Topic: Art / ▲Drawings, flash engines, little games Very impressive body of work there. Seems you’ve been playing DnD for a while huh? How do you feel about 4th edition coming out this saturday? At least in the states it comes out then. Just wanted to say it was nice to see your work. |

Topic: Art / New Project Regardless, they pay me to make something for them. I might not like them but I really like their money, it pays for the internet and allows me to go out for dinner occasionally or buy better food. I like better food. To stay on topic of my topic the painting fell yesterday! :O It was a very big OH NOES situation but the fall only took a small chunk out of the drywall and it didn’t effect the picture. I decided to end the painting early that day because I didn’t want it to fall again if I turned around. I’ll edit some more pictures onto the thread in a bit. I lent out my SD card reader so I can expect it later today or next year. Depends when I see my brother next. Should be soon. |

Topic: Art / New Project Well the problem with that is simple. They pay me to make what they want. I sell a lot of stuff to people who do a lot of roleplaying and want a picture of their character. I know most of them because they are the friend of a friend of a friend. Also I’m good friends with a guy that runs a store for all your role playing needs and has a small portfolio of mine there to show off. He’s a great guy so he doesn’t want a cut off the money so I just buy something from his store everytime he sends me someone. I don’t really have a place for all my work, I made a thread a while ago here if you want to find that. I’m working on my website but it’s mostly me tinkering around. http://www.theywilleat.us |

Topic: Art / New Project I just started this today, I’d say it was a couple of hours outside, probably one hour of work. The rest of the time was spent playing with my dog and squishing bugs. I started hating it because I was obligated to make these things and people got to pick at it and say things like “No I want the claw bigger! Don’t put pink in the picture!” also they weren’t paying all the bills so that means I have to work a crappy normal job. That just puts a strain on everything really. Leaves me with less time to do this thing that used to be fun. |

Topic: Art / New Project I started painting on my walls a little while ago and found some scrap drywall to play with. So I experimented with it a bit and decided to make something. So I started doing some sketches and what not and started making this. *http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/SariK/SA… *http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/SariK/SA… *http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/SariK/SA… *http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/SariK/SA… *http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/SariK/SA… I kind of started hated making art because it was paying a few bills and I stopped enjoying it. I feel really good while I’m making this. I missed playing with paint. I also did some digital doodling with Open Canvas and made this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/SariK/he… |

Topic: Collaborations / billyfred - Willing to do good art for any various game, seriously. He might be the pwnageness in everything but art. Point is he’s claiming he can make “good art for any various game, seriously.” and hasn’t shown anything any serious person would consider using. |

Topic: Art / Just experimenting I love zombie RPs, I used to run two using the d20 modern system. What I did for a few of the maps was just cut up a city I found on google maps and stuff. Looks like you just painted over the middle of a city. You should probably cut and paste some different parts of a city, surround it with the outskirts. Also keep in mind the scale of things. Your van and cottage is the size of a big building in the city. If I can find it I’ll link you too a really nice pixel map I saw somewhere. |

Topic: Collaborations / billyfred - Willing to do good art for any various game, seriously. Jackknrsh7, it’s not art. It’s pretty awful, maybe you should avoid filling up the entire piece of paper with all those patterns/noise. Try to create a focal point with details and then work from their. Avoid details on something that isn’t important or really far away. |

Topic: Collaborations / I have Ideas and Storys you have skills A lot of people usually just double up as writers. I used to work on a few half life mods as a 3D artist and level designer, I would help with story ideas and did some voice acting (mostly death noises or sound effects), but most of these small dev teams get some help from people who are primarily writers but still do some other stuff. Nqkoi1 is right though, you are very unlikely to get on team with a skill that isn’t really necessary. Most projects require a programmer, artist and designer. Many times people over lap roles, but if you don’t have one of those skills then you’re optional. |

Topic: Collaborations / I have Ideas and Storys you have skills Troz’s ideas are worth almost nothing but real skill as a writer is useful for anyone who wants a decent story. Of course you’d have to understand a lot of writing concepts. What I can tell from your post is that you’re a young’n who might only be good at ideas. Which are worth almost nothing. A writer needs to be a good writer, maybe you have some short stories you could share to prove us wrong, or even better game design documents. Also, wtf is pizelating? Do you mean “I can also push pixels for sprites, I prefer really low res styles.” because that’s different than pizelating and pixelating. If you really think you’re a good writer I suggest you prove it. If you think you can make some sprites I suggest you prove it. By the way, there are a lot of sites that have free game design documents for anyone willing to use them. |

