However, I do know it involved a guy entering a haunted house, which had a blue tint on most things. There was a staircase to the left leading upstairs, which I remember. I believe it was point ’n click, the protagonist had to explore the house. I tried searching for it before but I couldn’t find anything. Thanks for the help if you can.

Could be Maniac Mansion? Classic point-and-click, haunted house with an upward staircase to left in the first floor of the mansion and I believe I recall one version of the game using a lot of blue shades. The game has been ported to numerous systems over the years, so that aesthetic may change with different releases.

Well my other one was never discovered by whatever, here’s a new one. This isn’t really a game, more of a game making engine. It was a game builder than was pixel-8bity, but could be made, with detailed art, into something better. You made all the components, the sprites for characters and objects(in a little pixel maker thingy where you decide the size and make it pixel by pixel.)And choose what it can do/does, and make different sprites for up down etc. movement. It was not downloaded, completely in-browser. I have been looking for over a year.

Maybe RPG JS? Graphics are more 16-bit era and the interface looks like the RPG Maker series. I’m not completely sure the process of creating the game doesn’t require some download, but the games created with it are meant to played in your browser.

At the end of every level there would be a boss. You can duel other people or co-op AI. Help please! The game is on Kongregate.

Not sure on the details of your post, but a multiplayer incarnation of Epic War exists and seems to meet some of your criteria. Epic War Saga is the most multiplayer transition of Age of War that I know of.

Area Zero is a 3D first person shooter, both criteria the OP was not looking for. I assume “sky view” means a top-down shooter. It sounds familiar to me and I’m rather curious myself, so if anyone else knows the title…

My favorite part is where you misspell ‘T.S. Elliot’, ‘Dotoevsky’ and ‘Jean Paul Satre’, simply because that’s the only aspect of your posts where you didn’t intend to be a dumb ass, and yet you manage to be. At least you cited good authors, saving Chad and André, of course.

Trying again… please, if anyone knows this game, speak up! It’s a Flash game out there somewhere!

You control a team of four (I think) people; the leader is an Arnold Schwarzenegger clone (even speaks in an Austrian accent, if I recall), I think there’s some big heavy weapons guy, a lighter framed guy, and a woman.

The gameplay focuses on ordering your units to move up to elements of cover, like large boxes and containers, and then engaging the enemy. It goes like that from mission to mission with some cutscenes here and there. It’s a bit side scroller-like in that, as I said, it’s a side view of the action and you move through the level from left to right. It actually looks a little like a strategy version of a beat-em up. But with guns. Characters have different abilities like a melee move or varied types of fire. There’s probably some element of equipping the team and upgrading, but I really don’t recall.

Thanks for any help.

and there was a crazy song track.
with many unlockable characters.
one was a dog.
Oh and you were on roller-blades.

1.Vending Machine Champ or I Paid For It! ?

I’m pretty sure chromegirl covered it with Jet Set Radio. It also might be Jet Set Radio Future, but it’s definitely within the franchise. Anyway, both of the games you listed don’t fit the posters description at all.

I remember this game. I also can’t remember the name, but here are some more things:
the main character was Deus Ex or something like that.
It was about an alien race taking over earth and assimilating them (Borg style, but red instead of black)
The humans capture a mothers ip of the aliens under the leadership of the Deus Ex.

Damn it, you guys. I too remembered this game and couldn’t recall the title. This bothered me so much that I wasted a good chunk of my morning tracking it down. Oh well, at least I finally found it.

Well that’s a shame. I really don’t care about the terminology. A bad choice of words doesn’t bother me. A bad interface and design does.

I agreed with MyDreamName in the thread concerning the recent update, but I really don’t like this interface change and I wonder about how much coding work would really be involved for his proposal, so I’m speaking up here as well.

I totally endorse the idea. At least give us the choice.

Just tried out Dueling Blades a bit, and there is a quest that rewards you for sending a message to invite a player to be your “ally”. Eh, it’s worded like you’re just sending a referral for the game and it’s not quite clear as to whether or not the acceptance of the invited player is what hinges on the quest reward. It is, actually, but I’m betting many are just trying to get the reward and spamming a message out there.

And I agree, I really dislike it when those multiplayer games utilize this tactic.

Topic: Kongregate / Profile page redesign: now with a feed!

Damn it, the update finally happened to me. I hate it. I’d make a comment about the obnoxiousness of social network sites, but plenty others have voiced as much.

