“Imp the Chieftain” should be changed to “Chieftain Imp”
“Scarab Pyramids” >> “Scarab of the Pyramids” or “Pyramid Scarab”
“Magic Beetle Pharaoh” >> “Pharaoh Beetle” or “Magic Beetle”. You could also call it “Magic Pharaoh Beetle”, but this is awkward.
“Ancient Scarab Pharaoh” >> “Ancient Scarab”

“Poisoned Robin Hood” means that Robin hood is going to need a cure or he may die. It does not mean he shoots poisoned arrows. There is no short way to write that in English. “Poisonous Robin Hood” would not work either, because the poison must refer to his arrows, not him. “Robin Hood, Archer of Poison” is the shortest correct way.

“Disciple of Magician of Water” should be changed to either “Disciple of the Magicians of Water” or, to save space, “Disciple of the Water Magi”.
“Magician Earth Disciple” is incorrect, but any of the following could work: “Earth Magician Disciple” (ugly, but technically correct), “Earth Magician”, “Earth Disciple”, or “Disciple of the Earth Magi”
You get “Dark Magician” correct and “Dark Magician Disciple” correct.
“Fire/Lightning Mage” are correct, but change “Disciple of Fire/Lightning Magician” to any of the correct forms cited above.
Magus (singular) and Magi (plural) could be shorter alternatives for Magician (singular) and Magicians (plural) if you wanted that too.
Similarly, “Ayla, Widow of Elven King” should be “Ayla, Widow of the Elven King”, or “Ayla, the Elven King’s Widow”
“Guardian of Endless Wave” should be “Guardian of the Endless Wave” or “Guardian of Endless Waves”
Fix “Keeper of Erupted Spark” and “Adept of Guild of Flame” for the same reason, such as to “Keeper of Erupted Sparks” and “Adept of the Guild of Flames”.

“Tree Dark Forest”, “Wolf Deadwood”, and “Wolf Dark Thicket” should be changed to “Dark Forest Tree”, “Deadwood Wolf”, and “Dark Thicket Wolf”. Again, you get the noun-adjective order correct most of the time, such as for “Crazy Cactus”, “Experienced Duelist”, etc.

Here is a more tricky fix that requires you to look at it on a case-by-case basis. A lot of the units have names that take the mistaken form of the possessive case. While it IS appropriate for some noun phrases, the case is different for titles. Where you write “Demon’s Shadow”(unit) “Baked Zombie’s Lord”(unit) or “Ghost’s Party”(level), they are more properly written “Demon Shadow”, “Baked Zombie Lord”, and “Ghost party”. You do get this correct a lot of the time though. For example, “Church Servant”(unit) is correct as you have it, instead of “Church’s Servant”. Just double-check the shadows, levels, and other units. Also, some instances have ambiguity, so you are ok not changing them. The level “Ancient rest” could equally be “Ancient’s Rest” (or Rest of the Ancients) because “ancient” can be used as a noun or an adjective.

Topic: Forge of Gods / Merger - Request for proposal

At the moment, we at Pork Swords are voting to have you merge with us. It looks promising and we should come up with enough slots for a dozen or so players. The primary concern at this point is whether we can make the transition to a cohesive guild afterwards. There is the danger that 2 groups of people, well known to each other, might develop “us vs. them” cliquish mentality, which has been observed in the past for similar scenarios. A guild that joins together can leave together. I however feel confident that we can reach each others’ hearts and minds. I’ll let you know what we have decided in 3 days.

Topic: Forge of Gods / New grades for 5 star creatures.

Wow! I’m excited you are planning this! If I had to choose, I’d spread out the categories so each type gets as equal treatment as possible. I’d pick 3 from each race: 1 support, 1 ranged, and 1 melee. So, it would be
DEMON-Ancient Horror Darkshire, Ophelia Lost in Eternity, Undead Orc Hero
BEAST-The Gray-Haired Monkey King, Horrible Rusty Giant, Orc General
HUMAN-Grein, The Light of Dawn, Aydrien, Last Sniper, and Rotael, Punisher of the Fallen
This seems like fair treatment, should you decide not to update all T2 units in one session.

Also, if you are good at saving gems period, such as storing up your 5 gem level up rewards to help boost you over for the 25 gem daily quests, upgrading gem mine ASAP, saving rewards from guilds and dev gifts, and not accidentally buying units you don’t need via tripleclick in the wrong spot, it might be a good idea to confess your mad gem saving skills here in case one day you are flagged as a cheater for it. The time I have invested in this game means enough to me that I am willing to admit my fear of losing it all over technicalities.

Topic: Forge of Gods / F2P and preparing to spend a lot of gems at once? Post here.

If you have been playing F2P and saving gems to blow them all on a holiday or event crypt like me, beware that you could be marked as a cheater. I have spoken with players and can cite at least 1 case of a player quitting due to the hassles of this nature. Whether he was an actual cheater doesn’t matter to me because I don’t trust ego-sensitive answers on either side and several people marked as cheaters have had to throw themselves helplessly at the mercy of the devs. This detention is intolerable, so I propose a solution.

I think people should post here to inform Panoramik what days they will be planning to spend their gems if it is a very high amount. For example, I plan to spend over 10K gems in the Halloween crypt when it appears. I do not want to wait days for the devs to give me their rubber stamp of approval after a PM, since the event may end before that time. They are busy people anyways! Posting here should allow for players and devs to save time with all that hassle via a quick reference if the worst happens.

Will this prevent you from being marked as a cheater? Not by an automatic system. Will this help rescue your account if accused falsely? I don’t know.

But it’s better than nothing. I know some of you are afraid of spending gems, so I thought this topic might help.

