Looking for somebody who has experience with coding for iOS who can help me with at least one project, possibly more if the first goes over well. Looking for somebody who works incredibly fast.

Please let me know immediately if interested.

Topic: Kongregate / About Kong Plus

1. Yes.
2. The best feature is just being able to make your own chat rooms. I see buying K+ as more of as a good way to support Kongregate that has a few perks along with it. K+ won’t drastically change your Kongregate experience, I promise you. Having priority customer support is also a nice little perk as well.
3. Unfortunately, not. But I promise you the default ones are plenty!

never use your badge account on the forums because the mods ban for minor offenses

If you act like a jerk, then perhaps. I haven’t had personal experience with being banned for “minor offenses.”

There’s a decent amount of people here from when I joined (Mid-early 2008) and a handful who have been here from 2007 or earlier.

Topic: Collaborations / I run a Game Review blog and I'm looking for Developers to work with!

Hey guys, my name’s Brandon and I run a Kongregate-orientated flash game blog called Kongregate Collective Guides. The blog focuses on releasing game reviews and guides on a regular basis as well as posting articles about community content when appropriate. The blog was originally launched in 2007 but was relaunched in December 2013 and has gotten more views in this month alone than compared to any other month time-frame in the blog’s history. KCG has gotten over 14,000 views this month, in which over 10,000 of them are unique visitors. Going by the trends it’s also expected that KCG will only continue to grow and that view count might double, if not more, by next month.

I’m really looking for Game Developers to form a partnership really. KCG receives a fairly high volume of traffic for a fan-blog and as such that can mean a lot of traffic seeing a review, or guide, about a flash game you’ve made.

There’s no money involved in the type of partnership I’m looking for. I would like to form a mutual partnership where we either create a favorable review about your game, or a guide, or even both, so long as you have a link to that post on KCG somewhere in your game. You can find an example of them in the game I made, Survival Idle (Please note that depending on when you click that link the game may or may not be relaunched yet. Relaunch is scheduled for early january.) It can be a little “Walkthrough Here” button, or perhaps a “Reviewed on KCG” splash. It’s really a situational type of thing, and it’s a win-win. People visit KCG from your game, and people on KCG who might have not heard of your game can check it out.

Please note: That this is an open offer for developers of ALL levels of development, whether you’re a small developer just starting off or a developer with a series of well-known games. Also note that even though I used the phrase “favorable review” if your game really is poorly made and just required no effort to make as a whole I can’t stretch the truth THAT far. Within reason.

Topic: Kongregate / What is the franchise with the most games

Not sure if you would count this as a series, but all of the game featuring the well-renown “Elephant”.

This is the only level
This is the only level TOO
This is the only level 3
Achievement Unlocked
Achievement Unlocked 2
Achievement Unlocked 3
Elephant Quest
Elephant Rave
Run Elephant Run

That’s 9 Elephant series games all with badges.

The “Find the Difference” series by DifferenceGames.

Dreams
Little Red Riding Hood
Museum of Thieves
Moonlight Differences

4? Not too shabby.

Topic: Kongregate / What is the franchise with the most games

The “Bloons” game series.

Not all of them have badges though, these have badges:
Bloons TD
Bloons TD 2
Bloons TD 3
Bloons TD 4
Bloons TD 5
Bloons Super Monkey 2

So 6 all together.

Epic War, which has 5 games is also up there.

EDIT:

Actually, the “Protector” series, which has 6 games with badges:

Protector
Protector: Reclaiming the Throne
My Pet Protector
My Pet Protector 2
Protector IV
Protector IV.V

Not to mention there’s 3 or so games in the series without badges.

EDIT2:

Epic Battle Fantasy series is somewhere up there with 4 badged games in that series.

Topic: Kongregate / Kreds sales

There won’t be kred sales for one reason and one reason only: Kongregate will be spending more money than they’ll be getting.

You have to remember that Kreds are a currency. I’m sure I wouldn’t hear you ask there aren’t sales for you trading in your USD’s for GBP’s, so why would this be the case for Kreds? Roughly 75% of a kreds value goes to a developer. The other 25% goes to Kongregate. BUT this is only the case when you buy the lowest amount of kreds. As you purchase more kreds Kongregate gets a lesser and lesser percentage of the profit, I think they get as little as 15% or maybe even less when you spend the most that you can. Then you also have to take into account all of the processing fees dealt with for the transactions of Kreds and the fact that Kongregate gets a massive amount of profit from Kred purchases. All in all, if they had a kred sale they’d be setting themselves up for disaster— even a small one such as 5% or 10% off.

Topic: Kongregate / Apparently telling people how to use alt codes is against the rules

It doesn’t matter. If someone teaches someone how to use a gun, is it their fault that their student becomes a serial killer?

Honestly, I wasn’t there so I can’t say who’s right or wrong.

But typically if you show people how to use alt codes to dodge the chat filter you’re going to be considered wrong by the mods no matter what.

… , gave an example of what it could be used for (filter dodging), …

The second you basically show somebody how to do it you’re encouraging it.

“This is exactly what you need to do to dodge the chat filter, BUUUUTTTTT you really shouldn’t do it.”

You still showed them how.

Telling people how to use alt codes isn’t against the rules.

Telling people how to use alt codes for the purpose of getting around the chat filter, however, is.

Stop trying to make yourself sound justified in whatever situation you were in.

The changes on Kongregate are only result of a change of where the money is in the game development market.

I think Single Player games can be just as addicting. I think P2W games are only addictive if they’re only, or are actually fun. (See Super Monkey 2).

If you’re having trouble with the loading screen or with the servers list showing up clear your cache. A lot of people are saying “refresh until it works”, but if you don’t feel like sitting there refreshing for 10 minutes just open your browser settings and clear your cache. You might have to close the tab you have the game open it, clear your cache, and then re-open it though.

I’m actually hoping that I’ll be able to get this game released by the 23rd, as I’m currently still in the testing phase and the game is nearing completion.
