I honestly couldn’t be bothered reading past the part where you said that anyone who signs up to the military should become killers, FireJakz. Clearly you play too many video games. To be civilized people we should never, ever force anyone to kill another human being. It’s just sick and wrong, and some of those young men will be scarred for life. Or more likely you were kidding. SWF on Kong would be way, way better, IMO. It’ll just fall into the endless number of blogs and will fail to be successful. On an SWF, people can chat while they read it, and it might even make it into the popular new games thing—you never know. Plus, my layout can be used (just as soon as I finish it. :P).

Alright. I have more to say. Firstly, I say trash the profit idea. With zero operating costs should come zero profit, and only those who are committed will work for nothing. See Open Source.

Secondly, test your recruits. Just saying they can write means nothing. Have some standards. Don’t chase after people who file one article and never come back. Have high standards in general, actually. Don’t waste your time fixing their spelling and grammar.

Third, start a topic about what people want to see in such a paper. Gossip doesn’t work for sites as young as Kong. Game strategies are much more interesting. Interviews and such could be good too. People like contests…

And finally, just keep an air of professionalism. Take as long as you need, there’s no pressure.

You guys need a better interface, didn’t have much time so I threw this together in Photoshop in a few minutes, have .PSD if you want. If used fine print at bottom “Interface by Slipstream” appreciated. No money needed. I’ll make sure to make a nicer one when I have more time.

While I don’t really agree with the OP, postage can be annoying. From Australia, the price is pretty crazy just to get a nice little code and a few pieces of paper—otherwise I would have already sent in. Not sure how it can be replaced but remain a cost effective for both parties, though.

We have that. Where your decks are as you join a game, choose Random All. Your opponent probably won’t, though, so it’s not exactly your suggestion.

I’m not understanding the hate here. It costs the same as a DS, and yet it runs on Open Source, meaning anyone can write for it. With community support, it could have a large library of free games. Have any of you guys actually seen more then a picture of this device? No? Then don’t call it clumsy. I quite like the idea, and if it takes off, will buy one.

Just repeat this in your head. A powerful Linux system in your pocket, able to play hundreds of free games for just around 200 pounds. With Open Source so anyone can modify it.

As far as I know, this is due to enourmous server strain, generally around when new challenges come up. It doesn’t tend to happen much any more, ever since we got the new server.
