Topic: Serious Discussion / Man Beaten, imprisoned, threatened with execution, and sexually assaulted for converting to Christianity.

Hey, your way of reading Al-Qur’an is wrong. Like I said before, learn to read Al-Qur’an first. There is a connection between each verses and there is a history behind each and every one of them. Even I, who reads Al-Qur’an everyday is still afraid of translating it to English. Afraid that I might misinterpret it along the way.

I’m a Muslim and I only have one thing to say about this:

Learn to read Al-Qur’an correctly. I have never read such hateful passages or verses in it.

Say, “O disbelievers,
I do not worship what you worship.
Nor are you worshippers of what I worship.
Nor will I be a worshipper of what you worship.
Nor will you be worshippers of what I worship.
For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.”

Topic: Serious Discussion / Your opinions of Abortion

Isn’t the right to abort pregnancy is just another excuse for people to have premarital sex as much as they wanted to without having the responsibilities to take care of their future child?

Aside from some abortion because of medical danger for the future child or the mother, I don’t see the reason why we would not want to have a child. I mean, babies are cute and adorable. Just like those pink kitties. .

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why is it that, according to the Bible, God demands obedience?

1. I think it is more of a discussion of religion and the Holy Book. And I have noticed that we have different basis of religion. Therefore it is quite meaningless to continue on this point.

2. Yeah, I too am still searching for the right one but it is hard for me to find the original copy of any Holy Book. You know, the one without any revision or interpretation. Even harder is to find the history of each verse. An easier way however is to find someone as a role model of a “good person” and ask what his/her religion is. Then study their religion. And I think a good religion should include everything from hello’s to goodbye’s and from war’s to sex’s. Basically covering everything we do.

3. My sentence was intended to be more or less a rhetorical question. Sorry if it may have offended you in anyway. Free pink kitty for you.. .

Topic: Serious Discussion / Osama Bin Laden finally killed

I’m indifferent towards his death. It is both good and bad thing.

What we should to to fight against terrorism is not to kill the leader, but to kill the idea of terrorism as a good thing.

I assume by believing includes following. Case Closed.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why is it that, according to the Bible, God demands obedience?

1. Didn’t God already told us what would happen to us if we disobey God? And if God do punish everyone who disobey, then atheists would all be dead. Sure, God maybe kicked us from heaven. But God could have kicked us straight to hell.

2. Is it much of a problem to love God and not to worship any false idols? It doesn’t necessarily mean that we should pray all the time or kill everyone who doesn’t believe in God. In fact, loving God means that we pray to God as much as God tells us to, and do good deeds to others for the rest of time. Is that such a bad thing to do?

3. Hey, if you don’t believe in God, why are you still afraid of hell. How could you believe in heaven and hell and not believe in God? If you believe that hell is waiting for those who doesn’t believe in God, then believe in God. By the way, if some of us don’t go to hell, then who would accompany the devil? It would be unjust if only the devil lives in hell for eternity for disobeying God once, while some of us disobey God every single time on earth and still go straight to Heaven.

Sure, God could make the devil and human live side by side and always obey God. But that wouldn’t be perfect according to God.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why is it that, according to the Bible, God demands obedience?

I think it is because men are the only creature God ever made to have their own free will. Everything else is either just bow to God, pray to God or do whatever God tells them like clockwork. Free will is what I think as the reason why God considers man as God’s most perfect creation. And because men have free will, they can choose to believe in God or not to believe in God.

As of why we should be obedient to God is because every other creature does. And men are the most perfect creature that God has ever made. While every other creature obeys God, why should not men do the same? But men have free will, which means they can choose freely what to believe in, what to obey to.

As for the Heaven and Hell thing, it is pretty logical. If you do not believe in God, then why should God grant you Heaven? If God did, then why should every other creature believe in God as well? If God simply grants Heaven to everyone no matter what, then the world would be in chaos. People would kill themselves as soon as they knew and mankind would cease to exist.

Well, not believing in God is not a sin. It is simply a path that you chose. God already tells you what would happen and if you still chose that path, then it is your decision. It is neither wise nor unwise, simply a decision. Murder, however is a sin. Sure some might misinterpret being a martyr or a terrorist as defending their religion. The only justifiable murder in God’s name is when we are at war. Even God writes in the Holy Book the how-to of war. When it starts, when it ends, when you may and may not kill during a war. And God told us that the greatest war of all is not against some other religion or non-believers. It is the war against ourselves, the war against all the bad things that we could ever do.

By the way, if anyone should ever ask, I’m a Muslim.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why do you care if people are religious?

