Topic: BloodRealm / More performance through canvas link

No offense to you Egalisator. But I actually think it’s a bad advice to give, because playing the game through Kong is the only way to be able to chat with people during game play. If the game had inbuilt world chat, I guess that “could” be OK.

I would rather prefer some of the old advice given before, that they get more attention, and that is to: block off the sound events and music through the Adblock+ plugin, but anything else, I would say not so good. The developers needs to work harder to produce better source code, and if they don’t, it’s their loss and not ours, because most people will go on to some other game which works better, and they will loose money.

Topic: Card Monsters / Balancing

In my opinion: great that there are people here which feels satisfied with the recent changes being made. As an amateur programmer myself, I understand that what they have changed would be the parameters which decides the values for different cards, changing them is not a huge effort, however, it’s good for PR that things are happening!

I myself does not see anything exciting about anything that was changed, and it does not change gameplay for me… I’m hoping that at least a new booster will arrive in a couple of months, because it is a very long time since I saw anything of that, so that would be a little interesting for me. I’m also hoping for a community boss fight, and when that get’s added (if it will!) that would also be interesting to see.

I think what I miss the most, is that I rather don’t want cards to get changed too much (unless necessary), rather than making the abilities work better, making the abilites a little more advanced in how they work. Like the disease ability…

So I’m not excited about this latest update, nothing for me… :)

Topic: Card Monsters / Up-coming changes

I think this small update might be enough to hold on to the most loyal players of this game… In the meantime, I will keep my eyes opened for what is happening to this game before this year has ended, whether any new changes which can substantially improve game play has been released or not.

It’s good that they are deciding the keep the game alive and up and running here on Kong, but at the same time it’s very important for Edgebee to try and make the game more attractive. I really like some of the ideas that have been discussed over here at Kong, especially fighting one huge boss as being done together as a community boss fight, no other update than that would increase the popularity of this game and make it more fun than ever before, in my opinion. Nerfing cards here and there isn’t particulary exciting enough, although sometimes necessary.

Topic: Card Monsters / Brainstorming Ideas

I hope that my post that I wrote last month in this thread can be taken into consideration, if it’s possible to implement or not. Doesn’t haveto be exactly like what I wrote, and can be done even better. The point from my argument was to try and lift up the fact that how abilities are being triggered and used, does not create a sufficient good strategy against the “super cards” once used in the correct order.

Even weak cards should have a chance to defeat way stronger cards, and not how it is today. So if the abilities such as disease (or any other ability?) can have a better reflection on it’s name, create a balance system for that first, as once one or two abilites gets nerfed or improved, it affects all other abilities in the game, and it’s an important thing to have in mind, and not implement things too fast without thinking things through, as what was previously done with super Hydra card, thankfully, it got nerfed… I still don’t like the card though, but that’s just my personal opinion.. :)

As I was recently kicked from one alliance (active alliance) despite performing 100% I make this alliance in protest towards others who does not follow fair play… I log in every day, but I don’t play too much, because I’m usually busy doing other things… So hope to see a couple of new members here SOON. Topic: Card Monsters / Invincibility

I agree it’s an powerful ability, but if every ability would be 100% balanced, this game will become very boring. I think some of the excitement comes from the fact that it’s a little unbalanced. Improvements are always good, though. I would like to see all abilities grow to something which creates more strategy, making abilities a bit more advanced than they currently are.

What if making the invincibility to only work on mages? It would nerf it quite a lot, and make mages a little more resistant to heavy fighters which hit so hard, that their HP isn’t even close to sustain such a blow, even if blessed. I don’t know if it’s a good suggestion, but it would change the game play a lot.

Topic: Card Monsters / EdgeBee is back in the game.

“I think the next expansion booster should not be a booster that can be purchased with coins – its far too easy to accumulate coins a lot of us who have Dragon Apocalypse unlocked will have all the new cards within a day and will have nothing to achieve again.” – by militantspawn.

I haveto voice my opinion on that one. Since I’ve played this game for I think it is 2 years now, and I have never come to the DA and I know many other players have not got there as well, it still takes an huge amount of time and effort to get all the gold for opening up boosters and buying EVO crystals etc etc.. I don’t think it’s a good idea.

