Topic: Kings Of The Realm / Settlement Shields

These things are completely ridiculous. I was attacked while active, but completely unable to defend my self because all my commanders were either over a minute away or healing, and lost half my resources from a 32 wagon raid. This only gave me a 2 hour shield.

You’ve lowered the effectiveness of orc camps, and made resource tiles much better. A fair exchange, but while shielded I can’t use a resource tile without lowering my shield and declaring ‘come back, I have more to take’. Meaning I will go for orcs, which don’t give enough to recover what was just lost.

Then as soon as my shield expires, my raider comes back with less wagons (22) for a defended settlement. I casually log in to pick up some resources and find i was attacked, as a compromise I was given an 8 hour shield, fair enough. But, the simple act of logging on, oblivious as to what just happened, removes 4 hours of protection. Which against someone who will continue raiding for the next 6 hours or so, is highly inadequate.

Most MMO games reward players for logging on, not frighten everyone away. What game is this that I would be left saying ‘oh no, I really don’t want to play this game because I may have been attacked within the last 8 hours, I ‘ll put this off till later.’ Then later you find that there’s still the possibility of having a shield, effectively leading to never actually logging in again because you’re worried about being attacked, yet by not logging in, you are susceptible to more attacks, and I am driven insane wondering whether it’s more beneficial to log in or not. And naturally, if something has no logical reasoning behind it and leading an complex argument about the merits of doing a particular activities there is an increased likelihood of quitting the offending activity to save future mental discomfort. And such in this predicament I must now seriously consider quitting the game over something as trivial as giving my raider the opportunity to attack 4 hours sooner than should be expected, now that there is a 90% chance of being left with practically nothing, reducing the probability of having the resources to heal my units in their next foray against orcs tomorrow.

In summary, these shield are almost irrelevant in their paltry offerings. If you are going to give players shields enough to sustain their settlement, don’t take it away just because they were there to witness the complete and utter obliteration of their settlement. If I may suggest an annalogy, I would say that these shields, in their current state of mind boggling unpredictability, are like running up to a man and saying ‘here, you forgot your wallet’ and being answered by fist between the eyes. We try and support you by playing, but really would be much better off if we didn’t (keeping the wallet).

These shields need some working on, they ruin the playing experience. This game should be called False Hope. Taking away gifts is cruel.

Topic: Kings Of The Realm / Patch Notes 19th Sept

Not sure whether this is related to the post, but I just had a 5 turn combat against another player. I may have lost, but I still wiped out over half their forces, for this I was given 0exp. I normally get exp from defeats, this is like saying ‘only the strong will survive’, without any defeat exp, the strong will get stronger and the weak get weaker.

Topic: Monsters & Dungeons / frustration poll of the month

This is relative to what drops you get. I’m not too far into the game, so I can’t do master or master or heroic, expert is hard enough right now.
I have 6 ash arrow, they drop more than common for me on 8.5, and 3 core, and the rarer versions. For me, the fire dino wouldn’t be too difficult to evolve.
I have 5 jawrahna, again pretty common for me, and 3 tentajewls.
I have 1 undread left, after using 2 to evolve my sproutasaur, the only other evo monster for it i have is 1 havespore, which i got from an egg. But just based on leveling my starter to a 3*, I could’ve evolved the fire and water starter to the same stage two weeks earlier. It all depends on your drops though, they should all be the same. Easier to find epistle and the hand too, these undread drop rates are ridiculous….

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Let's have a fun survey thread!

1) poison blade. I was so hyped I bragged about it to my nooby friends.
2) Fire sword. I was really hyped then someone told me it unlocked an enchanter recipe and it was suddenly lame.
3) Tinkerer. duh. He had the most interesting hair.
4) Wait, I have a bowyer?! Carpenter’s shields. Once I worked out how to make hard-wood buckler.
5) Is this the same as question 2? 40 Fire swords → Ice brand, yay for contributions.

