[Guilds] Guild Recruitment Thread
Unguilded
Server 11 – US East
Unguilded is for casual players who don’t think the game is life or death
Altar: Level 2
Skill tower: Level 2 3
Guild shop: Level 2
Requirements: I know this is a tough series of requirements… but you must play Wartune, and on Kong S11. And finally… you must join the guild to be a member. I know, I know… we’re just that demanding.
To simplify: If you’re looking for a hardcore guild that’s going to be climbing the rankings… that’s not us. If you’re looking for somewhere to sit around for a while with no demands, then come on in and be Unguilded.

Remove white flag users from compound lists
As Traska said, there’s more to the game than PvP.
Not everyone has to play king of the mountain to have fun.

Bah, you’re thinking too small. We just need to be given everything for every game, along with maximum stats. They can send us the details in an email so we don’t have to log in. But then we’ll need someone else to log into our email and read it to us so we don’t have to do that either. Hmm, and then we need someone else to listen to it…

Raids Bot

You can choose who to share the raid with. Nobody forces you to put it the the public chat, you choose to do so. You could use your guild area to share with your guild, or privately whisper them around, or use a third party chat to share, or or or. Your publicly posted raids were already getting found with the private listeners (some of whom were being used to generate pastebins for all, some of whom were being used for private enjoyment, and even if I set up my bot to ignore raids, those listeners will still grab them). The biggest thing that changed is that it’s just shared in close to real time.
But with your bot, you choose for us. You choose that 50% of the time raids that are most in question (even if they were scraped for a pastebin, public or private) which would still be available to the people we chose to share with first… go to the people you choose, then failing that, a 50% chance of others, and so on… So, for these raids, your pastebin argument is irrelevant. Telling us we can just use guild chat (some of use share with more than guilds), or use whispers and third party chat (why do you feel that you get to choose how the public chat is used for everyone?) might come off to some as a bit arrogant. Though, as has been mentioned here and in many other places… text can be difficult to read tone in.

Now, I’ve been doing more front-loaded of the processing, to give the originating room more time with the raid, but it’s still pretty fast. I’m not going to artificially add a pause, but I can’t think of much more front processing to do to slow it down beyond a “is it alive” check… which I’ve been working on.
Why are you opposed to an artificial pause? A delay of maybe 30-60 seconds on the raids most affected by this would solve most people’s objections, while still maintaining your purpose, wouldn’t it? Unless your purpose is purely selfish (i.e. – Gotta get all we can from everyone, no matter what!)

Itsaku, if I might ask your opinion on these two things, and as impartially as you might be able to consider the answers…
1 – Who should be able to choose who they share a raid with?
2 – If someone is truly against the bot, why should they not be allowed to opt out of it scraping them?
These are my biggest issues, and since you have such strong feelings on the matter, perhaps you wouldn’t mind sharing.

Typical… ask someone to research something for themselves and they get bent out of shape. How is it giving my word more credit if I specifically say not to trust my word?
As for where to discuss an issue, the forums are a better option.
As for the “reprogramming”, my observations were made after it supposedly happened.
As for cheaters… well, if you kids (to use your failed attempt at a derogatory remark) do your own homework, you’ll see who’s cheating who.
Fairness doesn’t mean taking from someone without giving back.

Tell you what… as to the distribution of the small raids, do a little research yourself. Don’t trust what anyone else tells you about it. Just check it out yourself. I won’t bother saying what I observed, as you can’t know if I’m honest. But if you actually check it yourself, you’ll see.

Raids Bot
Nitromand, first off, just to get it out of the way, my previous comment was not trolling. If you look back at your post with an objective eye, you will likely see how the words you posted led to the way it was seen. Perhaps I was a bit off-putting in my response, but that’s neither here nor there. Defensive speech and offensive intent are often different on the way out than they are in the original thought, as well as in the interpretation.
Now, as for your points – a couple of considerations:
1 – How many full rooms can fit in room 8? Just one. Should the people who have a problem with the way this bot is handled all move to 8? How many people from 1,2,3 and on should be moved? And what happens when 8 is full?
2 – Do you object to the solution some people have mentioned about how there should be a way to opt out and have yourself ignored by the bot?
This is the type of bot that, if it causes enough of a stink, can cause bots to be completely disallowed. I’m sure that most people don’t want that. I don’t, at the very least.
And to WillianGallis, it’s not a matter of “pro at the game”. I am certainly no pro. It is more a matter of raids being filled by people too fast, having to react faster than should be necessary, and having to compensate for people who tag. Not everyone in 1 thinks everyone in other rooms are poor players or bad people – just certain ones and just about certain others.

The only ones who claim to be at a disadvantage, is those who refuse to move to room 8. Basicly, you are causing any “disadvantage” to yourself, not the progammer behind the bot.
Hey, maybe i should start a thread, whining over a select few people get all the “best raids” because they are sitting in room 1.
Cmon guys.. There are advantages to being in Room 1, why else would you sit there? Stop being so fking greedy already.
You really need to make up your mind which thought you believe before posting. You state nobody is at an advantage, but they cause the disadvantage to themselves, but the reason they are at the disadvantage is because they aren’t in Room 8. You then say that Room 1 has advantages (despite saying that the advantage can be had by moving to Room 8) and that people who have developed their own small community and don’t wish to break it up are greedy.
Wow…

Every existing alliance was once a new alliance that would NEVER kill this or that…
Yeah, starting a new alliance is a slower path, but if it makes the game fun for them, good for them.