They could implement some kind of game handicap for players who have reached DA if you feel it would be unfair to the other players, but I’m sceptical towards something like that myself. They should concentrate on having a standard for how things are in the shop and in other places of the game, everything else would just make things weird.

Also despite the nice and good pictures contributed by BMuel, I also think it’s a bad idea to insert the pictures in the game as well, because the pictures is still not Edgebee material. If this was an open source game, I think it would be an OK idea. But as it is currently, Edgebee would need to hire him first to make him part of Edgebee, and I’m sure they at Edgebee looks at it that way as well, despite all his work and efforts.

Topic: Card Monsters / Brainstorming Ideas

As I stated in a previous post, I think abilities better should live up to it’s name. Disease for example was better before it was changed to what it is today. The change made it even weaker than before, but instead of going back there, I would like to see the disease ability to randomly give an ally card a disease. Let’s say 4 types of diseases to make it simple, and just simple random function to let it choose what it does.

One step further could be to make abilities a bit more powerful as they are used by Epic cards, like for example: you have disease 1 – 4 and where disease 4 is the worst form, having disease on common ally cards only trigger disease 1. So for common cards: disease 1, uncommon cards: disease 2. rare cards: disease 3, and finally epic cards: disease 4. And of course replace those numbers with actual names.

With Epic ally card being able to trigger disease 4, that could be set in percentage so all cards can trigger all of them, but a very low percentage for worst disease trigger from an common ally card.

There is all sorts of ways this can be done, and this is mostly my thoughts. So I am more of making the abilities better as abilities than to create a whole bunch of new ones, at least for starters. As for questing goes, I think it can be made a low priority in comparison to the game mechanics, lots of things needs to get changed, but I was not impressed with the latest expansion, a bit fun to see that things were happening, though, but that’s it.

Topic: Card Monsters / EdgeBee is back in the game.

This one I suggested some time ago, and thanks for that one Miawe. I think that Edgebee can continue to earn money on this game even if it get’s open sourced, but I am not certain on exactly how. Either way, I think that what I would like to know is, is there any developer who actively would be interested in the source and it’s continued development? So they can start there first

They could always have a donate button, and leave their other games non-open source and continue to earn money on those. I think. I also think that they (Edgebee) or who ever works on the source code, that it should be considered changing the whole game to make the strategy elements of this game a bit more advanced, like take DISEASE for example, just using your own imagination it would be possible to add more parameters to it, so it effects more elements, and that goes for other abilities as well.

One example of disease: when a ally card gets sick, it starts to loose in HP each turn, and adding a random type of disease could get added where different things triggers depending on what type of cards it transmits too, etc etc… This is just one idea, and it doesn’t haveto be super advanced, only add up and creates some real strategies, making this game less primitive and more competetitve towards other card games.

Topic: Shadowland Online / IMPORTAND SIGNED SLO PLAYERS

I for one will be hoping that this game is still online and running for the rest of this year, despite bugs and problems, because I would loose contact on a permanent basis with players I’ve played this game with. :( So I’m hoping for the best, what made this game great, in my opinion, has been the players I’ve played this game together with, the game itself isn’t that interesting or exciting, to me.

Topic: Card Monsters / Fate of CM?

Unfortunately even good games has a tendency to just fade away. I’ve seen at least 2 good game titles from Kongregate that got dismissed: Backyard Monsters and Clash Rise of Heroes. I expect this game to go bye bye as well one day, but I think if there was a petition against that, then it might not be so. Too soon to tell, I guess.

Topic: Card Monsters / Help with Umbral Vortex

Same here, glad to see you back again Kholdy. I got the same problem myself with War wraith and was dissapointed, but as time has moved on I think it was an OK change, even though it was better before and I still believe that. I’m using Hydra in the middle, ninjedi level 5 with excalibur at the left and at the right side I’m using Granger with Emmets Suit (3cc). Granger has also been changed from HP 50 to level 70 so more useful for UV then before, the change in HP might have changed it’s CC to 3 from 2, but I’m not sure on that, Tsizt, do you know if they did that?

Topic: Card Monsters / Fate of CM?

The best Card Monsters ever made would be done by the community itself instead of a company, but programming and making all the artwork isn’t easily done, but if there’s enough interest, it, can be done. Maybe one day?

