Topic: Game Programming / Games for the people?

Jens, you genuinely can NOT expect the masses to experience the exact vision and emotion that you are trying to convey (Especially with the attitude you are having when they don’t!) How will you learn to bring more in to experience great things if you are so quick to cut them off because they don’t line up with your feelings?

You need to understand, if you are putting a creative entity out on display for people, you are GOING to have people who disagree, it’s an inevitable. The quicker you learn to drop the sense of ‘being attacked by people who just want free things’ (which may genuinely be true in some instances, but you still have to let it go) and either accept and learn from what they’ve said, or just stop taking it personally and acting like they kicked your prize-winning puppy all the way back to your house, you will be WAY better off and able to continue improving without getting your feathers ruffled by what others say about something you put time into and worked hard on.

tl;dr – Either take it in stride and learn from what is said even if its scathing, or GENUINELY stop getting offended and hurt by it and essentially ignore what is said, the latter is more difficult in the long run in my opinion.

I know when I see italics I am highly offended and it clearly creates confusion and chaos and adds bulk to the chat when words are leaning slightly to the right..

Now, bold on the other hand.

Topic: Technical Support / CHROME key detection FIX

@kilo45 They haven’t released an upgrade for the stable version of Chrome yet, the fix is currently only on the dev and beta versions.

A bit of a bummer that it’s been 10 days so far. Oh well lets hope it’s out sometime within the next 4.

Thank you very much for the head’s up Kioyoh I did not realize that would be an issue!

You can wait for the fix, but you can also fix it immediately by disabling the Chrome-embedded flash plugin, not the regular flash plugin, but Kioyoh has brought attention the fact it will run flash outside Chrome’s sandbox and may be a security issue for some.

Yep Kioyoh is right. It’s easy to disable the Chrome-embedded flash plugin, but Kioyoh has also made aware that this will run flash outside Chrome’s sandbox so there is a potential for security breach. Here’s a link to a post I just made on how to do it.

I just posted a fix for this, its because of Chrome’s embedded flash, but Kioyoh has brought up the fact that this will run flash outside Chrome’s sandbox so there is a potential for security issues.

Topic: Technical Support / CHROME key detection FIX

[Hijack by Ventero]
A fix for this issue has been released on Monday, Aug. 22
If you’re still experiencing this problem, make sure you’re running at least Chrome 13.0.782.215 (to check your version number, click the wrench icon → About Google Chrome). If you’re still running an older version, check the bottom of the about dialogue, it should display some information about the update process (e.g. if it’s currently downloading the latest version).

You should only apply this workaround if you’re running at least Chrome 13.0.782.215 and are still experiencing this problem. In this case, please also reply to this thread, so we know the issue isn’t completely fixed yet.

Ok everyone, all us chrome users have been having trouble with flash not detecting any of the keys we press.

So here is the fix:

1. In a new tab type ‘about:plugins’ without the quotes.

2. On the top right click ‘+ Details’.

3 Now the first entry on the left you will see the expanded Flash (2 files).

4. Disable the flash plugin that is Chrome-specific.
(it will most likely be the first entry of the two, called gcswf32.dll)

5. Restart Chrome and voila.