Topic: Art / Artroduction I was just 30 days of night, and Josh Hartnett was my inspiration. I’m glad you said that. I’m not going to use the excuse of that being my style, but it’s kind of may habit. I usually give characters big jaws and larger noses. I completely agree he shouldn’t have a tube nose and I was trying to hide the mouth in the facial hair. I’ll try to make an edit of it. Lower the nose down and move the mouth up a bit. As for the facial hair, I love it. I grow a different beard every other month. |

Topic: Art / Artroduction Suited Criminal, I don’t usually do requests because I keep myself busy with a good deal of freelance work (D: that can’t be posted until the projects are complete, NDA) which pays most of my bills. I’ll try to make you one but I can’t promise it will happen any time soon. Titled, I’d would appreciate your opinion as an artist. The face is a little wonky and any advice or criticisms you have could only have me improve it. Jindo, thanks. I used flash back when it was owned by macro media then stopped using it until recently. The tools work much better and the lines are smoother for the most part. I really like the changes from AS 2.0 to the 3.0 too. Over all it’s a big improvement I’m hoping to start taking advantage of. |

Topic: Serious Discussion / PETA...idiots or geniuses? I had to have a debate in school about animal testing for medical reasons (really don’t support the “cosmetic” reasons, pigs look bad in make up.) and one of the things the team FOR medical testing failed to mention was PETA. But to the point, a lot of the biggest medical discovers happened through testing on animals. Thanks to all the testing and research done on animals in the past we really don’t need as much testing as before. We’ve develop digital and synthetic ways of figure out a lot of things. Another thing is the heart transplants they tested on pigs worked ok but on humans it was a wreck. Things don’t always transfer from species to species so well. But with all that said PETA is pretty crazy. One of the higher ups (some woman who’s name I can’t remember) said her son was as important as the fly on the wall. That must be some really important fly. Idiots. Why would they be geniuses? |

Topic: Art / Make a Kongémon! I agree with Slipstream, maybe not as harshly but I hope you can understand where Slip is coming from. Just wait after a few people post their kongemon. Then make one post complimenting a handful of them instead of going after each one. Besides, even if your posts are spam, they look very spammy. A few people have accused you of spamming already. Prove those bastards wrong by using spell check and putting some thought into the posts. “I like the horns on that.” instead of “kool”. for reals. Dispute settled. So when is this game going to be made? TBA. |

Topic: Art / MSPaint FTW! It’d be 8-bit if you saved it as a gif or a PNG. 8-bit graphics are like 16 colors. While you only used 6 colors the jpeg creates artifacts that are all sorts of colors. using the power of technology I figured out you used 11033 unique colors. Upon reread your post I noticed you said it was a .bmp, you’re using photobucket to upload your pictures. Photobucket has a nasty habit of turning your BMPs into JPEGs. I lost a lot of work to that. |

Topic: Collaborations / Looking to start a small team. I’m an artist and designer looking for a programmer. I have a few ideas for some games that I’d like to work on. You can see a handful of my work in the art section. http://www.kongregate.com/forums/5/topics/7257 I’d prefer you be able to a little more than just programming, if you can do any amount of drawing or like writing or what have you that’d be nice. If anyone would like to join the team and isn’t a programmer then still feel free to send me a message or reply telling me what you think you’d be able to do. I already have a friend that will compose some music for me, I’ll make some too. If you’re interested in starting a new project or just chatting feel free to send me a whisper with your contact information. I have AIM, MSN, Jabber and IRC. If you do join the team and we end up making any money it’ll be split evenly unless you choose to either not take the money or take less. |

Topic: Art / (My) ThreeHeaded Hound This is really nice. You should ink this and finish it up, it looks faint because of the blue lines but go over it with some ink and you should be fine. Got anything else in that book? It’s a little odd you signed it in black pen as MD Productions and not whatever your name is. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t sign my work that’s in MY book very often. |

In all seriousness you can just keep your eyes peel and occasionally check out the thread I made here. |
