>Fallout: New Vegas

I dunno why but New Vegas wasn’t very appealing, the only real main area was the Strip and the bordering area, but the rest of the map was sort of small areas with no real purpose other than travelling to New Vegas and companions.

Also, I know there are more games (obviously) but these are the only ones I’ve actually played, so it would be unfair for me to place them here

Apart from video bugs, the major one being it cuts out the video for about 20 seconds, I don’t think I seen any game bugs. He fights two dragons at the end of it, pretty epic :D

I ventured deep through this tunnel, I had been going for at least an hour. I eventually came to the beautiful sight of daylight seeping in from a grate just ahead. I climbed out triumphantly, feeling like I had won an epic battle. It was not that glorious, but in my head it was a great achievement just to have escaped. I wipe my shoulders as I stand casually, looking around. I was in an abandoned town, it seemed strange to find a sewers grate here. There lay 4 houses at one side of the main road, another 2 at the other side with a general store beside the 2 houses. It was getting darker, the sun was setting soon. I suppose I was lucky I came out at this point, 6 homes and a general store. Before I inspected any homes I decided to check for any clue to where I was and how far I was from London. I seemed to have travelled some great miles, but it had to be an exaggeration. I could see a sign post, saying how far I was from a city. I walked up, and as the sign became clearer my heart was pounding heavy, my forehead starting to sweat more. I read the sign aloud to be accept where I was to be the truth.
“2 miles to… to…” I didn’t have to finish, someone finished it for me.
“Glasgow.” Star butted in, she scared me I had no idea she was behind me.
“Star? What are you doing out here?!” I ask, I couldn’t believe on top of all things Star had followed me.
“Mutant Camp… it was attacked. By NUO. Care to explain how they found us?” She asks, I didn’t even notice the gun she was aiming at my head.

“Star, I swear to you, I am not working with NUO.” I say, I tried my charm and being calm but it wasn’t working, my nerves were already going mad.
“Can it Raig, I trusted you! How did they find us?” She asks, clearly in a much more aggressive tone.
“Star! Trust me, please! I must have been followed! They must have been watching you! I don’t know, I swear to you I don’t know!” I claim, I knew my life was on the line here. I could see her ready to pull the trigger, although the grate was suddenly bursting with noise. Water flew out of the grate in a large fountain.
“What the hell was that?!” Star screams as her attention changes from me to the explosion of sewage.
“The NUO must have set off a bomb or something, the whole cave must have been flooded. We have to get out of here, they’ll be looking for you if they seen you escape.” I explain, she didn’t trust me but she wasn’t stupid, she knew she had to flee too. She lowers her gun back into her holster and sighs heavily.
“Okay, but one bad move and I blow your head up. Where to?” She asks, I guess it now makes sense why she had a Scottish accent.
“Only place we can for now. We go to Glasgow.” I say, her face goes pale.
“Raig, Glasgow isn’t what it used to be. It’s full of aggressive people, they kill anyone that’s mutant. That’s why we fled. We have to go somewhere else, please.” She exclaims, she was terrified.
“It’s our only choice, Star.” I say in a demanding tone, she knew it was our only chance of survival.

Me and Star had been talking for almost an hour, she told me that she loved this camp no matter it’s problems. I respected her, she had courage and brains, she knew what had to be done no matter the consequences. She remind me of… well, me. She told me her family died after bringing Star to London, they sacrificed themselves to give Star a future. But what kind of future was this? Hiding deep under the city, afraid to leave. I blamed no-one but the NUO. I knew the NUO, but we can get into that later. I told Star that up above, it wasn’t so bad as long as she hid her power. She simply replied with a basic ‘No’, nothing more, nothing less.
“Star, I really must get out of here. How do I get out of here?” I ask her, quite sure that they were a good distance from any exit.
“Through that tunnel, not the one you came from. It’s not lit though.” Star told me, but I remembered my torch. I went to grab it from my pocket only to realise it wasn’t there. Luckily Star pulled it from her pocket, blushing.
“I hope you don’t mind, I found it laying beside you. I modified it a little, it has a battery recharge modulator attachment. Custom made, just get some electricity near it and it’ll instantly recharge it’s power.” Star explained, I liked the sound of that. I grabbed the torch and started walking into the dark tunnel, I hit the switch and it lit up beautifully. I started walking, realising it was a long walk ahead of me.

