I don’t mind not being able to get the challenge cards I missed, as long as they don’t bestow a huge advantage once the card game comes out.

My $.02:

The community here is great and the majority of the users on the site are constructive, polite individuals.

There are douchebags available here as on all forums and communities.

A comment rating system would solve 99% of the problems gabbed about here. Maybe a stipulation that a 1/5 rating from a user who has been negative-commented some obscene number of times, like 1000, will no longer count toward the game’s actual rating.

A game’s page should have the ability to shut off comments, but I really do see some constructive comments, both positive and negative, on every game’s page I’ve played so far.

This thread isn’t talking about an epidemic, a catastrophe, or even a major issue with the site. The whiners in question represent a small, correctable nuisance and I predict Kongregate living on through them for quite some time.

Topic: Off-topic / Greek Mythology

Demeter, Persephone, Artemis (Apollo’s twin), Cronos, Gaia, Hera, Thetis, Helios, Hestia… in addition to important gods and goddesses there are a whole slew of lesser functional gods, like Nike, the god of victory, who inspired a line of footwear you may have heard of. Plus, a bunch of demi-gods like Pan, the goat-god of the forest, who we named a flute after, other crazy immortals like the nyads and dryads, and you got some Titans, like Prometheus, Epimetheus, and Atlas, who has a really cool story and is being referenced any time you see one of those statues in a public square with a dude holding up a globe on his back.

I love this stuff. :P

I like it, but game-specific chat is always a good idea for one like this. I love the concept of this kind of massively multiplayer flash game, though. I’d like to see more.

I like Karma as the game name, but Karma as a concept is not really closely related to luck at all! In fact, traditionally it is quite the opposite, referring to the cycle of cause and effect in various Indian religions.

Doing this will clear your saved stuff within games, but stuff like your earned badges, cards, and level on kongregate are saved server-side, right?

My firewall doesn’t seem to be the problem, unless some kind of external firewall in my apartment complex is restricting me, though I don’t see why..

What kind of ad-blocker could do it? I’ve tried both Firefox and IE.

I’ve seen one other user with this problem, and it wasn’t resolved. I don’t have any idea what’s stopping me, but I can’t connect to the chat (which means I can’t really do anything, of course).

I’ve tried with my firewall disabled entirely, to no avail. This site seems fantastic and I’d love to take part in everything, but I don’t know what’s going on here. :(
