Considering how flash is stagnating, I’m not sure why you’d want to learn AS3. Better to learn C++ to target computers, or Java to target mobile.

If you try to conceal the swastika or cape it will simply move/show through whatever is hiding it.

Either I’m illiterate, or he edited his post.
Likely the former.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Gun issues updates

Yes….that is my point.
Most criminals will have a stolen gun because they are criminals.
They typically pay far less for a gun on the black market.
They pay even less if they steal it themselves.
They sure aren’t going to go to a legitimate store and buy one….because of it being very well tied to them.

Ok. That has nothing to do with making all guns illegal.

It’s not hardened steel. A simple hacksaw will cut a shotgun barrel.
A rifle barrel, too.
Shotguns are the preferred “mini-blast”.
At best, 5-8 shots vs 17. A pistol kills a person quite finely, you don’t need a powerful weapon. Again, most gun crimes use pistols.

Though I have a link below showing that it’s kind of easy to cut down a barrel, most barrels are hardened steel.

You appear to be somewhat naïve about being able to conceal a sawed-off shotgun.
To quote myself: “Of course rifles and shotguns are used in crimes, but it’s difficult to conceal them.” Then I followed up by providing a form of shotguns that are easily concealable.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NdyPi5eJHjY Ok, so it’s not too difficult to cut down a barrel.

That tiny gun you linked will literally break your wrist if you fire it one handed, and hurt you if you fire it with two hands, unless you’re some kind of giant.

You’ve somewhat missed the point.
There is the old saying: of two evils…a known one and an unknown one; go w/ the known one.
If a gun is concealed, ANYONE can be doing it….of important note: criminals doing it.
If one is openly carried, highly likely it is being done legally; therefore, by someone who just as likely won’t be using it illegally.

Are you suggesting I should be scared that anyone could be carrying a weapon? Should I go up to people and ask for a strip search to ensure they have no weapons?

To quote your “law:”
bq. In fact, if MY form of “gun restrictions” were to be enacted, the only criminals who would have guns would be those who have a death/long imprisonment wish.

I think the criminals realize that, if caught, they’re already going to be facing a minimum of one year in jail under the best circumstances. The best circumstances would be they bought one legally but had no license to possess (a pistol.) http://www.cga.ct.gov/2012/rpt/2012-R-0345.htm

When one possess a gun that’s not registered to them (except for shotguns. In my state, I don’t have to register them if not bought from a dealer), there’s already a realllllllllllllly long sentencing time. In Florida, there’s a minimum of five years, can go higher quite easily.

We can keep crazies from hot-wiring your car by making it have some form of a code for it to start…..this can be done to serious guns. Guns should be well protected from getting into the hands of the irresponsible.
So… you want to put codes on guns to shoot them? Seems highly ineffective if I have to type in a code every time I want to shoot it. duck flys by “Quick, bro, type in your code! Oh shit, that flock’s gone…”

If you are convicted of serious speeding (20 mph over), your car will be confiscated and/or you will spend a yr. in lockup
Nah, my brother was going over by 30, cop reduced it to 20, only got a largeish fine.

VikaTae, never mention the lethal testicle shots to any male you hope to have as a friend in real life. It’s kinda off-putting.

Karmakoolkid, sozzy that I changed your formatting a little to suit my llamanubbiness.

If automatics, pistols, & semi-automatic rifles aren’t practical for shooting things to eat, what guns are? Automatics, either gun or rifle are already illegal.
Pistols are often used to hunt because some hunters feel it is much more “fair” to the game than using a long distance, scoped rifle. Shotgun hunters obviously have to be close.

Pistols are not practical for hunting. They’re used by people who consider it a sport instead of trying to get food – and I’m not suggesting there’s anything wrong with it being a sport, just that if there are gun laws implemented, I don’t care about what happens to pistols. I’ve met pistol hunters before, and I’ve never heard any of them mention anything about fairness. That’s usually what bow-hunters say to me.

For birds, I use a shotgun. For deer, I use a shotgun in areas designated to be shotgun-only. That still gives me an effective range of 75 meters, although a lot of accuracy is lost, but not to the point where I could only wound the deer and let her get away.
Of course, when I can use a bolt action rifle, I do. Those jam far less and are way more reliable in sub-zero conditions.
Just to throw it out there, semi-automatic shotguns are great. I think a lot of people often forget that those are more commonly used for killing cute animals.

Automatics can still be bought legally, but a special and hard-to-obtain license has to be obtained.

The ONLY way to keep guns out of the hands of criminals is to have NO guns available to them. This logically means there would be NO guns at all…..hunting ones included. This just isn’t on the table ATM in the USA.

http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/GUIC.PDF A lot of the guns used in crimes are stolen. That source also says “most gun crime is committed with handguns.” Of course rifles and shotguns are used in crimes, but it’s difficult to conceal them.
Yes, there are sawn-off shotguns, but it’s a lot of work to cut down a barrel to 20 inches from an original 24, 26, or 28 inches. Not that I’ve tried, but it’s a piece of steel.

I wouldn’t feel too much fear with someone openly carrying a gun, but more than if they concealed it… cause I wouldn’t know they had it.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Is Religion Outdated?

@Swatllmana
When did I attack Christianity? Wut? I don’t remember reading second part.

Just because some people can live without religion, does not a) remove the ability to create the delusion, as vikaTae covered extensively on page 2, b) mean that everyone can live without religion.