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Suggestions for names for S&P2 successor

Maybe as it will be a different company, adding a 3 could be a little misleading, and changing the name completely would make it appear, to anyone who isn’t aware of the move, that somebody stole the idea. Or that it’s completely separate from the S&P series. Perhaps there could be a version title, like Swords and Potions: A New Start. Or S&P Golden Amulets, kinda hard to name something when we don’t know what new contents there might be, like this game could’ve been S&P City, or A Thousand Days of Grind.

Cloudcade said their may be a surprise something for those that had supported Edgebee games in the upcoming S&P game. Still, the boons of using tokens on their games still gives/gave you a more enjoyable playing experience whether tokens will retain a use in the upcoming game or otherwise.

Topic: BloodRealm / Price Cuts

Perhaps another alternative would be to leave the costs the same, and doing limited time events and challenges, weekly, that yield gold. Like, win any duel with less than 200 hp within 48hrs for 200 gold or something. Or a particular event where gold purchases cost 30% less, or 50% bonus gold for spending kreds something. Or obtain a specific card within the time frame. There are lots of different kinds of things you could do for varying rewards, whether it be gold, silver or a pack. You could put the challenge at the top of the quests panel with a timer for remaining time/next challenge. It would makes things more fun. :)

Topic: BloodRealm / What glory does it take to move past rank 501?!

Well, the other day it was fairly easy to get above rank 500. around 2000 – 3000 points would get you comfortably within the bracket, netting you a nice soul card. But since the badges were added, a lot of new players came to the game. And possibly a lot of experienced returning players too. So it makes it much harder to get into the rankings. I have no idea what score is needed now, but 2000 isn’t going to get you anywhere close. you’re going to have to do arena several times a day.

Topic: Swords & Potions 2 / Suggestions and Ideas

I don’t know if there’s a place where I can view all my current customers. The majority at the moment have reached their level cap, and it would be nice to know how many low levelled customers can still grow. I can view the customers that come to my shop in the city hall, but I just see their respective level range. It would be nice to have a figure somewhere rather than trawling through the city hall counting all my customers. The place where I can view this information is probably somewhere, but I can’t find it.

Another thought though, perhaps we could have a button that allows you to ask for a particular item in the city trade. Which would help someone know that another is after a particular item, so would help them out by putting one up. Event quests seem like they may need assistance. I love trading though. :D It’s helpful.

Yes. I knew I wasn’t hallucinating about the send all…Well, it’s not like I have many in my list, but send all was so convenient. :) Now to find out whether I was hallucinating about the currency discounts…. Could’ve sworn it was 19/48/90/?/800….

Topic: Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM / Trading Option

Trading would be lovely, but it would probably be difficult to implement successfully. I was thinking that to prevent people abusing a trading system by creating multiple accounts and sending all the good cards to one, or to a new player, there could be an extra currency. Trade Points, TP, which could be obtained through Bamgo, objective rewards, and brought with DP. Trading needs to come at a price, otherwise we could just simply get all the cards we need without any trouble. I was thinking something like trading rarity for rarity 1 TP for a common, 2 for a rare, 4 for an ultra rare, and 8 for a legend. So there would be a cost to get the specific legend you’re after, but that would be nothing compared to buying dozens of packs searching. Just a suggestion, not sure how, if ever, it will come.

Topic: Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM / is there are exodia?

I was thinking about this last night, how peculiar to see a topic on it… If they were to put Exodia in the game, they would probably make 2 of the pieces spell cards, like the legs, and have the head and arms monsters. It wouldn’t be to far different from what they have now, with trap cards labelled spells. But if you could get all 5 pieces in play at the same time, you’d instantly win. Exodia has always seemed to me to be completely OP, probably why he’s called ‘the forbidden one’, but the developers would make it ultra hard to get all the pieces by putting each one in a different pack, that would obviously cost DP. So you would have to spend hundreds of DP on each respective pack till you got them all, and with no trading, the only ones that would benefit would be the people who pay a considerable amount of money. Which would only lead to a bigger rift between the people who pay and those who do not. But assuming they put Exodia in the game, those with the pieces will then be pining for Exodia Necros, or whatever it’s actually called, so that they can send all the cards to the graveyard and then still summon him. I think there’s already several very powerful monsters in this game, that to put something unstoppable in may cripple it, but I have to admit, it would be fun to summon Exodia. I just like typing….