I will continue to play CM as long as is possible, though. There’s so many things with CM which needs to be redone in order for it to actually be the game it should be. Blizzard created Heartstone, but I experience it as a lot worse than this game, can’t really stand it despite it’s better graphics and all it’s effects.. Hmm..

Topic: Shadowland Online / Server Maintenance on Apr. 3, 2014

Hmm… as long as there are players playing this game, the game can never be dead, but I see your point there. Why not come with suggestions on how the game can be improved instead of nagging? curious I’m a software developer myself, but I earn nothing from the software I write and I’m not even good at either (not yet any way) but I can say that as much as we all want the game to get better, this isn’t helping.

I believe that most offers they come up with can simply be ignored, as I do myself. They will not earn any money if they realise and understand that nobody is interested. Over the time I have played this game I have never experienced it to be a “stunning game experience”, I would suggest they need to change their manager or step down a bit closer to the reality of how real players experience this game, but I understand it’s just PR BS. :-] Any way, I enjoy this game to some extent, but let’s not exaggerate.

Topic: Card Monsters / vote vote vote!!!

1 – 16: No changes to be made to present cards, just let them be the way they are for now and set focus for more important changes which would make the game more exciting than it is today, such as why not add a few new abilities? This was a very long time ago that was made.

So my main motivation for being against changing the cards is because as they changes values, it affects all players negatively who has spent any real money on this game (and that even includes myself). Some small changes can be made from time to time and last time Edgebee also showed that by not including all proposed changes which had been suggested from the community. Change focus to more important things and set some light on some of the bugs which has existed ever since the previous expansion was released.

In my opinion, this is not the way to go, but I’m sure I belong to a minority thinking that way. ;-) I like this game, although it needs lots of improvements and this isn’t doing it.

Topic: Card Monsters / New expansion pack this year?

I’m just wondering… Will there be a new expansion pack released this year?

In my opinion, all fixation about changing existing cards back and forth is risking destroying this game, and I don’t like it. I won’t win any popularity contest by writing that, but that’s my opinion. Small changes is OK, and so far it hasn’t been too bad, but when is a new expansion pack coming, because I’m thinking that as long this community is fixated about balancing everything, new content won’t get prioritized or added to this game.

There are also some new bugs which was introduced with expansion 4 and they haven’t been resolved, such as one of them, when you have upgraded a card, you haveto switch back and forth to see that the card has really changed. Should be easy to fix and wouldn’t require any advanced programming, purely a lack of interest for fixing bugs from Edgebee, although I do give them credit for sometimes listening to the community…

No to all changes.

Reason: Keep things as they are and let the developers work on more important changes instead, such as making the game more exciting for new players and fix old bugs which has remained for at least 6 months. This will just make more delays for new updates including any new card boosters.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [WarFlow] State of Game January 2014

I would suggest to reduce the size of the icons at the right top corner (such as Trigrams, CheckIn, Rank etc etc..) because they are starting to clutter up the display, and honestly, it doesn’t look pretty. So either reduce the size for the icons, or place them inside a menu system or something.

Topic: Shadowland Online / Why This Game is DEAD

In my opinion, if the developers ever get tired of making bug fixes on this game and or continue to improve on this game, I would hope they could release the source code to the public. That way, this game can have as many developers as we want, but it would not create any guarantees for success in trying to make the game better.

I never spend any real money on this game (although I have) at the present, because from what I have seen so far hasn’t impressed me enough to do so. As long as there are players playing this game, the game will never be dead, but as from you have written, I too would agree that this game is dying in the sense that the lack of developers and with all the complaints ZQ are getting, if I were sitting there as a developer I am not sure if I would feel motivated enough to fix the bugs… Besides that I still believe that this is a good game, but it is not worth my money, it is simply not good enough and I’m surprised that there are those that things otherwise, I’m not really sure what has impressed them, but is important to try and have fun and try to see things from the positive side of things.

My wish for this game would be to see some real improvements and until that day come, this game is dead for me too in the sense of supporting it with real money. Hmm…

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [WarFlow] Blank Charge Page Issue

I am curious about this. I just clicked on the recharge button myself and I have no problems choosing different options. Does this issue appear after you have chosen to recharge?