Is it really religion VS atheists or Christians VS atheists? Because it sounded more and more like Christians VS atheists and atheists seems to me assumed that Christians = Religions.

There is definitely something wrong with atheists and generalisation..

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why do you care if people are religious?

My point is not about social science, my point is about how you people think you could judge religion and justify that you are doing the right thing. That is insulting. Religion is a whole new logic of its own, don’t try to rationalize it with your own logic. It is different. Yes, I am aware that I am using you people. I use it with full intentions so that you may understand the feeling of being wronged and generalised. Although I am not a non-believer, I do appreciate your difference in our point of view. Sure, you think God does not exist, we do. But we’re both still need to eat, still need to sleep, right? It is not a difference that great that we should continuously argue on who is wrong and who is right. Why don’t we coexist, tolerate each other, accept our differences and do more productive things than argue?

As a note, please read this carefully. Do not generalise some religious person as everyone who still believes in religion. Non-religious people should know better than generalise all religious person as those who force their religion into you. Especially if you know about psychology. There is no scientific way for you to justify generalisation of religious person as someone who will force their beliefs into you.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why do you care if people are religious?

What bothers me the most from the non-religious people is their rightful and logical comments of a religion practice. That is the same as saying that social science is only a bunch of fake theories made out of assumptions based on unaccountable tests and samples. Religion practices is rightful and logical in their religion. Seeing it from an atheist point of view is the same as seeing with your nose or hearing with your eyes.

Just because you can’t find any logical reasoning to their practice doesn’t mean that it is right to say that they are wrong. You may keep your opinion or say it politely. We know that sometimes religion practices doesn’t make sense in a logical way. It is not meant to be understandable that way.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Rights when Dead

I’m going to comment on what you think.

1. It is not always a waste of land if you bury the dead. Besides, dead bodies are food for the soil. It is a waste though when you make a memorial tombstone or a crypt. The person who is six feet under would eventually decompose. His eyes may already in a worm somewhere inside a bird and his legs could be in the grasses. Here’s a good idea of making a memorial: Grow an apple tree.

2. Well, exhuming a corpse is not that easy. Besides, some corpses ended up on display in a museum. If I were which I am not a necrophilia, I would rather masturbate to those display than exhuming a corpse.

3. A will is a form of contract or promise. We should honor it unless we are a bunch of illiterate savages or something like that.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why is sex censored more than violence?

On the other hand, violence is already desensitised. I am wondering why but I don’t think you could do the same to sex.

On the fellatio thingy: Sure, some might love getting a fellatio after seeing a fellatio scene instead of giving one. Did violence have the same effect or the other way around?

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why is sex censored more than violence?

To men, maybe sex is considered as a physical thing. But to women, it is psychological. For men, having sex with the wrong person may end up in a couple more beer and a brawl. But with women, it is far more complicated than that.

I personally can not just point out the psychological problems since it is difficult, if not impossible, to accurately describe a feeling with words and sentences. But, since the world is made up mostly of women and sex is can be harmful to women, therefore sex is more dangerous than violence to the world.

Personally, I think sex is a very delicate matter. Because it is not just some good sport, it is how we reproduce. And who knows, maybe the baby you’re aborting next week could be the next Darwin or the next Einstein. What an opportunity cost to the world just because of some irresponsible couple if that ever happened.

Topic: Serious Discussion / Why is sex censored more than violence?

I think it is because sex may harm people psychologically and we do not have psychological remedy yet. Besides, not everyone knows about the responsibilities that comes with sex.

(if you’re asking me what kind of responsibilities that comes with sex, then it would be better if you don not do it)

Well, I think life is one of those things that you simply couldn’t “buy back”. So even if every second brings more pain, you should treasure it. Because you wouldn’t have any idea how you are going to miss it once it is gone, right?

Topic: Serious Discussion / Copyright doesn't make much sense right now.

Well, copyrights should not only ensure the creators profits from their work, but to be the one who profits the most from their work. Artists may only earn nickels and dimes while corporations earn bucks. Now, that ain’t right. I’d rather steal their work and mail them the money they should earn.

Topic: Serious Discussion / AX- Global warming, overpopulation, and oil is running out. We have machines that can make a similar planet habitable, but we cannot reach it yet. We have 30 years to reach it What do we do?

I found a better, yet cruel suggestion. Send a lot of humans in cheap shuttles into outer space, just hoping that at least one shuttle could survive out there. We send enough out there so that any resources left on earth is enough for the people left on earth to “fix” earth. Then maybe after the earth is “fixed” we could radio back any shuttle that survives.
