Thanks for hanging with us Darth!
We all loved working on Vorp, but in the end the revenue couldn’t even cover the cost of the servers, much less pay the people working on it (even when it was only a handful of people). No one liked seeing it go, but a turn in the company made it impossible to keep fighting.
Dragons and Titans was born out of a love for dragons and a desire to carry on the spirit of Vorp. I’m personally sorry to all the people who loved the game and I wish they weren’t so hostile about it going away. Vorp had an incredible group of people who supported it, unfortunately it’s style and hardcore nature made it nearly impossible for new players to join. We had almost no ability/cash to market the game so it was left up to ‘being viral’ – which was completely thwarted by its own unbridled noob-rape. I don’t blame the players – the game simply reached a state where about 50 people were so experience and dedicated to winning that every single new player rage quit out of the first game. We had the metrics to prove it, but we didn’t want to ‘fix it’ and lose our most dedicated fans. Eventually the game died and we were unable to save it. I’m sorry.
Ask me any questions and I’ll do my best to answer them.