I woke up from a shroud of blackness and look around, I seemed to be in an infirmary of some sort. I turned to sit up, breathing heavy as I do so. I was very weak right now, what happened? I force my body to stand up, I tumble forward onto the ground. I could hear the footsteps come in, and a sudden gasp.
“My goodness, why are you out of bed? Come on, let’s get you to sit down around the fire, you’re very weak right now.” Says a woman’s voice, I could feel her soft hands help me up. I turn to inspect her appearance, she was brunette hair and sparkly green eyes, she was very thin and about 5"8 tall. She was young, about 17 or 18, around my age. She smiles at me, I had no idea I was even smiling at her until I came out of the staring trance.
“Thank you, miss…?” I question, wondering her name. It would be smart to know the people here, they could come in handy some time.
“Oh, no one down here uses their real name. You can call me Star, though. What about you?” She asks me, I wanted to use a fake name but my mind was weak, I couldn’t think of anything, so I was forced to use my real name.
“I’m Raig, Raig Aida. Where are we, Star?” I ask, saddened that I couldn’t use my imagination to create a whole new personality.
“Well, you’re in Mutant Camp. Yeah, for a camp of people who can make up fake names on the spot we had trouble with a camp name clearly.” She giggles as she sits me down on a metal seat beside a bin fire. Star wore black trainers, with ‘Puma’ written on the side, tracksuit trousers with two white stripes going down the side and a hoodie with ‘No Fear’ written on the back with a certain style. It was an strange look, even nowadays. She sat beside me, staring into the fire.

“So Star, you said this place was a Mutant Camp. You have abilities?” I asked, intrigued that she could have possible powers.
“Well, I can heal myself. I’m currently training myself to heal others. I hope you don’t mind but I used you as a test dummy, you really cracked your head open back there. All better, but it didn’t last long so we stitched you up. I fixed your skull though, I feel quite proud of that.” Star says, clearly proud that she was developing her powers.
“Very interesting, I’m sure that’s came in handy for you.” I mention, in awe that she saved my life. “Thank you, for saving my life.” I added, she took it by surprise. She must not have been thanked before.
“Why… you’re… you’re welcome, Raig. So, what about you? Why are you down here?” Star asks, as a hairy beast walks by and hands us both a cup of tea.
“Very long story.” I say bluntly, I feel she wasn’t really interested, but only asking so because I thanked her.
“We have time.” She replies, very fast I may ask. She smiles, and sips her tea as I tell her how I got to here.

I open my eyes slightly, everything was still blurry and wavy, I could feel I was in some sort of bed, and there were two figures in front of me this time, a man and a woman. I could hear what they were saying even though it came through partially impaired.
“We have to get him out of here, it’s a risk to our invisibility from anyone, and that includes NUO. If they find us it’ll be shoot to kill, because we won’t go down without a fight.” The man says, clearly worried I’ll reveal them to their enemy. They must be mutants, hiding underground. It seemed depressing, being extraordinary and you’re reduced to hiding in the sewers.
“Look, he has to recover, he would have died out there without our help! Let me talk to him, I’ll make sure we never get found.” The woman says, obviously worrying for my health more than her friends out there. Everything closes in on itself as I fall asleep, the last thing I saw was some sort of hairy beast tranquillizing me in the neck.

[School, will be back soon :D]

The fall down was unmerciful, both my legs collapsed as I roared in agony, falling into the puddle. I mistook it for deep water, but it was a puddle, must be grates below to let water flow though. It took all my energy but I attempted to lift myself up from the puddle, my back was soaking wet from the water below me, and my hair and face was being soaked by the rebounding water from the fall. I got up to a crouching stance, even this took too much energy and caused me a lot of pain, which cause me to fall onto my front. I began to crawl into the lit cave, it seemed to be lit due to small bulbs on a wire, pinned up against both sides of the wall leading all the way through. It took a lot of my energy but I crawled. I began to go unconscious, my vision went blurry as the cave seemed to sway from side to side, the last thing I could remember before going unconscious was the sight of the shadowy figure of a person. A woman, from the looks of it. My head dropped, although I felt nothing as my head smacked the cave floor.

[Night all ^^]

I had been travelling these sewers for what seemed an eternity, no sign of an exit, and the torch was starting to flicker on and off. I knew I was running out of time, but I hadn’t come this far just to die down here in the darkness, the instinct of survival kept me going. It wasn’t until I got to an area my survival instincts couldn’t further me, only the ones who didn’t care if they died would go further, and I cared for my life. It was large drop, at least going 20 feet down, it must have opened up due to decay but I could see light coming from a cave system down there. It would be suicide making a jump down, but if I fell in the water that fell down I might live. I decided my survival was more important than eternal darkness, so I jumped into the water and looked below to the drop. I sigh, not of fear, but exhaustion and yet relief. If anything, this was the end of the sewers, I was going somewhere completely different.

