Graphics, code, animation, music – everything is 100% done, it was done months ago, but I still can’t release it according to my agreement with publisher. At first, we wanted to make a mobile version, but a few weeks ago funding for it was pulled.
Technically, we can release it now, but it’s up to them to decide. The game is still on testing and even I have no idea about actual release date.

Right now I’m working on another games improving F3 engine. Maybe my future games would have less publishing problems than F3 had.

just came across this topic and… free and paid versions…if that implies a demo and full version then i won’t go anywhere near it. (the whole free demo, paid full version flash game thing is what gets people like fizzy games mainly pure hate for doing that.)

It’s not up to me, mostly to my publisher, but I doubt it will be this way. Most likely – a version with ads and an ad-free version. Maybe with some extra items or bosses. The web version will be free anyway, and it will have its own advantages.

Working on it, you’ll be able to change your character’s hairstyle and hair color. And your beard, if you’re a male character.

Yes, there’re a lot of great flash RPGs with turn based battles but only few games with massive real time battles, like Feudalism. I think such gameplay looks better.
@TheUltimaton, annoyed? Not really. Any feedback is better than no feedback at all. Reading new post on this thread even 3 years (!) after game release is a great honor! It means that there’re still some people still playing F2 and waiting for F3. I can’t confirm if there’re going to be any unique weapons, but I had such idea too. We’ve decided to make them later, if we have some extra time. In this case unique weapons will look like normal ones but with different colors, improved stats or special attack effects, like health drain, increased accuracy and such stuff.
@UltimaEvill You could command your troops in Feudalism 2, didn’t you? Well, you could select them and order them to go somewhere or attack some one on that tiny battlefield. It was very hard to command them, and pretty useless: they could attack enemies even without your orders and there were no need for them to retreat. That’s why in F3 your army will fight on it’s own.

Khronosis, that checkbox turns to “Export in frame 2” once you choose that frame in AS Settings, but if a class is being used in frame 1 (like a preloader) it will be exported there instead.
gabitzuA23, what does size report tell? (Publish settings → Generate size report) Such things happen when there’s something too “heavy” in the first frame (music, bitmaps, some complex art or animation used in the preloader). And, while simulating download, it loads and starts the game after a few minutes, right? If not, try to increase download speed in the simulation it’s too low by default.

Sorry, but I have no idea when. Sounds strange, I know, but there’s an artist working on the game and we’re not sure when the art will be finished. Once we’ve done with the art the composer will start working on music, he can’t start right now because he have to see the whole game to write proper music.
We were planning to finish most UI art next week and then start working on the content like characters, backgrounds and such stuff.
I don’t want to make any promises about release date. It should be this year, propably summer, May if everything goes exellent or October-November if everything goes awful.

I bet most of you guys thought that I don’t read this topic, didn’t you?
Anyway, I’m working on Feudalism III right now and I’ve got some things to tell about this game. The gameplay wouldn’t change a lot: you still travel around the world trying to conquer every town on the map, hire troops, buy stuff, etc, no major changes here.
The events of F3 will take their place thousands years after events of F2. During this time people have discovered secrets of magic, invented new powerful weapons and formed three mighty countries. And these countries have started a great war against each other.
Amount of countries have been reduced, but I’m going to make them more different, with more unique weapons, spells and units. Some old weapons, like bows and crossbows were replaced with firearms.
There’ll be much more magic, especially healing and supportive spells. You’ll be able to hire mages and healers.

I’ve also found a great artist who’s gonna make a really cool art for the game. Right now we’re working on the final list of features, I’ll post it once it’s finished.

I want the new game to be closer to RPG than a strategy, with more supportive abilities and some unique, strong enemies. Events of F3 will take their place in far future, not in medieval age. And the game world should be a mix of magic and technology, like Final Fantasy 6-8. There will be less characters and countries, but with bigger differences between them.

I guess equipping every of your 30 soldiers individually will be extremely boring. Maybe I’ll add heroes – guys controlled by AI, who can level up, use custom equipment and can be revived after death.
Equipment will be changed too: no shields, bows or throwing weapons (none liked them anyway), but I’ll add new rifles, pistols, etc.
There also shold be more simple, cartoony graphics style. It will take way less time to make and should allow to making bigger battlefields.

The best equipment obtainable in the biggest (8-star) cities. Each nation's armor and weapons give different bonuses, but the best are:
*Armor*
- Infernal Armor (72 Def, +96HP, -32SP), Infernal Helmet (24 Def, +48HP, -16SP): require 100 CON and purchasable in Grobben: the highest defense
- Black Shogun Armor (48Def, +96SP), Black Shogun Mask (16 Def, +48SP): require 100 DEX and purchasable in Nagoya: the best SP bonuses, good for maxing Guillotine Blade damage ;)
- Sultan's Armor (60 Def, +32 HP/SP) Elite Janissary Helmet (20 Def, +16 HP/SP): require 95 STR and purchasable in Tiflis: good defense for STR-type character
- Holy Plate Armor (54 Def, +64HP, +48SP), Czar's Helmet (18 Def, +32HP, +24SP): require 100 STR and purchasable in Ra-Gorod: less defense but higher HP/SP bonuses for STR-type character

- Spiky Crossbow (damage 120-360, 100% crit): requires 99 DEX and purchasable in Caesarea

There are skills that give bonuses to infantry with one-handed swords/axes/maces; but do they only work for infantry?

Now they work on horsemen too. I looks like a bug and may be fixed.
dragonblaz9 didn’t notice spears in his post, but I think they worth using too because Burning Spear skill was a little improved in last update.

I have no idea why people think they look small, their scale hasn’t changed:

Hit chance does not depend on weapon upgrade level.
bq. “You can’t upgrade your army, and there is a bunch of limits on your army. You can’t have a huge army anymore, you’re restricted to only about 4 rows of soldiers and thats it. There’s no such thing as army too big.”
Too big army makes you invincible so the game would be too boring without such limitations.
bq. “you CANNOT upgrade your character’s certain aspects like the first one. You can’t upgrade certain parts like its sword skill, and what the **** is with your hero?”

The only things were removed are Art of War and Patriotism skills. Why can’t you upgrade sword skill for example?

I can make a version of the game with no army size and max stat limitations and with 25 stat points per level, but are you sure it will be more interesting?

Yes, the version at HeavyGames is legal, the game was published there before “the world release” to test it last time and get rid of some bugs. I must say that Feudalism 2 isn’t a revolution, I just made bigger world, added some new features and tried to make it more balanced and a bit harder, but overall it’s old good Feudalism. The reason why I didn’t make a storyline or magic, dragons and etc. is that most people (including me) couldn’t wait a year more, so I decided to publish game now and keep some ideas for Feudalism 3.