It’s just so bloated with information that is utterly useless to me. I’m scrolling down over half a huge page just to see my badges, favorites and awards. I really don’t need a massive list of each and every badge I’ve earned and the exact moment in time it happened. I wouldn’t even mind the activity feed if it was kept for when I view others’ profiles and just not my own.

(EDIT: Nevermind, I just noticed that the shout board is now buried within the mass of badge updates, comments, forum posts and everything else filed under the activity feed so what was once a cool and useful feature for me is now too difficult to make use of)

Everything was so streamlined before. You could take in pretty much everything at a glance and click a link for more detail in a specific area. You still have to open new links to get more detail, but you have so much more information cluttering the profile page.

I completely understand why some would enjoy this update, so it’s great that they can utilize it. But as has been stated, why can’t we have the option to just revert back to the old interface? A simple box to tick or untick under the ‘edit profile’ menu.

I’d also just like to add that I hated the last update to the site’s interface. People in that thread wrote about aversion to change and how we’d get used to it. I didn’t like that change either, and I still don’t. The only way in which I’ve become “used to it” is now, whenever I open a new page/tab within Kongregate, I immediately scroll down so that the top red banner with games/achievements/community is no longer in view. Otherwise, my cursor inevitably scrolls over some menu and triggers a pop-up sub-menu that obscures a portion of my screen. I usually play on a smaller screen laptop with lower resolutions to bring out a larger game window, so that obstruction can be really problematic, or at the very least annoying.

Also, really long, sorry. I just wanted to voice my issues in detail. Especially since I’m fairly new to Kong compared to most of the responders in this thread who have thousands of posts.

I had to register because this is driving me mad and I hope you guys know the answer.

This game was for the SNES or Megadrive or that type of era. It was not as late PS1 (I do not think so anyway).
It was an adventure/RPG with a top down (SNES Zelda/Secret of Mana style) view set in a fantasy world where you played the hero who was blonde and wore an amulet or gauntlet on his wrist that could fire fireballs. It was the usual type of story where the throne had been usurped by an evil Uncle or something similar.

There was no powering up and the fighting was similar to SNES Zelda in that it was just slashing at the bad guys. Much of the time was spent fighting the Imperial soldiers sent after you.

At one point you end up in a mountain and have to fight a huge dragon boss who was surrounded by a chasm and you had to jump between platforms. That was the most iconic part of the game.

Also at one point you got captured by the Imperial soldiers and ended up on board a ship.

The graphics were fairly good and cartoony. That is all I can recall. It was not a very long game but it was great. I have failed completely to find it on google. HELP!

Could be Beyond Oasis for the SEGA Genesis, known as The Story of Thor in Japan and Europe.

Maybe the game is City siege, but you could check these pages:
this one is for team based games:
http://www.kongregate.com/team-games
and this one is for side scrolling based games:
http://www.kongregate.com/side-scrolling-games
or maybe you’d find it under tactical:
http://www.kongregate.com/tactical-games

make sure when you find it you let us know, it actully sound pretty fun.

Not city siege, but good guess. I’ve already checked most of those categories you listed; it’s not under tactical games. Other potential categories are just so large (like side scrollers) that I run out of steam and can’t check them all.

I should clarify that the view isn’t strictly 2D in the platformer style. It’s reminiscent of brawler style games, where you can move up and down to a degree, like in Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Double Dragon, etc.. 2.5D, if you will. Except it’s a strategy game, not a brawler. I THINK it was turn-based, but it might have been more like real-time with the ability to pause and issue orders.

And thanks a lot for responding. I’m still looking for it, though now I fear I chanced upon it on some random gaming site and not on Kong at all. If I find it, I’ll post.

Topic: Epic War Saga / Need help-Elemental weakness

I’m just experimenting with the tutorial now, so hell if I know from experience, but the instructions list it as such:

“Element Table : fire > wind > earth > thunder > water > fire
when you are of the stronger element, you will inflict 2x your base damage. when you are of the weaker element, you will inflict 0.25x your base damage. Same element 0.5x damage.”

So, according to this, ap_u’s response is slightly off, in that the order of wind and thunder are reversed.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s a movie based game. It’s relatively recent, and a Flash game with good graphics. I’ve seen just about every Arnie movie out there, so I’m sure it’s not any of the ones you listed. The Schwarzenegger clone character in the game I’m thinking of was just a tongue in cheek nod to the action hero genre. Still, thanks for trying.