I jumped, making sure I was landing in water, aiming my feet correctly. It was a short drop but it felt like forever, and that light I seen wasn’t a glorious exit, it was deeper descent into madness and delusions. It was an underground camp, holding 12 people. But we aren’t there yet, I skipped some of this recap. I still have to tell you how I got there, and what happened in between this.

I hurried across the room, the rubble breaking through the cellar door was pushing a lot of weight onto the door. I could hear the latches start to reach their breaking point, the screws started to become loose, starting to fall off. I quickly put the key into the keyhole of the unmarked door perfectly. The door slowly opened itself, it must have been automatic. As soon as I got in I grabbed the key, the door locking behind me. I could hear a massive crash, the rubble must have piled into the cellar. Only way out now was through here, which was a small room with a sewer grate. So through the sewers I planned to go, so I lifted up the grate and dropped down. It was very dark, I couldn’t see anything outside of the light circle coming from the room above. No way up, the ladders was completely tore off and in pieces, laying beside where it should be standing. I grabbed the torch and flicked the switch, it lit up brightly as everything became more clear. I could only go one way, the other way was blocked off by a large gate, no way through. I start walking the only way I could, staying clear of the contaminated, and probably irradiated, water and walk on the side walkway. I only hoped the torch had enough battery to get me to an exit.

I scroll the mouse over ‘Personal Log’ and click the left button. I begin reading the log in order from date. No years were listed, but the month and day are marked.

January 14th: Only had this damn bar a few years, was my pa’s. He never wanted me to see this monitor, guess he encrypted his own logs before he died. I see them here but I can’t access them. I guess I should make my own log, could help keep myself sane.

January 28th: Raig’s been swiping more beer behind my back. If I didn’t know any better I’d say he could sniff the crates of booze down here. And that Giarc friend of his, he’s a fly little bastard with those hands of his. Swiped my door key I don’t know how many times, seen on CCTV him and Raig sneak in after hours at least once a month. I have to keep that key somewhere safer, seeing as it also opens the cellar.

February 5th: Okay, things got fucked up yesterday. Celine really screwed us over for those weapons, Sophie was there. I have no idea why, but she looked beautiful as usual. I was focussed though, had to keep focussed. Celine had goons hiding, waiting to ambush us! God damn it, and Sophie seen it all, imagine! The girl I like seen me get my ass handed to me. Fantastic.

There was a major bug because the rest was just random gibberish. I realised ‘Buyers’ seemed a waste right now, I could check later if I needed to find a name in there. But now I needed to figure out how to get out of here, so I started opening the drawers. The top right was empty, so was bottom right and top left. The lower left drawer had a key and a torch, and a box of 12 Gauge ammunition. I grabbed the key, torch and refilled my Shotgun Fist’s ammo. The key has to open that unmarked door out there, and that must be a way out. I exited the room, the rubble starting to fall in in larger portions now. I had to hurry.

I had the two homeless working for low wage, looking for Sophie. I, meanwhile, had searched through the rubble of the old bar for any trace of those print off’s. The support beams lay up, sticking through the rocky rubble remains of Afterparty. It was depressing knowing I had no-where to go for a drink any more. I started by shifting some rubble, and I did this for the next hour. I eventually got to the bottom of one pile, and seen a cellar door. It was brown, looked very strong so it hasn’t been wore away in anyway, and unfortunately in needed a key. Luckily I had my shotgun fist, so I punched into the door, blasting it down, causing it to rebound up and open. I slowly climbed in, fully aware that I could be trapped down here at any time. I climbed down several ladders, turned to see stocks of beer, explicit DVD’s. Phil must have been selling this stuff privately, that could come in handy later. The cellar was into 3 rooms, the middle room which I was currently in, and two separate doors to each of my side. On the right was labelled ‘Security’, the idea that Phil could have had backups excited me. To the right the label on the door was marked out, and required a key. It wasn’t wore down and it was metal, probably quite thick judging from here. I could try punching through but I don’t think I could get through it without a key or a remote console activation. My only option for now was security I figured, so I slowly creaked open the door and, to my suspicions, was another monitor. As soon as I sat down I could here several shifting sounds, I assumed my homeless workers had planned to find me here. To my dismay the cellar door was slammed shut, some rubble falling through the hole I made in the door. I was trapped.

I had to make the best of my situation. Okay Raig, think glass half full here, now I have solitude to study this console I think to myself as I sit on the seat in front of the console. I press the power button, luckily Phil didn’t have a password. I was in immediately, unfortunately I only had few options. ‘CCTV Footage, Personal Log, Buyers’ was my options, the rest seemed to be bugged. I started with CCTV footage, I just take the DVD, I had no time to exam it. I slipped the disk into a disk cover, then concealed it into my inside pocket.
“Personal log? This could be interesting.” I say to myself, feeling that thinking things is pointless when you’re trapped alone.

