Well thanks for the lengthy report :)
We actually did a lot of changes recently, especially regarding the first time experience.
The tutorial is now much much much more clearer and hopefully, fun (from our users testings).
Regarding the Store.. We were actually very puzzled by theses remarks as we believe we made a pretty fair F2P with a lot of ways to build up your collection easily…
But it occurred to us that maybe much of the feeling that everything is behind a paywall come from the fact that you did not notice the market. The market allow players to sell and buy ANY heroes directly for soft or premium currency.
We’ll definitely change that and merge the Shop with the Market and put all your purchase options in one screen.
Are we on the right track when we think it is the problem ?
As for loading, the game is not that heavy, ~1.8Mb for the initial download then everything is loaded (and cached on demand) and optimized as much as we could. We use Amazon for hosting so it should be quite reliable… I dont know what to say about that beside the fact that everything is cached as you go along and later loadings should be much quicker.
And finally, I’m not sure what you say about the animations, do you think it would be better if the whole animation “sequence” was a bit quicker with less “steps” ?
I almost forgot, we did shorten the chest thing now and we might go a little bit further as well.