Topic: Forge of Gods / Suggestions for balancing T1 and T2 units

I’m glad to hear you liked it!

Should you ever decide on this, I got to thinking about how these balancing changes could be made. It would be useful to have a formula that distills each stat into some “power” value. Now, you probably already have this formula in great detail (or even a little app that allows you to drag a slider for power and distribute points), so I will comment no further on that.

I envisaged each class of unit in the same tier given the same “power” and their stats adjusted based on what they look like. So using the above example, the forest archer could have more speed and and plant would have less speed, but more hp. Being a beast, the plant would have more att but less def. Obviously the stats would not be 1:1 (unless the combat system was normalized) and the magnitudes of difference are your creative license because the formula equated them. Lastly, each class (stout, attacker, etc.) would have different weights for each stat. That way, archers and stouts in the same tier and grade would have the same power even though the sum of the stats differ.

Unfortunately, this formula does not take 2 characteristics into account:

1) Unit abilities. A balanced unit with weaker stats but a better ability is not a trivial challenge. Your best judgement might be good enough that differences from the ideal “perfect” value is negligible, especially considering the large numbers involved and the random number generation in combat. Besides, there isn’t a straightforward way of testing abilities because synergies are highly variable. It might only make sense to balance aura abilities that directly modify raw stats, which you seem to have already done.

2) Unit rarity. Some factor would have to account for why same grade, but higher tier, seasonal, and guild/rankings crypt units are better. You will probably be fine invoking creative license here too, based on your intuition about the gem economy.

Anyways, should this “master formula” ever be invented and put into an app, upgrading T1/T2 units (or any units in future updates) would be as easy as dragging a slider on a screen. The same goes for making new units. Perhaps most of all, it would let you hypothesize what a grade 1000 boar would look like.

Cheers,

As an additional balancing issue, the T2 human Forest ranger has an identical ability to the beast T2 yellow plant and, to a lesser degree, the demon T2 bone thrower (guild crypt only). While I understand the demon should be more powerful because of his rarity, I don’t understand why the archer must be so much more powerful than the plant. All of her base stats are higher. It’s not like some stats are higher and others are lower. It doesn’t seem fair that units with the same tier and ability should be “better” than others.

Topic: Forge of Gods / Suggestions for balancing T1 and T2 units

The last major update doubled the grades available to T3 and T5 units. Here is a discussion about the merits of extending the unit upgrade, so T1 units would have a max of VIII and T2 have XII. I would like this to be considered as an option for a future update by addressing both sides of the coin.

Arguments for:

1) More strategic diversity since the tiers overlap more.

2) Dark tree. Demon armies can once more favor “retribution” styles in late game, rather than rely on raw stats like the beasts. Humans kept Block and Transform viable with the T3/T5 upgrade, so Demons should be able to keep damage returned.

3) Little developer effort (no artwork, no new abilities) is required for this new content

4) Continues the already existing trend

5) Without it, there is a large divide in power between tiers. This means more of a difference between f2P and p2w.

6) Tier 2 units from guild/rankings crypts (e.g. His Fatness, Brombool) would be more interesting. Usually by the time you can get them, they are not useful for long, if at all.

7) Some of the T2 units are just plain cool and it would be nice to keep them in later game stages.

8) Balancing issues can be addressed by making them sufficiently difficult to upgrade. I recommend 2 of the same tier and grade unit, plus a T3 side mat. This might seem harsh, but it will prevent these upgraded units from overwhelmingly displacing T3 units of equal level, which are harder to farm.

Arguments against and solutions:

1) There may be too many units to manage. COUNTER: increase army size cap. People now need gems more than ever.

2) Instead of improve Dark Tree, damage return aura could be added to a new T3/T5 demon unit. Several units have identical abilities, but are higher tier (e.g. green dragon and wasp swarm) COUNTER: This is a false dilemma. Doing BOTH is an option too. These ideas aren’t mutually exclusive.

3) T1/T2 units may need to be upgraded in different ways than the T3/T5 units because the logical extension of side mats (equal tier, but lower grade units) might be too easy to acquire. COUNTER: Again, high upgrade requirements for advancing T1/T2 units makes them just as hard to upgrade.

4) Upgrading T1/T2 is not necessary if you introduce more creatures with similar abilities on both sides of the “gap”. That way, players in the T3/T5 league can have as many strategies as those in the T2/T1 league. COUNTER: This requires a large leap in content. It would mess up pre-existing levels and make the new units difficult to obtain without reassigning monsters in most levels. New levels or an additional difficulty level would lessen this, but that is also a difficult leap in content.

Balancing issues
Ability progression in the T3/T5 upgrade was truncated, so it would make sense that T1/T2 Auras/abilities will increase little, if at all (e.g. Dark Tree aura should probably cap at 75% or 80%).

I hope this is received well and easily understood. If you have any followups or counter-arguments, I’d be happy to hear them!

Another suggestion. Common cards become obsolete when you replace them with better. To keep variety, take into consideration a way to add sockets to cards allowing them to be upgraded with some kind of rune or gem etc; where common cards have sockets, but rares and onward do not!

That way, when people find these reagents they can make a previously obsolete card like rouse or lesser flame usable again, and it won’t break the game for new players because you have to acquire these components to upgrade the lesser cards.

There would be more variation in deck-building as a whole.

make the [hide online status] box unchecked by default. I noticed that every time you re-log into the game it is back to [hidden]

This is extremely annoying because almost everyone forgets to uncheck it every single time they log in.

Furthermore this makes it very hard to organize brawls because you have no idea who is logged in, and the league message board has to be periodically looked at and gets filled with “ANYBODY HERE?” and “CAN ANYBODY BRAWL” posts (prevailant in almost all leagues due to this problem).