Topic: Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM / Great Game Ruined by a Bad Energy System

I agree that removing the energy system would break the game, progress wouldn’t mean anything. Would you rather beat the whole game in a week, or actually try and get some long term enjoyment out of it? Removing it completely would alter the game drastically, it wouldn’t be the same. However, there are plenty of solutions to improving the current system. As suggested above, incrementing the max on each level up, or increasing the total, buying energy with other currencies. Another suggestion would be to half the cost for replaying duels you just lost. The high costs later in the game are annoying, but you can always come back later.

I believe you lose 15 energy every time you lose an ambush. Which is a real pain when you wait 15 minutes then make your way to the 15 energy duel, only to find you’ve lost it all before getting there. :| If you have less than 15, you lose it all.

Just two more suggestions, they do not need to be implemented, they’re just suggestions;
5) Default friends. So when you start playing you have a friend like Tristan, who you can duel each day, and then at level 4 you get another friend, Téa, and at level 8, Duke ect… So as you level you have more duels you can do each day, and these default friends would have a set deck, each stronger than the last. Possibly there could be a 5% chance each day that you receive a gift from one of them, like 6 card pieces, 1000 coins, cripple 200 ect..

6)A training area. A place where you can go to test out a new deck without the cost of energy. You could select the level of the battle terminal you face and they would use a random deck with a number of life-points between a set bracket relative to the level selected. Would be a great way to pass the time too, but a reward for winning would not be necessary as it would just be a training ground.

All out of suggestions for now. :)

All my suggestions are merely suggestions.

1) It would be cool to be able to click on a friend to view their statistics. Like level, duel stars, current chapter, total arena points, number of friends. I want to know how they’re doing progress wise.

2) Live duels against friends and random people would be cool. For example, sometimes the AI plays a boost all beast spell card when they don’t have any beast monsters in play. Playing against a real person, using their own deck is always going to be more of a challenge.

3) I’d like to see the energy limit doubled to 200, of course it would be lovely to not have it at all, but that would alter the game beyond original intentions. Another nice point would be to make replaying a duel you just lost cost half of the original value. It’s annoying when you forget to make your new deck the play deck and so waste a huge chunk of energy with a default deck, or when you were one attack away from winning the duel, it would be nice to have another go a lower price. Maybe the energy required for the node would go back up to the original value after 5 hours or so.

4) I like the all the varying types of challenges, but maybe there could be a new mode like ‘deckmaster’. Not sure how it would work, whether you would pick a monster with an effect that doesn’t hold your highest star rating before the duel, or whether you would pick one of the first monster cards you draw. Probably the most feasible option would be to add deckmaster cards in series 2, or 3, so they have specific abilities that only activate when chosen during a deckmaster duel. It would create a whole new level of strategy, but naturally, we don’t want to completely alter the entire game.

All out of suggestions for now. :)

Topic: Sorcery Quest / Skill Levelling

Up until level 20, the knight’s Gallop will give no bonus to maximum hits. At level 20 he will get a +0.85 bonus to maximum hits when you use the skill. Every level afterwards will give an additional +0.05 to maximum hits. Because it has a + this will be added onto anything else that gives maximum hits.

Topic: ShellShock Live 2 / [Unofficial] Ideas for weapons?

What about a Life donor weapon. It could equal out the remaining hp of the enemy or ally with you, so when you have low hp you would take hp from the target (used on ememy) and when you have a lot of hp you would give half to another player (used on an ally that’s better than you or almost out). When the weapon lv ups it could either take like 5% more, or give you a boost of 5% of max health or something, not sure which would be more practical. Is this a good idea?
