Topic: Serious Discussion / Christians and Atheists have one thing in common.

Kegfarms, I think what Karma is trying to say is that many modern believers have interpreted the ten commandments’ stance against some types of killing – murder not being allowed – as meaning that any killing they don’t like, whether legal or not, automatically becomes murder. Thus they can then claim the bible says that abortions are against the divine commandments via this rather convoluted logic.

The bible doesn’t actually say abortion is right or wrong, but the meaning gets twisted by those who wish to use the bible for their own propaganda ends, and play with the meanings found therein – adding in concepts that aren’t actually there then claiming the whole logic chain makes sense, and indoctrinating their flock to believe this is the real meaning.

That issue is never going to go away, and you’re right in that the bible’s own stance on abortion is completely nonexistant. Karma’s saying the problem comes when people put words and meanings into the bible that were never there to begin with. However, I do disagree with him that it is a problem we can do very much about save on a case by case basis. Likewise I disagree that the bible itself is the problem.

That’s the point I have been making the entire time. At least with homosexuality the bible does mention something but abortion is NEVER directly mentioned in the bible. So people who use that as an argument are purposely being argumentative.

Where’s “Thou shalt not abort” then?

Ask a Bible-thumper; not me.

That’s the issue. Abortion is never mentioned in the bible so anybody who claims that they are against abortion due to the bible is just being a moron.

I think the point is that “thou shalt not murder” naturally extends itself to abortion…
of course, to actually say whether that counts or not, you have to first figure out what counts as a person or not.

I really shouldn’t have to do this—with Kegger there being all knowledgeable about the Bible; but, I’m guessing that this could lead SOME ppl to think abortion is tacitly actually mentioned in the Bible.

This is beginning to sound a lot like those assholes who are constantly bitching about: show me where it says this or that in the Constitution.

That’s still the same issue. None of that talks about abortion.

Because some Christians wants to ban abortion due to the bible saying it’s wrong.

The problem with that is the bible actually never even mentions abortion.

May i ask why people get banned?

You don’t even need to ask this question. Every time somebody is banned the Kong administrators post the reason why on their profile.

This is a game site for kids/young and some adults. It is not a site where you get pictures of naked body parts (taken in the shower). So now you can ask yourself why you ask for those things on Kongregate? and why you don’t ask for those things on sites where people are adults and share the same interest? The only answer I can come up with is that you are pedophile and KG shouldn’t allow people like you on their site.

Oh you’re trolling.

Some up people get turned on by feets, hands and other body parts. Don’t ask kids and young people for such pictures in a game site cause you could be seen poorly.

Ironically your profile’s age says 29. So much for just “kids” on this site.

DOTD is not a game of chance. I have zero problem with the admins intervening when obviously bogus tags crop up like that.

When the user base cannot be trusted to moderate themselves, someone has to step in. Why do you think we even need moderators and admins to clean up messes? Because people frequently cant be trusted to play nice.

Its so good when a single moderator and admin knows so much better what the people want. Its like restraining and drugging you for “your own” safety or stripping you from public rights and invigilating.
Looks like NSA got into kong.

Intelligence agencies have always dominated the internet. It’s where trainees get their practice in manipulating various systems, and where agency retirees hang out to break up any semblance of real political organizing with various degrees of “trolling.” (It’s the bullet you don’t hear that kills you; it’s the troll you don’t see that gets to you.)

What about the trolls you do see like bobby71983 who have obviously never played the game?

MadShrump, I’ll agree you with on all but the MMO rating. I don’t believe MMO ratings are fake, they don’t need to be. That genre has a ridiculously large fanbase that you probably underestimate. Kongregate is rarely the first host site for these games, and so people come from wherever it was hosted before to sign up to kong just to play that game. These people will give 5/5 to a game without much thought.

Still, if this turns out to be true, it isn’t too hard to imagine other manipulations taking place.

They also probably change the game ratings if it drops too much. Even if those ratings are legit as in a bunch of fans who use to like the game gave it a low star rating.

Yes, and Gays will NEVER be able to marry.
The owner of a NBA team will NEVER have to sell it and be banned FOR LIFE from any association w/ the NBA for simply making “racist” comments.
In life….things change.
Awareness happens.

I give your post a 6 for the effort.
