Most Browsers Update The Flash Version Automatically. I Have Never Bothered With Installing Newer Flash Version In Chromium, It Simply Updates Itself And I’m Uptodate Always.

No, You Can’t. As much as I know, the current supported ones are flash game, java games & Unity games.

But honestly, am I the only one experiencing a complete browser breakdown upon launching that game?

It Slowed Down My Whole Browser, The Game Is Lags Too Much. I Closed It After Moving That Plant Like Thing For A Few Times And Waiting 10 Minutes To See It Move To A New Location.

If You Want To Just Remove It From There Then Try Uploading A Blank .swf File Instead Of It. It Might Not Get Removed But At least People Won’t Be Able To Play It.

I’m on XP with 2gb of RAM, and just the OS uses a bit more than 2gb of RAM, more than I have.

Gamebuilder, I think that you can use the engine for commercial games and that is it.

Ram is not the only component that matters in a PC build. 4GB RAM is enough for playing games, if it is running really slow -there’s a bottleneck in your PC build.

You can’t convert a Python game to a Flash Game. You’ll have to code your game again with AS3 & that will generate a SWF file.

Topic: Game Programming / sound not working in nonlocal swf

You should have the sound files in your library and then play the sound from there, that way when you publish your SWF it’ll have the sound files in it too (thus making the size of SWF larger.) You can import the sound files just like you do with graphics.(not the exact same though)

“Whenever I try to convert something into a symbol I get a error that it can’t find a definition of this class in the classepad and that it will automatically generate a definition when the SWF file gets exported”

You’ll get that message every time unless you just ’don’t show it again’. You can just ignore it, it doesn’t affect you in any way.

First Off, There Are Tools That Are Good For Some And Not That Good For Others. I Don’t Use Stencyl, So It Is Not Useful For Me.

But If You Really Want A Comparison Here, I’d Say “No”. It Is Not Even That Good Programming Tool, It Is Just A Designing Tool.

No, people don’t really care that much whether you’re new or not, so you can stop caring about it. Highscores tab doesn’t compel me either. Sometimes people are busy with other things too, they’re not like 24/7 on chat —The Problem Here Is Not Whether Others Think You’re New Or Old, The Problem Is That You’re New Here So You Don’t Know How It All Works Around Here. & That’s Why You Think It’s Meaningless. Instead Of Considering That What Others Think You Should Think Like That About Yourself That You’re New And You Don’t Know Much About This Community.

I just visited the “GDR”. I found it extremely dull and dunno how you found it interesting enough to waste your time on it. No disrespect (I can understand the amount of time it would have taken to make).

Just mentioning its just a chatroom and in experience these things stall after some time. Their best time is when they start, everyone clamors to get the first glimpse, be active and then one day leave it. I suppose thats why you wasted your time on it.

I would better use the forums.

You’re wrong, GDR is really good source for help when a person needs it. Yeah, it is just a chatroom but a chatroom with fellow developers in it who can help you if you have any type of problem with your code or anything. I like it not because of the fact that it might have taken some time to make but because it is a very good place to get answers to your questions.

& about the ‘stalling’, I think it has been going quite nicely till now and I don’t really see how it can go out of developers finding or looking for help.

It’s just that posting in 15 different threads all in the past hour or two seems like a lot, maybe too much. Don’t take this as too much criticism – I don’t think you’re being spammy or anything. But if you look at all the last posters, you’ll notice that we normally have a variety of people contributing. Anyway though, nice to have a new member :^)

Disagree, you can’t post too many posts unless they are all spam. It doesn’t really matter what name stands on the last posted column, I think he’s contributing well to the forum :)

You can’t post too many post unless they are all spam? What? o_o

Thank you Epsellis. I was just not expecting such a reaction. When I have been on writer communities, when I ask for collaboration as a drawer or artist or even as a mucisian I don’t get comments like that. I wasn’t truly expecting that reaction, I very much wanted to be part of the process of creating the game with everyone, that’s what a collaboration is.

How about, instead of saying “I want to make a game WITH you” you say “Hey, I’m a writer. If you need a writer for your game I can help you” & that’s the way which seems better to ME t get your name out there. If you’re willing to help, people are going to take your help. But if you go on and say “I want you to make a game with me, I’m a writer” well it won’t work like that because a Programmer, Graphic Designer has to work more and give A lot more time to that project than you.

I Think That Many People Coming On Kongregate Have A Very Good Internet Conn. Even If Some Don’t Have A Good Conn., It Wouldn’t Take Them More Than 3 or 5 Minutes To Load The Game. Also, People On Kong Are Used To These Type Of Loading Times, But If Your Game Isn’t That good Compared To The Loading Times, People Are Gonna Rate Ir Really Low. So Better Make A Better Game And People Will Play, Rate Better, Play Again, And Wait Longer.

I’ve been programming for Approx. 2 years, AS3 is not my very first language but I like to use and learn about it more and more. That’s why I’ve been in this community for so long. :) I don’t get enough time to program my ideas, though.