Raig

After a long sleep I lay quietly on my bed. I stared at the dusty ceiling, recapping the events of the previous night. Phil is dead, the bar is gone, Sophie is most surely dead. The shape shifter is still out there. Then I jump up, alerted to what we had missed.
The print off’s! I think to myself, they had burned to the ground most surely. I seen Giarc still snoozing on the other bed, he deserves it. He saved my life, I think I should give him a break today. I grabbed my duster from the coat hanger on the wall beside the door and slid my arms comfortably into into it. My favourite duster, found this few years back. Before I met Giarc, I was travelling down from Scotland. Everyone there was dying of famine and murder. I got out, somewhere in North England I found a Halloween clothes shop with clown costumes, superman outfits. The duster had instantly caught my attention, hanging there so lonesome without the matching hat. Someone must have took the hat but left the duster, might not like dusters or maybe already had one and has a hat fetish.

I remember the day I got the duster, but it was how I got my magnum that’s most interesting. I was lost in a forest somewhere in East Wales, I wanted to visit there first. I didn’t have a destination, except away from Scotland and it’s streets full of death and a looming gloomy atmosphere. I was knocked out, to this day I have no idea who did it. But when I awoke the magnum was there, laying in front of me. 6 bullets lay around it, all pointing to the magnum in a circular form. Each bullet had a carving on them, I suppose it was for certain circumstances. ‘Heroism, Friendship, Betrayal, Anger, Freedom’ and finally there was the one left, it was golden. More shiny than the rest, and on it was carved ‘One Last Shot’. It intrigued me, what intrigued me more was that from that 1 I had fired it seems to have fired Friendship. Good coincidence, that’s what I left it to.

So now that you know how I came across my duster and magnum, I suppose you’ve already learned too much about me. I opened the door, silently closing it behind me. The door eerily creeks as I close it, which was nor surprise seeing as it was very worn out. I looked over the banister to the parking lot below us, two homeless stood around a barrel fire. I walked down the stairs and approached them, cautiously of course. In this day and age it would be no surprise if you got mugged, in fact it was almost strange if it doesn’t happen to you. The two men, the left one had one eye and a bandage covering the other eye. He had long greasy hair and only had some teeth in that dirty jaw of his. The other one was taller and fatter, bald and wore glasses from sunshades (the lenses had been smashed open). The smaller of them seen me and looked to his friend, nodding his head in my direction. The two men look over at me, either planning an attack strategy or in fear of being attacked.
“Excuse me gents, you wouldn’t happen to be interested in some work, would you? I’d be willing to pay you £20, altogether.” I ask, hoping to have some people to help track down Sophie. One of two things would happen, they would fail and say they found her anyway, or they would find her. The taller man looks to the one eyed friend and then looks back at me. He nods, possibly hoping the silent characteristic would help him seem stronger than he really is.

“Wow, easy Giarc, easy! I can prove it’s me!” I shout, worried that my best friend was about to cut my throat wide open. Phil coughs, alerting us he’s stepping outside.
“Just going for a smoke gents, be back when one of you is dead.” He smirks as he walks out the room.
“Prove it then!” Giarc shouted into my face, I could feel him looking in my eyes.
“When we first met I told you about-” I never got to finish that sentence. The whole room had been set aflame by the time I opened my eyes. Giarc was slapping me in the face trying to awake me. His voice was a blur, nothing was in focus. I could see the flames curl around us as we slowly became trapped.
“Raig! Raig, get your lazy ass up!” Giarc shouted as he lifted me from my limp body. He threw my arm over his neck as he dragged me out. The structure was falling apart, the patrons had been stabbed several times I noted as we passed their limp dead bodies. The whole second floor was coming down on us, Giarc was a hero that day.

Phil was outside, looking worried.
“What the hell happened to you guys?” Phil said in worry, more in grief for his bar and patrons than for our almost death. He sobs, Giarc lowered me onto the ground so I could gather my energy. Giarc was talking to Phil, no.. shouting at him. Giarc started walking away for him, possibly gathering his thoughts. I could see Phil pull out a pistol and aim for Giarc’s head.

Giarc wasn’t the only hero that day.

I quickly pulled out my magnum, and fired at Phil’s head. 5 bullets left, 1 well spent. Giarc turned around in astonishment as Phil fell firstly to his knees, then to his face. I fell back on my head, my magnum safely back in its holster.
