Topic: Battle Conquest / Races

No, Elf is because their longbows have the most range and missile… We all know this can go on forever. As the1templar said, it depends on how you use them. Races are built that way. You face an Elf infantry against a DL infantry and they’ll lose. Elves should use their arrows to weaken the enemy before they approach, possible reducing morale low enough that they retreat in contact with their HI, and use superior speed to outflank and chase down the enemy. Dwarves have quick HI and the best infantry; therefore they are able to position their HI in the best fighting positions and hold down an optimal area, but their cav are too slow to catch up to artillery.

They all have strengths and weaknesses; it’s how you use these and exploit those of your opponent that determines who will win the fight, not which one is best. If one race were better than another, the devs would rebalance it.

Bombing an enemy’s food supplies feels a LOT more satisfying than nukes.

Does it show me how many planets I had 20 turns ago? Or 100? If it does, where is it? I can’t seem to find it…

I see that it does use a turn, but a normal attack against a stronger empire would have no effect in the first place, as their military would most likely repel a small attack. So if one wanted to damage a stronger empire without risking their own military in the attack, they could use nukes, as a normal attack wouldn’t have any chance of damage.

Personally I see it as more of a way to “get back” at a stronger opponent for attacking you when you don’t have the forces to attack him normally; which makes it similar to any other attack.

The thing is, nukes make an excellent deterrent. Sure, they can’t steal planets, but nobody likes the idea of losing their planets to missiles regardless of their defenses save defense stations. Nuke attacks do not rely on the size of your military compared to theirs; instead, it relies on how many nukes you have compared to how many defense stations they have. It’s the reason I bother to upgrade missile defense for my defense stations; I’m always nervous about a missile counterattack.

It would be cool if you would add a graph or something to show how your empire has grown over time, like # of planets of each type, net worth, score, military numbers, money, food, income, etc. over the past turns, or even to the beginning. I’d love to see how far my empire has grown, or how much income I’m making now as opposed to when I had less population…

@sessachi: You can check you own attack history by pressing the button at the top that says “My Profile”. There you’ll see something similar to what you would see when clicking on someone else’s name, with a tab saying “Attack History”.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Starpires] Help on Population

I’m pretty sure that taxes can provide the highest income out of all other sources of income, and on top of that it’s adjustable. Mining planets don’t give much at all, tourism gives a bit more, and petroleum can’t be spammed, but taxes give enormous amounts of money, so urban planets are probably the best way to go. You do however have to watch you civil mood, as MorganC32 said, and you need to have many food planets and government planets to keep the population stable. Education planets are also necessary to raise your population count high enough to support your empire. It takes a lot of upkeep according to planets, but it can well be worth it; it’s helped me become stronger than other empires at my level.

One annoying part of using that as your primary source of income, however, is when tax collectors go on strike…

Okay, it just seems so easy to exploit; just manufacture a bunch and send all but one on missions…

Another thing I noticed: I have not yet researched the Command Ship, therefore, I cannot buy them. However, when I click on “edit” with my supply planet, I can manufacture them. This isn’t an error under the edit menu, though; I checked my turn summary, and indeed my supply planets have produced command ships, but I haven’t researched them yet. I think this occurred after the Galactic Council gave me one command ship reward, but now I have three, with no command ship rewards since.

There’s an occasional bug with the battle; after I lose a battle, the button for “close” won’t click, and thereafter other buttons won’t click, either, like the “pay” buttons on the menu after you end your turn. Also, after a battle it would be nice if it told me which kind of planet I won from my enemy. This game is actually pretty great, I’m sure it’ll gain popularity very quickly.

Topic: Battle Conquest / History is important.

Does that mean we should play this like we did when we were noobs, as in quite often and logging on for more than just to upgrade another building and wait another day? Or are you getting at something else?

Topic: Battle Conquest / CP quest changes went a little too far

I agree, the CP costs are way too high. They were rather low to start with, like 22 CP and 46 CP for a nice resource boost, but seriously? 250 CP for the same lousy reward? The resource harvesters could get as much income for me in the time it takes to get that much. Yes, either make it proportional to fame or barracks level, or increase the rewards.

Topic: SAS: Zombie Assault 3 / Think of your own wepons!

This one’s from Black Ops Zombies, but I’d still like to see it on this game.
Name: Thundergun
Damage: Very High
Accurucy: Medium
Range: Long (not super long, but long.)
Firerate: Medium
Reaload speed: Slow
Mobility: Slow
ammo: 4
Info: Fires a huge shockwave that goes through zombies regardless of how many there are, to the limits of its range. Does enormous damage and scatters zombies, killing all but the Devastator.

I’ve seen the commando, it’s actually in Strike Force Heroes 2… thing is it has a high fire rate, but takes a while to load.

Granted, but it’s evil and constantly attempts to choke you to death.
I wish for even more and cooler dungeons.

I didn’t realize until recently that you can move the aiming beacon once it’s placed! With that in mind, Aiming Beacon becomes, in my opinion, one of the best abilities…

Topic: Freefall Tournament / Why the pulsar?

The tech is not meant to do damage with his primary weapon. In reality, the techs job is to support his teammates with healing and to control a zone with his turret. Scouts, gunners, and tanks do damage. However, the TECH is the ONLY *guy with the ability to *repair another robot, without them going to a health pack, thereby making him a very valuable asset to any team. Time spent taking health packs is time not well spent. Techs provide in battle healing as well, multiplying the teams power, as there is more time they can fight and less time they spend respawning, what with the huge respawn time. You might as well say the repair beam is the techs primary weapon, and the Pulser is just a way to get something on the tech that allows him to fight back, rather than sitting there dying. To answer the question at hand, the Pulser is primarily NOT a support weapon. It’s a neat bouncing weapon with a little strength so the tech isn’t defenseless, but in all reality it’s just another gun. The tech is supposed to mainly use his repair in a fight. If there is no fight, sure, snipe w/ the Pulser. In my opinion, it’s a filler weapon, if you know what I mean.
