actually, if you can get a certain amount of planets under control of one empire, you c an get that empire's 'uber ship', and most of them have incredible fire rate on EVERY SINGLE weapon. (I MEAN every single weapon). You can fight the cubes by building a station in that system then destroying it once it's built. Once there's no stations left, an army of cubes arrive.
