Jericho

While the goblin yells something unimportant to him, Jericho’s blade impacts with Caelica’s, generating a shockwave due to the magic she imprinted on her blade and the armor’s own strength. Said shockwave pushed both of them several steps backwards, as a piece of the arena’s floor lands near the place where they were before.
At the same time, a projectile flies by, hitting nothing, followed by more of them impacting on Jericho’s breastplate. The sounds of them impacting it echo inside it, but one of them manages to pierce its armor, creating a small hole as it, once again, hits the armor alongside several shards of crystalized blood.
“Alright, you seem to be quite a… competent fighter…” Jericho says, as he looks at his sword’s blade. Part of it seems to have cracked, especially around the edge. “Not bad at all, Nymph…”
“Name: CaeliCa Averno” Arash says from his place at the crowd. Jericho nods once, as a couple of shadowy hands grasp him, one of them trying to go at his neck… and grasping the air. “A name worth remembering, I guess.”
He then turns at the goblin, ignoring the tugs of the tentacle at his arm, and delivers a kick towards his head.

Due to the fact that I forgot most of the things I was actually doing due to schoolwork (read: due to being a fucking idiot), I’m going to schedule myself to give an update every 3 days, starting from today. Sorry for the incovenience.

Also, post up.

Jericho

“How strong am I? Well…” Jericho starts saying as he quickly catches a lunging goblin by the throat. “…Honestly, I don’t know. It depends on many things…” The armor then proceeds to throw the unfortunate creature towards a human to block the beam he was shooting. “For example, in terms of magical prowess, I’m at a great disadvantage…” He continues to speak, ignoring the sandstorm surrounding him, as a small light starts to emanate from his insides. “… so I decided to ward myself, with some help, against those kind of opponents. However…” he says, while quickly turning around and deflecting the incoming sword attack, as a pulse expels the sand elemental trying to invade his insides. “…I’m also quite skilled in armed combat.” His voice reeked of pride. “You’d have to ask someone else for a more detailed and precise comparison.”
“Now, I’m going to give you some time to prepare yourself.”
Facing the nymph, he proceeds to kick her away and then perform an upwards slash, aimed at her torso.

Alright, so what should we assume if the game never clarified that it was in a Bastard setting, or not? I think that, due to the closed setup, there’s quite a chance that there are some bastard aspects…

EBWOP: I also think that Gonkey’s reason of suspecting BC is quite biased, having in mind roles are always random.

Confirm

1. Based on your knowledge of the game that inspired this mafia, what undisclosed roles (based on V:GL’s game mechanics) do you believe are likely to be present?

If I played the game, I don’t remember.

2. Any particular strategies for this mafia? General mafia strategy aside, there’s closed-setup specific and game-specific strategies to discuss.

Due to 1, I’ve got no prepared strategy besides watching D1 and D2 to see what the people who’ve actually played the game come up with, and try to figure out t he roles.

3. Do you have the impossible badge for Vertigo: Gravity Llama yet?

Negative

4. Who should have an eye kept on them throughout the mafia, and why?

The experienced-but-not-too-experienced players. They’re, usually, the ones that make it out towards the end. The very experienced players are most times, from what I’ve seen and played, killed by the Mafia, as they fear they might detect slips they didn’t notice or be able to deduce who they are.

That’s something that’s up to Behemoth to do, unfortunately, and not within my power.

Tomorrow I’ll have that prepared. I’ll also be closing the sign-ups until the current event has been finished.

The Lamia secretary blushes heavily and starts stuttering but, before she is able to give a response to the attractive dark elf, the cube speaks up again:
“Good. All of You Must follow Me. DisoBedience will Be Punished with Death And Other hoRrible MeaSures.”
As the floating object states its touching desires, it starts hovering towards a door behind the desk, which opens with apparently no interaction from it.
Past that door, across a long hallway lighted up by the cube’s miniature objects and some few torches, is an iron porticulis that slowly rises, revealing a small arena. On the middle of it stands a towering dark armor, holding a longsword proportionate to its size. At the sides, there are several weapon racks with a huge variety of weapons. A deep voice echoes from the armor:
“Welcome to the Arena! My name is Jericho Storm, and I’ll be your opponent.”
Jericho starts walking towards the contraption surrounded by the nano-looking-things and makes a contained bow.
“Thank you, Arash. I can handle it from here”
The box, apparently named Arash, simply emits a sound of conformity and floats towards the seats, where two silhouettes can be distinguished: a cloaked one, whose feral eyes are easily noticable even from where you are standing, and a tall, almost skeletal, person.
“Now, I will now fight all of you, and you must try to defeat me.” says Jericho, walking around them as he talks. “To do so, you’ll be using whatever skills you know both in magic and physical combat. I’ve provided, for this ocassion, several weapons of the finest quality. You’re allowed to use them, in exchange for whatever you may have, for the duration of this battle.”
The armor then goes back to where it was before, and faces them.
“Any questions?”

