The Departing Thread
Leaving Kongregate indefinitely. I don’t even know what the hell is going on, and apparently no one wants to tell me. What great friends I have.

Two years ago, July 6, 2010, there was an Official CocoaPuff310 avatar week.

Actually, in Tinychat, someone randomly reminisced about CocoaPuff310 avatar week, so I linked to the thread. LukeMann pointed out that the thread was made almost exactly two years ago, which was rather interesting, and a little creepy.

Ohey, MFT. You’re one of the people we were looking for. Are you going to join us on the road trip?

OT party van (road trip) (7/20/2013)
Heya mates, I’ve set up a Steam group for the OT Party Van. We’re going to primarily use that chat to discuss things rather than the Kongregate Tinychat.

OT party van (road trip) (7/20/2013)
So, here’s the plan so far. My parents rent an RV here in Maryland. Everyone has to pitch in money for this. I drive to Montgomery county with Zachary_Greene to pick up MFT. Then I get everyone else on the east side and we start driving across the country to meet other OTers, or something like that.

Because you said you wanted to come. We’ll work out the details. The list isn’t written in stone, anyway.

East Coast Kongregate Meetup [Official]
Some people in Tinychat wanted an east coast Kongregate meetup, so sure, why not? RSVP here and join this Facebook group, if you want to. We’re spamming suggestions in the Tinychat right now, so feel free to join us.
Attendees:
Myself
Zamininc
LukeMann
ArcadianFire
holleratthesunn (not confirmed)
MFT (not confirmed)
EDIT: Zamininc’s thread is a RIP OFF. Seriously, though, this one is official. I’m the organizer manager person thing of this meetup.

Here’s a 140×140 version. I couldn’t get the same font, but I tried to match up the colors as well as possible.

It’s better than a 40×40 square in a 140×140 space, I suppose. Although if you really want that retro CocoaPuff310 look, go with the original avatar.

Subtle sarcasm vs. Blatant sarcasm
Did you know that losing the ability to detect subtle sarcasm and/or blatant lies could be a sign of dementia?!

Totally not a huge stretch or anything.

So somebody walks up to you and tells you that one of your friends is in the hospital.
I would text this person and give them support. Then I would find out that the pills they’re taking make them “so horny,” and that they can’t wait to “get in bed” with LukeMann.

Does anyone here have experience with formatted and overwritten hard drives?

What? No, you can definitely recover things off a formatted drive. It gets complicated once you start rewriting data, such as reinstalling your operating system.

I got a virus that killed my computer, so I had to format it, and lost everything.
Well, silly you for rewriting (and for not having a good antivirus installed). Was it a laptop or a desktop?

Mkay, so I’ve got Kroll Ontrack EasyRecovery Home demo version running, alongside a pirated copy of EasyRecovery Professional. If these things can’t recover the files, I might consider getting a $65 hard drive evaluation from Kroll Ontrack, to see what’s actually recoverable and what isn’t.

T’wasn’t my choice, mate. I wasn’t even the person who installed it or used it.

I’ve got a hard drive from a laptop that came with Windows 7, was formatted, overwritten with Windows 7 (I did not modify or create any files after this fresh install, however, it is likely that someone else attempted to recover files from it, although I have no information on what method(s) they may have used), formatted again, overwritten with Linux Ubuntu (tons of files were created and modified on this operating system), formatted again, and is currently overwritten with Windows 7 (I’m using this install on this drive right now). How likely is it that I’ll be able to recover files from the original install of Windows 7?
