Topic: Outernauts / Support Issue Thread

Hello Support !
After completing the Booty Hideway dungeon for the third time, i somehow ended up with the quest “Beast of Legend” in my active quests, even though im still in sector 5 (and the quest starts on sector 6)… Plus, the quest isn’t on its first step (it’s at the Getting Crafty step) resulting in me not even having a scarlet scyke… Its not really a problem right now but wont this turn into a major issue when i reach the actual quest ? Can you fix this ?

I’m glad you like it, Social ! Everyone is putting a lot of efforts in filling it up and making it look as nice as possible. I just wished english were my mother tongue… my pages would’nt need so much correcting…

The TerraMonsters Wiki grows fast and gets tons of data and help from the kong community ! To make it even better, I’d want a super nice, extra cool and unique bannerfor the wiki’s main page. But I can’t seem to make anything good enough to get published…

So… To your drawing apps !
The banner will be on the main page of the wiki and must not exceed 800px in width. Except for that size restriction, you’re free to let your imagination go wild !

During the quest “Sugar Cane Removal”, I’m unable to pick-up the sugar cane, even though the golden arrow points right at it. When I click it, my charracter won’t even move towards it… I’ve refreshed the page and cleared my cache several times but that won’t help. http://i.imgur.com/MNiD5.png

You played with your terramon. The ball can be used only once and is not displayed after that.

That’s because playing with terramons is not fully implemented yet.

I’ll try to post the few graphical bugs I pick-up… Plz tell me if this is unneeded.

When learning torrent with a tortipous, the animation of the attack in the window that proposes to forget a skill is displayed over the skills names. If you try to forget a skill by clicking over the attack animation, the game froze. Could not reproduce that one yet.. http://img11.hostingpics.net/pics/768196bug1.png

There’s also a certain kind of tree in Savannah whose trunk you walk on when you are behind it.

Why not different paths of evolution for Terramons ?

Let me explain the way I see it. I imagine pandemite having two different final forms, each one with its own specificities, like one being more tank-like and the other one more based on attack. Each form has its own appearance and name and are therefore considered different terramons. The path chosen to evolve could depend on indirect causes, like the higher stats or the day of the week… The way to force a specific path should be hard to guess and not really obvious so that it would necessitate a lot of cooperation with other trainers, but there could also be special items (bought with terra-dollars) to “choose your next evolution”.

Evolving a terramon is harder than in pokemon, lets face it. Making it more rewarding by giving different ways to evolve could help a lot creating a stronger will to invest time in a terramon. It would also have an impact on customization, since raising the same terramon than someone else at one point doesn’t mean you’ll have the same in the end (plus your genius’ skin system —> its awesome).

On the low hand, it looks like extensive work and balancing… Just wanted to share that thought with you guys !

Topic: Spiral Knights / Which control is better?

Depends on what weapon im using.
If its swords and bombs only, I use my usb xbox360 controller+JoyToKey… it feels like playing zelda and is a lot more comfortable than using mouse. But when it comes to guns, theres nothing better than WASD + mouse !

Topic: Game Programming / how do I...? (AS 2.0)

hi there !!

i’m developping a flash game, inspired by shootorials. it’s a view-from-top scrolling shooter.

my problem is : i would want my player ship to be “stopped” by walls or things from the background and to be pushed by them while they move. another good point would be that the ship follows the curve of the background as the player tries to go through it (example : if ship collides with a pyramide, it stops, and if player pushes right arrow, the ship moves to the top of it)

by now, i tried to desactivate the ability of the player to control the ship when this one collides with background (if collision occurs from the top of the ship, i desactivate up arrow etc..) but the ship keeps being blocked in the background…

i don’t really know how to manage with my attempts.. if anyone has an idea…

Topic: Kongregate Labs / problem with AS 2.0

hi there,

i’m doing my first game in action script, inspired by shootorials. I try to create a scrolling background that would disappear when reaching a certain _x, and would be replaced by the next part of the backgound, so that in wouldn’t be a loop anymore but a scenarized one.

my problem is : i can’t make it disappear from stage.
i’ve created a movie clip named back01train, and the class corresponding, in which i wrote this code :

when i play the scene, the background scrolls to the left, that’s great, but when it reachs -400, it doesn’t disappear.

what am i doing wrong ?

when i created the missiles, it worked well and they were disappearing when asked :(
