Topic: Kongregate / Kreds Discussion I think the cards may have a “K” on them just like the Release 1 and 2 cards have an “R1” or an “R2” on them. But I’m not positive. Other than that, they’ll look exactly as same as the other ones. |

Topic: Kongregate / Kreds Discussion So, I totally understand the negative reaction, but the fact is – this is going to help keep the site running. This is not another step towards making you pay for everything. Which is why we’ve kept this feature absolutely and completely optional. If you are compelled to use it – wonderful! We thank you. If you are not, I completely understand – I’m not rolling in the dough either (despite what you may think). As far as the purchasing of Kongai cards is concerned – it’s more with the goal of letting newer players keep afloat than to devalue the work of more seasoned players. We’ll keep card challenges going, and in card albums there’s a distinction made between cards that have been purchased (it shows up as a ’K’) and cards that have been earned. With regards to purchasing in-game items, it may seem silly, but it’s an important part of us not making you pay for really important and necessary things. ;) There are several options as to how you use the system. You can choose to only utilize one of these aspects, or none at all. We really want to keep all the options in your hands, and make this fun for both users and developers. That has always been our #1 goal, and it will continue to be so. |

You could still dress up in costume, alast. But you probably couldn’t knock on peoples’ doors. That might be creepy. |

Topic: Kongregate / Why games workshop needs a mod From a post I just made in another thread:
That is the only really reliable way for us to take care of these issues. We don’t always (as you’ve found out) check the forums, but we check the support account every day. :) |

Topic: Kongregate / RP room #1 in need of a mod. As I said before, we've been appointing a lot of mods recently, and the last time we did, it was almost exclusively for rooms that didn't have mods! We're appointing them faster than ever before, but I agree that it seems like it's still not fast enough for some.I can renew my plea to mods to visit rooms that regularly have none, but that is all we can really do. There are a very small number of active ones dealing with a very large need, and what's more, they don't even get paid! If there are people from your modless rooms that you think would make good mod candidates, you're welcome to let us know by sending suggestions to support@kongregate.com. I can't promise these people will get modded, but I can promise we'll check them out.
We do need proof! However, we do not ban based upon screenshots, and we don't let our mods do it either. The main reason for this is that they're very easy to tamper with. Only admins can retroactively ban; we make our decisions with chat logs, and we can really only do it if you write to us (either by writing to support@kongregate.com directly or filling out the abusive user form at http://www.kongregate.com/feedbacks/new) with the name of the abusive user and the approximate date and time of the incident. |

Topic: Kongregate / RP room #1 in need of a mod. It would be amazing if we could have a mod in the RP room constantly. It would be amazing to have a mod in any room constantly. However, our mods are strictly volunteer. They have been doing a wonderful job branching out to rooms that have not previously had a mod presence, and those who have heard your plea will most likely be doing a bit more visiting and investigation. To solve the problem of abusive users who seem to suddenly reform themselves, you are welcome to go to http://www.kongregate.com/feedbacks/new, select “Abusive User” from the pull-down menu, and report abusive users to staff. Admins are capable of retroactive bans whereas mods are not. I know it’s not the same as having a regularly modded room, or a room full of users who are simply compelled to behave, but it should help immensely in the meantime. :) |

Topic: Kongregate / Is there an age limit to sign up? This is the administration’s official stance: We do not allow users under the age of 13 to hold their own accounts. COPPA (the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act) states that no website is allowed to collect information from a child under the age of 13. If Kongregate wanted to have COPPA-approved consent forms, we would have to create them ourselves and get them O.K.ed with the COPPA guidelines. We do not wish to create those forms, hence Kongregate does not issue “COPPA forms.” If a user is confirmed to be underage, their account will be permanently banned. I know this seems harsh, since it seems these users haven’t broken any rules other than being underage. But signing up for a site when you know you are too young is breaking the rules. And these are not just in-house rules. This is a U.S. federal law. If any underage user was harmed due to the information a predator got from our site, Kongregate could be entangled with lawsuits for years, and, worst case scenario: Kongregate would have to shut down. I know you like games. I hope you do! Which is why we totally want you to tell your parents how much you like the site so they can create an account and let you use it, supervised. This is the best solution we have to offer right now. I hope this clears up any questions you may have, but if you have more, please send them to support@kongregate.com and we’ll be happy to answer them. :) |