Soon Forgotten:

Thump.

It’s dark in here. And humid. And I think I know why.

Thump.

I died. And somehow I’m still alive.

Thump.

But wait, am I actually alive?

Thump.

I cannot move, my hands resting on myself. Those are nice flowers. Lavander, I always liked their smell. Now their fragrance is intoxicating and unbearable.

Thump.

Who left these flowers? My wife? My childs? My boss? My friends? The cashier at the shop?

Thump.

Oh god… Sarah… Jack… Matthew…

Thump.

Who will take care of them? I want to see them… one last time, at least…

Thump.

Ah… too bad I didn’t see them become good mans… I want to cry…

…but I can’t. I’m dead.

Thump.

They must be finishing burrowing my coffin…

Thump.

How many have attended my funeral?

Thump.

How many will come visit me?

thump…

… How many times will they visit me?

thump…

… Will they remember me?

thump…

… I don’t want to be forgotten…

thump…

… So this is it, huh? …

thump…

… I’ve always wondered what it would be like …

Topic: Forum Games / [RP] Realms Adrift [SIGNUPS AND DISCUSSION] [ALWAYS OPEN]

Due to B_S’ nagging, I’m going to join.

Name: Luz Akemi
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Base Species: Light Elemental/Angel
Appearance: Luz normally looks like a young, slender woman who’s composed of a semi-transparent but still solid golden energy. She’s got a pair of large feathery wings and a flowing, silky dress made of the same energy that composes her body. Her eyes are white orbs of dim light. A property of her body is to change depending of her mood and the amount of energy she has. Her body tends to get more mature, and her dress bigger, the more energy she has.
Personality: Luz is a cheerful and sweet girl, who always thrives to have a good time with those she considers her friends. She can be a bit clingy, but she always worries when one of her friends feels bad. She also tends to get distracted easily.
Skills: Singer: Luz has a nice voice, as others have said, and she’s good at mantaining her pace when singing.
Dancing: Luz is also quite nimble, and tends to dance when any kind of music that she likes plays.
Realm of Origin: The Arcanis
Biography: A being formed from one of the millions of energy fluctuations in the Arcanis, Luz actually spent only one year in that realm, looking around and marveled by the different things that happened in that place until she got bored. Deciding that the monotone and perpetual change of that place wasn’t her kind of thing, she decided to start travelling around, and left the Arcanis.
After that event, she spent most of her life swimming on the Astral Sea, on the lookout of new, unknown realms to explore. One that she particulary liked was Adventuria, where she met a young human named Ciar. She was 18 at that time, and he was 21. She took a liking on him and followed his adventures through that realm, eventually becoming his girlfriend. Shortly after that, Ciar was devoured by a dragon when she was exploring a mystical looknig forest. That left Luz with a bitter feeling in her heart, after which she vowed herself to not leave the side of a person she trusts.
At this moment, she’s drifting on the Astral Sea, thinking of the recent events while paying the minimum attention to the possibility of a realm passing by.
Abilities: Energy Transfer: Luz is capable of transfering part of her own energy to another being, if both of them agree to that exchange. This can also work on the other way around, with the same condition.
Energy Absorption: Luz can, albeit slowly, absorb the energy in the enviroment into her own being. That can be helpful to replace the energy lost when she transfers it.
Energy Blast: Luz can quickly project part of her energy on a specific place, resulting in a small shockwave.