Sure, I agree on those parts. Let me extend it:
a) We’ve ability to recreate the delusion, but it doesn’t mean we will (my counter-thesis)
b)

There would still be those people and dissenters.

You’ve no proof for this claim.

For attacking christianty, that was referring to the original poster. I must’ve seen your name last while writing the post, sozzy about that.

For not having proof, I was going off what karmakoolkid has later clarified about human nature, as well as vikaTae’s arguments.

If you want proof of people who are indoctrinated at an early age with absolutely no outside influence, I’ll point you to some people who have escaped North Korea while the rest of the nation (we think they do this) praises the Fat Leader.

I’m amazingly tired, is it just me, yeasy, or are you starting to change your arguments? Not all the way at this point, but you seem to be making a turn.

The point is that perhaps not as many ppl as he would like to believe are all that happy knowing someone in their vicinity has a gun….even if it is “legally” carried. This is something the pro-gunners need to understand that they might have some PR to do in this area.

I’m for some guns. I don’t care what happens to automatics, pistols, or semi-automatic rifles, since those aren’t practical for shooting things to eat.
However, I don’t like going to a movie theater with someone who’s armed with something that can kill or maim me from a distance.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Is Religion Outdated?

There was a lot of neuroscience, bullshit, and then mostly people repeating themselves to read. Lets get back onto the original topic instead of this tangent of what evidence is (I know school is mostly useless, but please pay attention when you’re nine,)

Why are you implying that I was raised to have this belief. My mother raised me to have an open mind. Allowing my to form my own ideas… you guys keep implying things… when they are often wrong.
@OP,
I’m suggesting that because you were attacking Christianity and two subsets instead of something slightly more exotic.

@Yeasy and vikaTae respectively

There’re people claiming to live without religion, so you’ve no right to claim your point as valid.
[break for formatting me being a formatting nub]

They live without religion, because they have created a belief that religion is not right for them, or a belief that there is no god watching over them and so no reason to worship such. Their brain is still creating that belief.

Just because some people can live without religion, does not a) remove the ability to create the delusion, as vikaTae covered extensively on page 2, b) mean that everyone can live without religion. Some people are just unable to comprehend certain things. Even if we discovered everything there is to know about life, the universe, and llamas, there would still be those people and dissenters. Right now, there are so many dissenters on climate change and evolution (in the south), so we can reason pretty well that there would dissenters on evolution in the ideal science-based fantasy world.

30kg to 50kg, as you stated is your goal, is a huge change. That’s almost doubling your weight. If your arms were shaking at such a light load of 30kg, I really don’t think you can do 50.
I can’t do 50. That’s almost as much as I weigh.

HA! Judaic, Islamic, and Hinduism, and especially Muslims get way more shit than christians. They arn’t immune to logic… most mormons are raised mormon from an early aged so they are conditioned to follow blindly and not to really question it. I listed 3 religions. Yes they branched out from Christianity but if I listed one, there wouldn’t be three names up there.

They get shit, but aren’t especially attacked for their beliefs by people like you who were raised as such and think they’re oppressed (even though you’re really not, as you said you had an atheist mom.)
You can put as many names up as you like, it doesn’t make subsets whole new religions, just branches from one and they share the same core beliefs.

There’s no any evidence for your claim.
Also: seeking answers / socialising / etc. =/= religion in brain.

There is evidence for her claim. When someone seeks answers but can’t find any, a common response is to make up an answer or propose an idea that can solve the problem and, in the case of at least neolithic religion, maybe provide a good deal of security too.

Frostbringer’s absolutely correct in his statements.
It’s ironic how, to get into a position of power, you have to appear as though you have morals, but it’s clear from history that most leaders have no problems bombing anyone who looks different from us.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Is Religion Outdated?

It’s irksome to me that I always see people attacking Christianity specifically, but not Judaism or Islam or Hinduism, nor any other religion.

To address what you said about Mormans, it seems many Mormans have mental conditions which make them 100% immune to reason.

Ok, the biggest problem that I have with Christians is their Hatred towards homosexuals. They wont let them get married even though it effects their own lives in absolutely no way if they are married.

I know very few christians who actually care about this. Some of them dislike homosexuality, but not to the biblical extremes. In my state, it seems that at least 51% of people don’t give a shit about whether someone’s gay or not.

Let’s also note that the piece that refers to homosexuality as an abomination is in Leviticus, which is from the original Jewish text.
“You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.”
Says nothing about a female lying with a female. I’d be all for that. I like the idea of “Swatllama’s two mommies” vs “Swatllama’s two dad’s” anyway.

Another thing that is just stupid is that when referring to the bible and who wrote it they say," God says in the bible…" I wonder if they know how ignorant that statement is. God didn’t write the bible that they are reading someone that’s probably half way around the world wrote it.

The Christian portion of the bible was written throughout the time after “Jesus’s death” and (I think) into the Medieval Era. I a portion of a documentary about bible stories that were rejected by whomever… approves bible stories? There were a lot about Jesus’ childhood that were rejected. Damn, I should try to find that to show you.

Is religion useless and outdated? Should we cast it aside for its uselessness?
Yes, of course it’s useless and outdated. It served a purpose when people were going through prehistoric times and the neolithic revolution to give security, comfort, and inspiration, but it should’ve been done away with centuries ago, cast aside by the power of reason.

We is defined as everyone :P and I did not list one religion i listed 3 you are twisting what I said make it look less credible. I dont care if you think my opinion is wrong…

No, you pretty much listed one. Mormanism and Catholicism are subsets of Christianity.
