Could you clarify on the slots? Does that mean that on every 30th day we will get a unique/legend? If so, when is the next one?

Quick Deck Advice?
Red boots only cost 4, and i use them to tank when the explorer gets low HP. I did have a deck using bookworms also, but i found it hard to get the right monsters I wanted consistently :/ i get over the ranged deficiencies by bursting through them. Green bow is 2 and bracers are 3 so its not expensive imo. and I hated the bookworms cause of their 20 hp :( Also I only have the grey staff and that and my dagger are like last ditch damage boosters, seems too expensive to run in the middle of a fight :/

Draft Packs
I started this game a long time ago, opened it, played 1 game, thought it was crap, closed. Along comes the free 3 draft packs from Christmas, and I come back to find that at lv 1 I ‘started’ with 3 draft packs. People probably just did the same thing as me, opened it up once for a lil bit a long time ago. Just a thought. You aren’t supposed to start with draft packs though, thats for sure.

When to use my Draft Packs?
So it’s draft pack sale week and im stocking up… Should I use them all now, or wait until its guaranteed rare week or something? Will these weeks come often or not?
Also, I’m only lv 75. Maybe the cards ill get from drafting will be more useful to have now rather than go without for a few weeks? Im not sure. Any ideas?

Orange is usually rarer than other drops, or can only be gotten from brawls/zone bosses. Or so it is said.

Server overloaded or can I just not get on
Hi, every time i try to log on during a certain time of day (from around now to about 4 hours time) I can never get into the game and I get the stupid server down for maintenance message, but people are playing fine and talking in the chat box. Could it be a firewall problem or something? Im on a computer at my local library and i think it might be something to do with that. Its not flash player i think, other recent games work fine.
Or are the servers just always full at this kind of time? no matter how many times i refresh I never get in ever :(
Anyone got any idea what I can do? like I said i cant just refresh so idk.. :( please help.

Questions on Mechanics of Farming/Random Encounters (please read!)
for some reason this keeps repeating my first paragraph over and over again..
I started playing the game yesterday and I want to confirm some things about farming… Bear in mind i’m only in zone 1 and everything I say may have already been said somewhere, but I couldn’t find it. Anyway…
(note that this is for the players who value their time more than their energy; in terms of the time you will spend playing each session this will increase it depending on how lucky you are)
The best way that I have found to gain gold/xp per energy (NOT per time playing) is to take advantage of random encounters. Because they give a better gold-energy ratio (anywhere from 15-25 gold per energy) and almost all zone 1 enemies give 11 gold per energy, it seems more efficient to farm random encounters for gold.
Also, some of the zone 1 encounters reward with 10xp, not 8. This means the xp to energy ratio is 2, which is higher than the 1.6 of everything else in the game in my limited experience.
So to sum up, if you have the time to do it, farming random encounters is more efficient for gold/xp. I think.
It also seems like the chance of finding random encounters decreases the longer you stay away from quest battles. But im not really sure about this one.
Aaaaanyway the point of this thread was for me to find better ways of getting xp/gold. Could anyone give advice? Will higher zones give better gold/xp per energy?

Trade wanted for Tier 8 Wand
http://forums.wildshadow.com/wiki/realm-mad-god/equipment
^^ That. Shows tiers and enemies that drop them.
And yeah, he’s right… Just advertise trading in the nexus itself. Not that most people will want to trade with you, but it’s better than all the people saying ‘SELLING BLUE STEEL DAGGER FOR GOLDEN ARMOUR PLZPLZPLZTRADEMEMEMEMEMEMEMEME’ etc etc.
Longer you play the more you’ll learn.

Buying gold with fame
Gold really isn’t that necessary at all. Save your fame for an Amulet, and it will get you far, far more in-game benefit than coins could.

How do i sell stuff
Gold is not at all needed to play the game to the fullest. It’s just there to make you look pretty… If you like the game enough, support the developers. It’s a FREE game. Not a crappy freemium game like the majority of multiplayer games around. If you don’t like it, don’t play it. It’s not that hard.

