WANTED: Deterministic Crafting System
I have to agree.
Strategical aspects still remain in the game but eventually, it will be out shadowed by those who are rich enough to afford the gears. I do understand that developers have to earn money somehow(as vavusikarios has stated, aesthetic options are viable) and I, as both a player and a fan, do pay for the game but the price for those gears is ludicrous. It is not for the average players. And if they are average players who can’t afford them, how are they able to compete in PvP when there is an obvious and unfair leverage that their opponents have?
Right, you might say to craft those equipments before attempting to PvP but again, it is nigh impossible to craft those gears. In fact, some of those gears can’t even be crafted! Regardless of whether we grind hard or not, there are still times when we meet with a streak of bad luck. (meaning non-artful equipment even after countless attempts in crafting) This system prevents that. How can we be enthused to grind when such occurrence is frequent? It doesn’t provide much incentive when we read about other people’s unlucky experience either. Even if we are to craft that 1 awesome equipment through some miracle, that still doesn’t put us on par with those players with 5 of those equipments. Which is why we have to be able to get those equipments or maybe even some equipments which are somewhat inferior to those that they have somehow even if we have to grind for hours on end. Yes, no luck involved.
I understand that paying players should be given shortcuts or more varieties of equipments as a choice in the event that do not want to venture on an odyssey to obtain materials or have no preferable equipment. But, that doesn’t mean they should be given overpowered choices that the majority of players can never get. Paying players should have a slight advantage over others but not an OBVIOUS advantage. This system is needed in order to balance things out. Of course, you have to make sure that those who paid for the equipments won’t feel cheated. Maybe introduce a slightly worse-off version of the Champion’s Mail that they have THAT can be crafted as long as we spend a certain amount of time.
Personally, I don’t care how much I have to grind, but I’d like to obtain those equipments someday (again, without any luck involved) in order to level the battlefield; it is never fun to get thrashed by someone who paid to win.
TL;DR : Add the system to provide incentives for players to grind for equipments and level the battlefield.
EDIT : I take back some of my words. Good job devs on adding the new eqs. Something still has to be done with the chances of artful items though.
