for some reason DO now uses 1,15gb of memory instead of 900mb, and it (shockwaveplayer) crashes every time you switch dungeons. using chrome. before the patch i could easely have a movie streaming in another window, it would still lag but only every 10 minutes for a few seconds. right now its lagging every few minutes to the point of crashing AND it crashes every time you switch dungeons or to overworld/regions

About maintenance announcements
Can maintenance announcements please be done longer in advance then within an hour before, and can they be done ingame aswell as on forums? People are getting annoyed with the amount of maintenances going on lately and most of that is because we don’t know when they happen. atleast 3-4 hours in advance forum posts with a 1h, a 30m and a 5 minute warning ingame would help alot in my opinion. maybe put a link to the forum page in it aswell, make sure it redirects to the kong forums for the necro server and the nog forums for IA/classic.

Barndobarus, alright. So, perhaps, 30 days after the Region is opened, then other players could Relocate to the new Region. To clarify, would you like to see this across the board? Not just for full Relocations, but for older players who Abandon a Dungeon, and then take a completely new one, in a new Region? Do other players have feedback on this?
it should only apply to teleporting dungeons, and not to new ones. since they come in empty. also, I like being the only 1 in a certain region to be able to raid freely without having to worry about reprisal size. closing regions until activated by spawns would disable this.

IMO, the best way for the queue to work, is to just show the total resources needed for the upgrade. those that will use this option are likely to know what it costs per level, or simply dont mind it. after having done upgrades in 3 dungeons you will know them nearly by heart.
as for the lower rooms + integral rooms (both, not combined values. aka: upgrade times for a low lvl would be for example ANY room until (and including) lvl 11. INTEGRAL would be say, den up to lvl 16. mine until lvl 16. basically, any room upgrade until the point of needed for a new tier room. (vault until 16 for portal room (which should have increased speed time until lvl 11 (as far as i know atm it doesnt need X lvl for new room unlock while i have the tech)
I hope this makes sense, will check back in a while.

thank you for responding so quickly at this moment. however, this should have started yesterday.
In either way, yes a queue will help, or maybe simply implement an option “increase 5 levels” for old cost + time. this way, we can have both systems at once, and the users can choose whichever they prefer: small bonus right away, or big bonus for the old time and resource cost.

After a quick look into the game, it appears that resource costs are indeed proper now, with 1 mayor exeption. taking as an example a lvl 16 library (old lvl 4). to upgrade it to lvl 5 previously needed 40.000 gold, now it takes 20.000 PER level. meaning people have to shill out 150% EXTRA for them. this still needs to be updated, i’ve only checked library so far, but im sure the same goes for all other buildings.
Aside of this, there need’s to be a decrease in time required to upgrade. as it is now, it takes waaay to long to get buildings to a usable level, and way to many times of starting an upgrade for it to be effective.
What i’d like to suggest is to make the first 11 levels take alot less time to upgrade (higher then that i can accept it, but up to 11 is what is needed in most basic buildings before they become remotely usefull in later game). Aside this, the upgrades should be queable like troop upgrades, and if possible multiple rooms at a time. (say 3 upgrades at a time much like a non-furniture proving ground)
Another suggestion is to add a new mountain bonus to EVERY mountain in the game: for every level 10% time reduction to upgrade buildings.

the time thing was probably even more of an issue then resources, or atleast of the same proportion.

there is no way people that are used to the old system will be waiting 24 hours per room to upgrade to USABLE levels. I already never understood why rooms needed level 2 for most of the basic stuff, but atleast that was managable in a single upgrade. and you would progress in tiers with every upgrade, instead of 5! upgrades per tier, which take atleast 3 times as long to get there!

making the rooms queable is the bare minimum. aside this, multiple upgrades at the same time should be enabled aswell, for free. if that is not possible, then room upgrades should, in queue, be the same cost and time as before the update. aka: old lvl 1-2 cost if you where to queue a building from lvl 1-6. or from 6 to 11. etc.
since, by your logic, we have lesser time thus it should cost us lesser resources.

