Beautiful, and very informative. Thanks for taking the time to write this!

Topic: Astroflux / Fundamental problems I've observed as a new player

My responses to the issues you’ve raised:

1: I agree completely with this. IMO the real issue is that there are large gaps where all the enemies you can kill yield insignificant xp, while enemies that yield more are too strong to defeat in any reasonable numbers. I’m sure the devs are aware of this, but I bet this is a difficult balancing issue to fix without creating places where people can be ‘power leveled’.
2: I honestly don’t remember when I unlocked Kritillian, although I will say that grinding is part of any MMO and should probably be expected, at least in moderation.
3: The random mission rewards probably do feel low for people who can still get xp from killing enemies, but in the late game (and in the leveling gaps described in my response to 1) the missions are one of the most efficient ways to gain xp. Bear in mind that harder missions do give more xp, up to around 1000.
4: This is a pet peeve of mine. I remember being annoyed about this when I was leveling up, and now that I’m higher level I get annoyed when I receive a mission to kill 35 Zlatte in Hyperion with a reward of 50 xp. It would be nice if there was some restriction based on level or zones unlocked regarding what missions you are assigned.
5: Meh, it’s kind of a mission. Again, you’ll have more appreciation for these missions as you level up and xp becomes harder to find. The later entries in this mission series will give you about half a level, which saves hours of grinding.
6: PvP is always a mixed bag in any MMO, because it introduces a formal system within which people are encouraged to act like jerks. In particular, the recent addition of PvP level caps to most of the Gellan system is a debatable change IMO. I used to shoot down pk’ers who were giving other players trouble, but I can’t do that anymore. On the other hand, now very high-level players can no longer be nearly-unstoppable pk’ers. I really don’t have any constructive ideas for these issues, as there seem to be no easy answers.

Last note: I’ve played at 1900×1080 and 1600×900 and never had trouble with the chat window blocking stuff. Are you at a lower resolution or something?

… Advertising porn? Really? And you have the gall to be upset about being muted? I have no words for this, so I shall make one up…

That’s the only thing any of my Grinns say anymore too. At least I know what to get them when their special day arrives.

Loot is no longer supposed to bounce on low quality, because the bouncing itself can cause lag.

“Weaken Power” and “Blind Power” effects are not displayed correctly.

The second page of the new stats screen in the battle arena displays the strength and duration of your poison, weaken, and blind effects. The durations for all three seem to be reported correctly, but the effect percentage for weaken and blind (i.e. 20-40% based on your points in their respective 'power' talents) do not display correctly. I did some experimentation with skill point refunds and realized that the numbers displayed for the power levels of all three effects are determined solely by what level the poison power skill is at. For instance, 0/0/0 points in poison power/weaken power/blind power reports 500%/20%/20%; 0/[any number]/[any number] will always still report 500%/20%/20%; and 10/[any number]/[any number] will always report 700%/30%/30%. I haven't been able to determine if Blind Power and Weaken Power are actually increasing the potency of their respective statuses or not, but they are definitely failing to report doing so.
