I think this would be a great idea both for the whale cluster and such but some of the newer servers havent had the chance at some of these. Only a handful of khnums, 2-3 osi zues and odin in my “cluster”. Give the new guys a chance! :D

I use the same type of deck and did my Sarya mostly for GSD and 2s. Added her in my 1s to try it and no regrets. Sarya is the way to go imo, then ragnar or cali. Ragnar is the next one on my list to awa

Copies a creature card in target opponents hand and puts it into your hand at Full CD

Mage Skill
CD 5/4/3
Mastery- Always 0% (CD Decreases instead)
Epic- CD5
Legendary- CD4

Copies Target creatures on the battlefield and places a copy of that creature onto the battlefield in front of your hero under your control.

So even at Godlike, you have to wait till turn 3 to play this mage skill and it’s guaranteed to go to your graveyard after you use it whereas with doppelganger you can fire it off on turn 1 AND it has a decent chance of coming back to your hand afterwards in legendary and godlike (if your Weapon is decent- Level 10+ on epic works well) and you have a decent ranger reputation. So with a double doppelganger opening hand I can copy 2 creatures (provided you have any) from your hand. I can play it twice and they can come back to my hand, allowing for more shenanigans next turn. Even if the Mage skill is in my opening hand I can’t play until turn 3 without intervention from creatures or allied heroes (priest zeal on turn 2 or turn 1/2 Battledrum {Version 1.0- Creatures- Halfblood- Walls}) are a couple of examples). So at best, I can play this card on turn 2 with intervention and it goes to my graveyard. How then do I get it back to my hand- 3 options.
1- Nuwa
2- Meditation
3- Djinn
1)Nuwa will send it back to the deck which is then shuffled. You have no guarantee of getting it out again quickly, even if you have multiple copies in your deck.
2)Meditation is a 5CD Skill {Version 1.0- Skills- Mages} that brings back 2 skill cards from your graveyard to your hand. Without shenanigans you can play this card on turn 5 (presuming its also in your opening hand) to recover the mage skill, which then comes back to your hand. You then need to wait, without shenanigans, for 3 turns (Minimum) to be able to play it again. With shenanigans (Your opening hand is Meditation and Mage Skill) you play this skill on turn 2 (Due to Zeal from your priest ally) and you have play your battledrum in play (it was your end of turn draw on turn 1) (meditation is now CD3). On turn 4 you play meditation and you regain your skill card. This is then inspired due to your battledrum. You can then play this skill next turn (or on turn 6, dependant upon inspire).
Remember, this is all very dependant upon draws. and upon the fact that there is something worth copying.
3)Djinn is a 6CD mage specialist {Special- Specialists} that can return 1 skill a turn to it’s summoners hand. It can be very dangerous if left on the field, and as such, most players will kill or disable it at the first opportunity. However, if you can keep it on the field for a few turn, you will get a regular rush of skills return to your hand (or the top of your deck, if your hand is full). Djinn would be my preffered option of recursion, however, in most cases it won’t last more than 2 or 3 turns, especially in multiplayer (2v2 or 4v4) and as such, it can be difficult to utilise and there is no guarantee that the skill you want will be the one to return to your hand.

Then there is the preemptiveness of doppelganger. Not only does it have an excellent countdown and a reasonable return rate, but there is also the fact that you gain an insight into what your opponent has in their hand. You can (in most cases) preempt what they are going to try and do and try and counter it. You also gain and an addition creature for the duration of the battle (it goes to the graveyard when it’s dead which means recursion is possible which I don’t- correct me if I’m wrong- believe is possible for the creature summoned by the mage skill)

Yes, the fact you have to wait for the creature to countdown with doppelganger doesn’t dimish it’s usefulness or value. I can play (with a bit of luck) 5 doppelgangers by turn the end of turn 2 whereas a mage would only be able to play at max 2 (only if a Priest ally had Zeal in their opening hand).

Yes, you have the potential to play a massive creature instantly, but the clincher is, does the thing you want to copy have nimble, or is there even something worth copying at all considering, for most games, it would be a 1 use skill per copy in the deck.

So, as you can see, the mage skill really isn’t that OP at all.

1. Not saying the mage skill (which I will just refer as ’ Copy’) is that OP on its own or shouldn’t be released, although i admit i can see how it could be. The devs for your servers decided that and henceforth, won’t be released.
2. You’re comparing dopple with this new copy skill which there are several points i think you’ve missed.

A) The cd difference is 1 and 3-4. Dopple wins, sure.
B) For returning ill ignore nuwa since both can use as well as other creatures. Dopple has a small return rate 8-16%, leg-gl and Copy can be returned using Djinn and meditation. Dopple is a chance to bounce (yea yea rates and stuff I know I use it) and djinn and med have a chance to draw the skills. Played right, you CAN for sure return to your deck atleast. I give the edge to Copy but some could argue its the same. Both have (argueably) the same draw chance, so ill ignore that as well.
C) The creature you copy. Dopple copies a random creature from the selected opponents hand. The creature copied is random, the cd is set to max, and if there’s no creature, no copy. Copy on the other hand let’s you choose the creature you copy, yes it has to be on the field. But, it’s any creature and automatically played regardless if it’s an elite.
D) One gets a random card at its max cd. One gets a selected one put on the field. The fun thing to do? Copy djinns ( I know, not an elite) and recycle all skills from grave. Copy an awa or two, 2 awakened Saryas (-20hp from wither)? 2 awakened Ragnars?

My point is that roughly they are equal, the 3-4 cd of Copy cancelled with the cd of the creature Dopple copies, EXCEPT when it breaks the rule of elites. The whole point of elites, only controlling one per side at a time. Only other thing that does, so far, is Void the tarot which is randomized only from the tarots and is a bug in my opinion but that’s me.

They should just nerf it by disabling the ability to have two elites with same names…

That would work, but I don’t think they will do it since I’m guessing it would require changing some of the core game files. Remember that our devs don’t make the game, they just pay for the rights to translate and republish it. So they want to avoid getting their hands dirty with coding as much as possible, because they are probably less familiar with the game code than a usual developer.
