Topic: Kongregate / Questions about custom avatars

I’m not to good with technical stuff, but if you can’t turn something from photoshop directly into an avatar one possible way to make an avatar is to use a snipping tool which many computers Windows 7 and up have, and just snip the image.

Topic: Technical Support / giving threats/cursing people in game

I don’t think Kongregate will be able to deal with problems in game, but I think most games offer a way to report players who threaten others. If you or anyone else feels threatened by another player, your best bet is to probably contact the devs or find an ingame way to report them.

In Zoo Tycoon, I enjoyed fencing guests in, and fencing the cage exits so they can’t leave, and I would put in a hoard of lions to hunt the guests down.

Puff Catty. It’s so cute, has a nice shade of blue, and is just so adorable.

Well it’s a fairly fun game. I felt the main challenge behind level five wasn’t the quick reactions needed to beat it, but rather just how long one needed to maintain constant concentration.

Topic: General Gaming / Discussion for the Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse Game

I see, and fully accept the flaws that you have pointed out of a game where you play as slow zombies, and it takes too long to get from point A to B. It could work for realism if only humans could be controlled, but I guess that zombies should be able to move faster just so the player can get some actual consistently fun gameplay instead of a shambling simulator. Also along the thought of zombies, I guess one can either choose to start out as a zombie if they dislike a survivor play style or they can opt to immediately restart back as a human and ignore the undead lifestyle if they don’t want to be a zombie.

As for special zombies, I can see how some sorts of special zombies might be feasible. Sure we can’t spew acid if we die and come back, but humans can end up being filled with pus, and explode if the corpse isn’t properly preserved. Thus there can be large pus filled zombies that explode limited amounts of pus sacs on them to infect survivors or do damage since William the Conquerers body pretty much exploded and splattered pus over those who attended his attempted burial. It’s a little disgusting, but I can see it working.

Other possible ‘special’ zombies might not be zombies endowed with superpowers, but instead given some condition that allows them to have an extra edge over the living. Perhaps carrier zombies that carry a host of zombified parasites or just attract flies can cause damage by being near humans and having the insects attack them or just unintentionally spread the parasites and causing a higher possibility to be infected when having contact with them. Zombified animals might also be a possible class of ‘special’ zombies. Zombified canines, raccoons, or other animals may have the advantage of higher mobility and easier ability to evade at the cost of their physical durability. Still even if any sort of special zombies are created, the special zombies shouldn’t overshadow regular zombies.

I was thinking perhaps like the ZombiU where one can get stronger by training a weapon and such, how about reducing their attributes by a moderate amount and forcing the players to work their way back in order to surpass their former glory. Loot might be important in a post apocalyptic world, but losing progress might be an even better incentive to stay alive. The amount lost should never be so trivial that death is a laughing matter, but not significant enough that the players felt like they lost too to recover.

This is true. In addition to assigning 36×36 png images to high scores in Flash games, I also do all site programming, server maintenance, graphic design, ad sales, QA testing, office management, kreds integration, mobile publishing, game development, moderator management, answering support emails, accounting, and product management of new features.

I have to keep reminding myself of all the things that I do because if I forget, then I might also forget that my coworkers are merely hallucinations.

Then out of all the hallucinations you have, which one is your favorite hallucination outside of jmtb02 since you started had started hallucinating jmtb02 joining Kong fairly recently (like last year or so?). Also when it was announced Mr. Jim Greer left, does it mean you stopped hallucinating about him? By the way, about the photos of the Kong staff, are they all just photoshopped in, because surely one cannot take pictures of hallucinations with a camera.

Topic: Technical Support / Crowns Disappearing!!

Well this is probably an issue that is ingame, and the Kong staff won’t be able to help with in game issues. I’d say your best bet is to go to the game, scroll down slightly and click on the bug report, and then explain your problem to the dev that should hopefully compensate you for your losses.

Topic: Kongregate / Calculating points for level

Well the problem with that isn’t that six dollars is particularly large amount by itself, but just imagine how many people are on Kongregate. If Kongregate lost just even one dollar for every player on here let alone six, it becomes quite a large sum. Since Kongregate is a business, giving out that kind of sum would lead to quite a hard blow on Kongregates profits and finances.

Topic: General Gaming / Discussion for the Ultimate Zombie Apocalypse Game

Well I’m not against the idea of a permanent death system, but in a zombie apocalypse is death truly the end? Instead of penalizing a player for dying, how about when a player dies as a result of a zombie conflict as opposed to comitting suicide, falling from somewhere high, falling into the ocean, etc, they come back as a zombie?

Now humans and zombies would probably have some pretty different gameplay, but how about having a points system for performing well in either or both of them, and a reward is granted on how long a survivor lasted, how much they contributed to the living, and how threatening they were as a zombie, how much survivors they enlisted or assisted in enlisting into the ranks of the undead, how many fortress sieges they participated in and succeeded, etc. I’ve played several games with permanent death system, and many of them have rewards for doing well. They don’t have to have a large impact on playing just perhaps a small boost in some physical attribute, or even things that don’t impact gameplay like special costumes or accessories.

But as for the meat of the matter, the zombies. I would envision them as a Romero type zombie hoard. Slow shambing and not much of threat when players play alone, but if the players that play as zombies work together with the AI zombies and other human controlled zombies, no fortress is truly out of their league as the sea of flesh opens its maws and devour the morsel of steel. Because zombies live to eat, and do not compete with each other out of greed, I would like to see the zombie faction as a highly cooperative multiplayer playstyle due to how they often swarm around the survivors, and any rewarding system that rewards players for doing well should be based on goals that are cooperative in nature with perhaps a little bonus for doing well personally.

Whereas survivors work together too, they must also compete with each other for supplies, it brings both a balanced multiplayer experience as they need to work with each other to survive the hoard, but they must also be ready to abandon and betray each other for their own survival. If there was a system that rewards players when their character dies, I would want to see the rewards based primarily on doing well personally, and a small bonus for doing well as a group.

Surviors can have plenty of skills, but because zombie (or the ones I imagine at least) shamble and move fairly slowly, they should have a passive defense ability that slightly reduces the amount each one takes depending on how close it is to other zombies in order to signify their fortitude, especially as a hoard that is mobile fortress of flesh and mouths.

Also with passive abilities that activate in relation to numbers, I feel a human should be able to move faster if they are moving in small groups, but lose the ability when too many of them are close since small groups are easier to mobilize, and the game could signify it with speed boosts.

Since the game is in a zombie apocalypse setting, I would assume the zombies would already have the upper hand in the history of the game, and as a result, I feel like the gameplay should be tilted towards the zombies advantage.

Topic: Technical Support / wartune will not load

I don’t think we’ll be able to help with the problem, since the problem is actually with the game and not with you. In the Wartune subforum, there have been several threads to complain about this bug, and the devs have acknowledged it exists, so the only thing you can do is wait. On the bright side however, you can probably expect a bit of compensation from the R2Games staff since they have pretty nice customer service, and they won’t simply leave fixing a bug at that without giving out a bonus or two.

It’s not like an official chat room, but you can create a new chat room tab. You can type in “/invite persons_name” to get them to join. If you want to open up a personal chat room just for yourself, just invite your own name, so in this case, just type in /invite ryan36, and you’ll be all good to go.