[Guide] RotMG Kongregate Community Guide?
Best advice from a veteran player:
You die. A lot. Go into ESC options and change your nexus hotkey to CTRL, TAB, F, or something else easy to reach. It is the single best thing that will save your life.
Until you learn to dodge (and you NEED to learn to dodge) play Priest, maybe Wizard, maybe Archer, maybe Necromancer. Rogue is hard, Warrior/Knight/Paladin suck without good equips and stat potions, and the rest of the classes are generally inferior. Mystic is very hard to use well, Sorcerer needs to be potted to be effective, Trickster is pathetic and Assassin’s use is situational, now less so that Pentas have been moved out of water.
But my #1 tip: Use the WIKI.
http://forums.wildshadow.com/wiki/realm-mad-god
Particularly note the Equipment and Classes section. Item tiers determine their value; items are tiered from T0 to T12, and ANYTHING LESS THAN T8 IS WORTHLESS. Don’t hoard it, only collect for the class you have and possibly the next class you plan for. The borderline of tradable value is T8 weapons/armour, T4 (Paramount) rings, and T4 Ability items. Because the games trading system is entirely player-to-player, items below these have next to no value and you will have a hard time selling them. Also, it annoys people who are trying to sell/buy items of tradable value.
From there, practice, a lot. Don’t go near the Godlands before level 15 or so. Try to find a large group of people running around on its outskirts. You run faster on roads. Further inland generally means harder monsters.
Follow the quest markers on your screen, they give the best experience, particularly Ent Ancients.
That’s about all I got for now.

Guide To Group Battles/Levelling
At lv 1-10, look for groups on roads, particularly fighting big green slimes and the Ancient Ents (with the grove of pink trees). Past lv 10 look for groups in the Godlands (white snow and dark grey mountain areas in middle of map) as XP is limited to 10% of your total XP bar so Godlands arent time-efficient til higher levels. To get loot the best idea is to attack something most others arent and focus on that as long as you can. To qualify for item drops you only need to do about 180 damage on most gods (18% for almost all units) so try and reach that quota on 1 enemy at a time rather than not getting close on any.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Ohohoh, but you werent there while it was happening, and it never happened to you. You don’t know what it feels like :P
…It’s not a perfect solution and they will probably change it.. Build 119 (latest one out last week) is extremely unpopular and that’s not great for the game.

how do you sell?
The game doesn’t really have a currency. Higher level trades use def pots (stat increase potion) as a currency; you can’t sell anything, only trade it around. Gold is the ‘member’ currency, it is only used for convenience and aesthetic stuff like clothes, dungeon keys, pets, vault slots. Gold can only be obtained with real money/Kreds. It’s not needed at all to play, but if you want to support the devs or just look cool thats what its for.

[Aetheron] What makes me so sad
…about this game is that it had such amazing potential. During my first half hour of playing the game a few months ago I remember it as being awesome fun, instant 5/5 perfect game. There was so much to do, new cards every few minutes, and you felt like there was a purpose at every moment of the game. It was wonderful, really. I thought I’d found my favourite flash game of all time right then and there.
But as I played on I lost interest fairly quickly. What was once an exciting, fast-paced, fun game became a boring, drawn-out grindfest where each battle is a repetition of a series of card plays over and over followed by a 5-10 minute wait for your hp/mana to recharge. The player is drawn between the difficult choice of maxing hp and offensive skills for better effectiveness but longer wait, and skilling mana at the expense of more difficult battles.
Now, I haven’t played this game for a few months now but I’m hoping there is some key idea that I am missing. I saw this game in my absent-minded Kong wanderings and figured I could give it another go. What is it that keeps you people playing this game? What did you do to get over the giant hurdles this game produces to keep itself from becoming good?

Sustainer Xolans
Weird card, too slow before the patch but could work in some kind of stall defdeck.. maybe. add in some blood walls, most offenses don’t use a lot of high-power cards because of fear of 1drop stops meaning 2-armor cards in a lot of off decks. Just a thought.

Suggestion: Just make Defense wins earn less points.
If surrender were 5, the only attackers who could ever lose a war would be those with less than 1/5 win, or those who auto’d. Then we’re just back where we started .

Yes, it does prove that you are either a Troll or Stupid.
