Someone ought to make a RAMA webtoy or iPhone app, where you could rotate and zoom in on the interior of the cylindrical world, and watch the biots get on with their daily buisness, and maybe explore it in first person mode, meeting and socializing with the alien species there.

Bringing the real exploratory physical sci-fi back to the masses, in memory of Clarke.

That’s what’s happening at the commercial scene, yes. But you really ought to look into indie deelopments. Legion Saga, The Way, Nafaugar, Final Fantasy Endless Nova, A Blurred Line, to mention some.

Actually Andyflux, there have been some great developments at the Indie RPG scene all the was up to 2005. RPGMaker 2000 and 2003 mostly. Things kinda died off when RPGMaker XP was released, although some brave souls carry on on gamingw.net and elsewhere.