(For the sake of advancing the plot, I’ll assume every PC has already handed their sheets)

As the different events unfold, the last creature fills in its application form and all the secretary-like beings behind the desk leave excluding the Lamia, who gathers all the papers, puts them in a box and presses a button before saying:
“The paperwork’s done, Keeper.”
Minutes after that, a buzzing sound can be heard across the place as a floating cube, surrounded by a multitude of small… things, aproaches the desk. The Lamia hands it the box.
The swarm of miniature gizmos then starts unleashing small electrical shocks on the box, which disintegrates in response, along with all the sheets inside. Where once was the result of many hours standing in a line, hours that could have been used in other productive things (like beheading poor peasants or ravaging villages full of dubitable riches), was now a pile of ashes, and the cube has, apparently, turned around. Hard to tell with all those things moving around.
When it spoke, its metallic voice echoed through all of the room, even though it shouldn’t been able to do that: “I Require the Presence of: Jaq, Reks Ryder, Arkfurionsk Inferfurie, Nikeas Surname-Lacking, Leia Kastor, Caelica Avero, Kein Allail, Adam and Vano. the Individuals Mentioned must Come near my Pressence and Follow Me.”
The Lamia secretary is trying to not laugh at the robotic voice of this being, as she starts cleaning the desks.

Some claps can be heads as the secretaries behind the desks ask for attention. While things where happening, the line had moved and people where starting to get a tad bit impatient due to the already tedious process of waiting having been lenghtened by, as thought by an orc, “Stupid beanbags”. A Lamia secretary, dressed with a white blouse and a black jacket, sighed and said “Next!”.

The game has started.

Also, my reasons of dissapearing was mostly me not handling what could be treated as my first Wi-Fi connection, which fluctuates quite a lot. Due to this, I’ll have to rely on PMs to talk to anybody. I’m also unable to use Skype, and PiratePad is not too reliable. Sorry for the inconveniences.

The halls of the Dungeon were mostly empty, excluding for the occasional sound of a being running towards the large line of creatures, all of them carrying a piece of paper, a stone slab (or many), or any other way of writing down information. And the cause of this was simple:
The Keeper, seeking a new way of fulfilling different tasks, had decided to make different squads. An elite, to simplify things. This special force would have to carry out operations unlike the others, and they would be under the direct command of the Keeper.
The line was quite long, to tell the truth, and it had existed for three hours now. A few of the creatures that finished were now trying to make some kind of profit selling consumables to the others. At the end of the line there was a long row of desks, with many creatures taking in the application forms, seeing if any were incorrectly filled in, and filing them if they were ok. There were also many tables where some people were rewriting their sheets, or simply resting after a long time waiting. It was expected for the Keeper to tell who had been chosen for the squads in one or two days.

[This is where the story beings. You will all start some place near the end of the line, but it will not be your turn to give in the sheet. In case you’re wondering, the sheets are the character sheets you signed up with, but this will probably the only moment they’ll be mentioned.]

I’m currently moving, so I’ll be without internet for some days. So I’ll let BCLEGENDS approve sheets so, when I come back, I can already start the game.

Sorry for the inconvenience

Race: Good

Good is not a race.

(Dominion- Angel)

As the rule 10 says, no rank above Power (That would be the 4th level) is allowed. You can get Virtue (5th level) by demonstrating astonishing ability at writing and proving to not be a complete idiot that will curbstomp everyone with his increased amount of power. Which is very unlikely to happen, as I’d preffer having everyone on a somewhat balanced level. Also, you’d be a fallen angel.

Appearance

Too simple for my tastes. Nothing important, but I’d preffer for you to elaborate

Skills

These are quite too vague. Simple sentences that don’t even reach 10 words.

Magic:

There’s no holy magic in this setting, but I guess you mean “Light”

On another note, your spells are, again, too simple and vague. Elaborate them, please.

Shine doesn’t specify how bright she is
Ray of Light outright states that it kills every “Evil” creature. Which is not only OP, but also kills everyone of your allies
Heal could heal any fatal wound, apparently, without any cost related to it. It heals paper cuts the same way it heals dismembering.
Gust apparently can blow back anything, even mountains, due to the lack of limits stated
Energy blast doesn’t says how powerful it is, nor the cost, nor anything excluding that it’s a powerful blast.
Summon is outright overpowered, as you’r summoning other living beings and this just “makes her sleepy”. Remove this, please.

Biography

Too simple and short. Add more flavor, and stuff.

Also, Avid. You are a member of the Dungeon of Evil, you’d do good in remember. Please fix these problems.

The currently approved persons are: BCLEGENDS, Qwertyuiopazs, Nikeas, Crystalmask, Xandrya, gammaflux and FelineForumer