besides the functionality mentioned before, i have a few, mostly cosmetic, ideas.
1: on the overworld, when hovering over research and gold, have it display both total income, and broken down per dungeon. (maybe do the first after 2-3 seconds, and the latter a after holding the mouse over it for ~5-10seconds.
2: allow the alliance chat to be re-sizable in custom format. at the moment, if the screen is small, its too small to keep up with if there are multiple alliance members talking. however, when it is on large, it can become hard or impossible to select some game related buttons (f.ex.: attack button on raiding screen, various buttons on overlord assistant screen, etc.)
2b: if the chat size can not be changed, maybe we can be allowed to change its location to be at the bottom OR at the top, depending on user preference. this should also be included IF size is changable to be honest, id love to put it like kong chat on the side of my screen.
3: allow the alliance leader to set custom colors in chat for member ranks. say i want my members to have regular white chat, but my commanders to have orange chat, which is alot more noticable. this would allow me, and members, to more easely identify who is talking.
3b: maybe instead of leader allow everyone to edit at will, and have it saved in local cache.
4: while on alliance chat: at the moment the you can only use the arrow button in the chat to scroll up, but not scroll down. to do that you have to drag the sidebar, which usually goes too fast. please fix this. (i am on chrome, not sure if it is related to that)
4b: also make it an option wether to scroll the chat down as soon as someone talks, or let it stay where you are. this to allow easier ways to read back on chat if one has been afk for a while.

to be fair, seeing as the starter pack had 25 tiles + 3 goblins, and still has this (reportedly) on the other server(s), it should be the same here. either that, or make the tile/1 goblin pack alot cheaper, since there is absolutely no advantage to buying the starter pack, or each part of it induvidually. the entire reason most of us (beta)players bought the starter pack was because it offered 3 goblins and 25 tiles for the same PRICE as 25 tiles1 goblin.
To my understanding, when we last talked about this on the kongregate chat, you where saying you would ask for a price reduction from the staff on that starterpack. this was however, not what i meant. the price is fine, the contents are not. the previous deal was a good one, and it should stay that way.
what i COULD understand is if you where to say, at a later point (for example, a christmas event) you would offer ANOTHER +1 or +3 goblins permanent in the store. And yes, i’d buy those aswell. Heck, it would be a good deal, as long as they where not too expensive. (definately stay below the 100 DM price, 75 would be perfect imo) the limit should be 1 time per dungeon, however they should also be able to be applied to the dungeons that had the +3 starterpack.

How to Stay Safe
Hello everyone, I’m Magnitudem, or Mag for short. I’m the leader of =MS=.
Currently, I am the regent of Raven’s Gulch. What does this mean? Quite simply put, I’m working on getting the area to be MS dominated. This means no tolerance for alliances other then MS, unless an alliance is created with our aproval. If an alliance DOES surface without our approval, there will be no peacetalks, but rather a straight out war.
as Raven’s gulch gets up on its feet, people grow stronger. You have the chance to join MS, as long as you meet our requirements. If not, its currently safer to be alone then with others, reason being the MS policy is to not attack solo players, but only those in guilds. This will remain the policy until a region is fully established, meaning not a single dungeon has newbie protection anymore. Once that time is over, anyone is fair game. I suggest that by that time you either have a strong defence, joined us, or find something else that works.
Please note we are not against people being in an alliance, but we DO want to control certain regions. A solution for people not meeting requirements of MS, but wanting an alliance might be coming in the near future.

i have experienced the bug darkb34 has aswell from time to time. it seems its merely a display issue, but an annoying one.
basically, you craft an item, say an elemental cube or a storage crate, or something like that. it goes and nicely finishes, then you try to place it. you open the menu, and all of a sudden you have X of that furniture, or rather so it wants you to believe, by displaying (usually) a number between 5 and 10. however, once you try to place it, usually only the “real” one will get placed, and after that it will trigger an error until you reload. however, in rare cases it won’t place ANYTHING at all, untill you reload, and when that happens i also have gotten (but not all the time) that the piece of furniture is getting “recrafted” (timer for crafting is back, even although it should have finished already)

Dear mr/mrs,
I am an avid player of your recently brought into beta on kongregate game “Dungeon Overlord” and ______ of the alliance __________. My ingame name is ______, and my Kongregate name is the same.
Currently there are two very annoying things in the beta, which are the following:
1) Alliance editing is broken
It is currently impossible for me, my alliance members, aswell as other alliances to edit, kick and accept members. This means we have basically no control over what is going on inside the alliance.
The picture of the edit button next to a member’s name is not avaible, and while before it could still be clicked to edit, at this moment it does not respond to anything.
The edit permissions button is there, but when clicked does not respond.
2) Alliance chat is broken.
The alliance chat has not worked properly since the first day. Although it is visible, and can be opened, no messages come through or go out for any member.
My last question is one in two-fold: When is the server expected to go out of beta, and when are these bugs likely to be fixed?
I understand that it might not be possible to give an exact time, but a timeframe would be very much appreciated.
