Also MAX OUT Knight PASSIVES, they will help insanely. Get Apollo shield, it is an amazing team “shield”. It costs 45 rage, it has a minute CD, but it reduces ALL incoming damage by 20%. I suggest you put 2 points or max out intercept after you get Apollo, a con with Apollo is that it lasts 2-3 turns. With intercept he damage goes from 400-1,500-3,000 AND -40 through 50 rage (+10 rage burn QTE) it takes 25 rage but the CD is 60.
One thing I would say to avoid is Enhanced Delphic Destroyer at all costs.
- lots of damage (…sort of)
- 100 rage
- long charge up time (worldboss gets in an attack before you do. regular delphic cuts in first.)
- 5 separate hits, which kills yourself against other knights with Reverse Damage
- high levels/many additional skill points required to get 2 points in it for QTE bonus, which forces you to spend in the dmg tree instead of the defense tree
Also, avoid Shadow Thrasher except as a pre-requisite for Tenacity/Apollo’s Shield – it sucks for all the same reasons. The the damage isn’t good, you lose rage, bleed is crap, it takes too long, it’s multi-hit. It’s basically awful.
Do however get our AoE. It’s absolutely wonderful at lvl 2+ with the QTE bonus (it sucks at 1, however. You have to get lv 2 for it to start to shine) if you have decent PAtk and will help you massively in PvE and battlegrounds. It’ll let you cut through people who put their troops in front to block you much faster – a good BG tactic is to AoE first turn, then spend the rest of the fight using Slasher/UltiSlasher saving up enough rage to AoE the next person you fight – so their troops always start off hurt and aren’t in your way.
Get at least 2 points in UltiSlash for the QTE, get at least 2 in Agoran Shield (3 isn’t necessary except pre-reqs). Do get Enhanced Block and grab a block astral if you can – 4% healing every hit with enough defense means people are sometimes healing you for more than they hit for. Intercept is situationally useful, but I haven’t found a reason to put a point in it yet. Absolutely get the 10 rage per hit skill, and the 15% dmg increase, max them both.
One big thing – keep Reverse Damage at your level all the time. Against people with high Defense, people who AoE or multihit (like archers), Reverse Damage is a killer because it’s undodgeable, unblockable, and lasts forever until the charges run out. At level 3 with QTE, it’s 1000 dmg every time they hit you, and is like casting a 10k damage DoT in one turn, in practice. 1500 if the fight goes over a minute, 2000 if over two minutes – there are times when it does more damage than you do, as it ignores def! Reverse Damage + Shield will be your best friend fighting high level archers (assuming comparable BR) – they basically kill themselves on you. And this is why HP/def is very, very important to a Knight – our shield is based on our Max HP and we can turtle behind it while our reflect damage/regular attacks kill things.
This is pretty rambly, huh? :P Hope that helped in some way.
