I’m willing to play my mandatories (EsIeX3 and harbringer), and perhaps more. Unfortunately, I don’t see any more matchups (/w’ing them tells they are offline, or they don’t respond) every time I log in.

I’ve made a couple of decks of the semi-same design (except I have two teleport-to-close-range cards and Wei-Shan), but the trap combo actually works for me like 1 in 20 games. The usual reasons are either I’m afraid to try or I’m punished for trying. It’s actually costly in turns, energy, and switch prediction, not to mention card HP.

Sure, a natural move far / threat at start could work better than just a second teleport.

Hmm, just a thought: it takes a while to get used to switching and intercepting, so I’d suggest a deck that minimizes that aspect, so that you get a feel of the attacking part more safely.

Some bold fat tanking card as an opener: perhaps Cornelius Constantine or Balthazar (edit: sorry, forgot you don’t have Balt; CC then).
Tafari: prevents enemy from switching.
Rumiko with Flash Powder: you could almost always switch successfully.

IMO it would have been easier for everyone if both players had to report a match, not exactly one.

Also, there’s an option of adding game number to the form (optional): was it #1 or #2 game between two people. That way, both single and multiple reports could be handled automatically.

The minimalistic OS and browser interface is generally a good thing. As a user, one should not be obliged to care for hundreds of OS / browser fancy bells and whistles (especially when everything that matters at the moment is Kongai). My Win2003 Server has the same look (no theme), and I’m pretty much satisfied with it.

even then, if you consider guessing your opponents switches to be a matter of skill (outside of a meager tiny bit of skill really involved), then you’re entirely misunderstanding what luck is.

Possibly.

I do think that trying to predict your opponent is not “90% a game of guessing luck”.

However, here I can’t give you any solid numbers.

win/loss means nothing if you play unranked or private matches. They need to improve the skill tracking features in this game.

Right, it’s 725:597 ranked, just checked (in game: achievements → view scores → friends).

Additionally, if some card is rarely used at all or rarely used in a specific way, an average player doesn’t see that much, and this gives an advantage of surprise that may overcome a bit weakness of that card, which could be just enough to win.

Imagine Starbuck starting with move far and then spamming anchor toss / rest; how many turns will an average opponent waste on intercepts? And how much more could you gain later in the game out of the opponent thinking you were an idiot to do so? Perhaps not that much after all, but there sure are better examples.

I assume you talk of the games in which no one intercepts or switches? Then yes, there’s not much you can do in deck design. Otherwise, I played only very few games with cc/balt/yoshiro/anex in my deck, and still W/L ratio is like 730:600. Doesn’t it invalidate your point?

Teams 3 and 4 played a total of 23 games out of 9 × 3 = 27 possible; are we finished? But that would mean there were four 2:0 matchups, is that so?

It is hard to see when the individual scores are hidden, but right, a team is a team, so perhaps that’s the right practice.

I’m assuming Yoshiro used RD the first turn. Yoshiro should move close → rest after the ninja port. Yoshiro is at 61 hp., 80 energy at close afterwards. Let’s say rumiko’s good options after this are likely evisc or port:

Evisc → PD → PD tie, assuming all PDs proc and yoshi doesn’t stun, but otherwise lose. Negligible chance, so I’ll ignore this.
Evisc → Port is bad

Port → yoshi moves close and rests again to prevent port → shurix2. Yoshi left with 61-9=52 hp. During this rest, rumi still has 48 hp and 70 energy. Evisc → PD → PD requires only the first PD to proc, although it’s less than a 7/40 chance and assumes that yoshi won’t stun on the OP vs the evisc and second PD, which brings the chances down by about half. I’d guess about 3/40, which is just under 10%. Yoshiro can also improve his chances by doing an OP first turn instead of an RD, which he should be able to do later. Too lazy to do the exact math, since I didn’t factor in yoshi dodge.

Well, perhaps you are right actually, if Yoshiro plays to be able to force close each turn, and ocassionally rests/chi reflects for that, he wins. (3 x teleport + 1 x barrage are enough, too, but right, just don’t let rumiko have a turn to attack from far, and she loses.)

10 Rumiko, Flash powder vs. Yoshiro Crane [1-9] Rumiko wish she could grab some bench.

I’d argue it’s actually 0-10

Rumi doesn’t have very many options at close. She can evisc → ninja, evisc → PD, or evisc → rest. Assuming stuns, Evisc → ninja will force yoshiro to move in close after the ninja, but rumiko can’t do anything after that (left with 40 energy at close). Evisc→ PD will leave her optionless as well. It doesn’t matter if PD procs, since Yoshi will get in those 3 RDs. Even if she goes Evisc → PD → PD with full procs, that brings it to a tie, and the chances of this happening is 7/160. Evisc → rest looping won’t cut it either, since yoshi’s faster than that. She really can’t do anything at all.


I’d like to argue this. I was thinking, if Rumiko is successful with a surprise Ninja-port first turn, then 2 x Shuriken Barrage, she could actually do this. And Yoshiro needs 4 close attacks or Chi Blast + 2 close attacks to win (unless Chi Blast procs or something crits).
