Just to clarify, it was the publisher who made the accounts and tried to game the ratings. The author had nothing to do with it. The good news is, the game is back. The author has published under their account.

Topic: Technical Support / Site problems last night and this morning (Dec 10)

Hi Everyone,

We have been working to improve the performance of the site by adding new disk drives to our database servers. We put the new drives into use last night around 10PM PST, we had to restart the site to do this. When we checked on the new drives this morning, we saw a problem and so had to restart the site to take them out again.

The database problem we had earlier this morning broke a table that chat uses. We just fixed it.

Hi Folks,

Our apologies for the downtime. The active database server took an unexpected siesta this morning. When the active server stops working, a backup server is supposed to kick in, but for some reason this failed to happen. We are looking into both failures and will find and fix the problem. (Because we hate waking up at 4:30 AM.)

The Kongregate servers are running just fine, they peaked at 38% utilization last weekend with a record number of players.

There have been some problems with spammers putting links in their profiles to improve their website search engine optimization. Try the keywords “kongregate cialis” in Google for an example of these evil deeds. The programming staff is trying to strike a balance between useful features and being a spamsite for the drug industry, please be patient with them.
