Yeah, sometimes it’s really obvious someone’s googling.

I got it figured out eventually. When you mouse over your target, the icon for the booster you can use is displayed to the lower right of the target.

I can’t seem to use my tactical boosters. When do I use them? How do I use them?

I click on them, nothing happens.

I just did the “armored only method” to get past H2. I feel like I cheated.

Topic: Kongregate / New Kongregate Version: Activity feeds for everyone!

I don’t want an activity feed. Not only do I not care about it, it’s visually unappealing.

I DO want “recently played” back. I used that feature a LOT…. “What was that game I played the other day that I really enjoyed? Oh, LOOK! There it is, right there on my home page!”

So… please… take away the ugly, useless activity feed and give me back my recently played games.

Topic: Kongregate / Suggestions

SUGGESTION:
I would really like to see a separate section for games that actually cost money if you want to be successful (the most recent one like this I encountered was Swords and Potions). These are the game model where you can play it, but if you want the good stuff, you have to pay.

I sincerely have no objection at all to a game designer making money from his work. None at all. I don’t begrudge for even a moment.

However, when I come to Kongregate, my expectation is that I’m playing a free game, and it always frustrates me when I realize I’ve been sucked back into one of those types of games.

Again, I don’t mind the games themselves, I’m not offended that a game designer be compensated for his time…. I would just like to know that’s what I’m getting into before I start playing it.

Once I figured out how to get back to “home,” I’m fine with it.

Prior to that, I hated it.

No cheating. No cheat engine. Just playing the game.

….personally, I’ve never much seen the point of using cheats.

I’m playing on Chrome. I keep getting “lost sync” and then when it comes back, it wants me to log in. I see you fixed this same problem for IE, but I’m playing on Chrome.

Fun little game, but I keep losing progress every time this happens.

I’m going to take a break from it for a few days and see if it’s a bit more stable after.

Topic: Kongregate / Recommendations broken?

I kind of liked the recommendations when I first noticed it, and I did find a lot of interesting games I wouldn’t have played otherwise.

But today, it’s recommending games to me based on my “high rating” of “3.”

I went back and changed my rating of that game to “1,” but it continued recommending games to based on my high rating of that game.

Then I started rating every game “1” that it recommended to me because of that game.

NOW it’s recommending even more games to me based on my “high rating” of “1” on some of the other games.

I thought it was working great before. What’s going on now?

I’m sure I’m missing something really simple here… but….

I have all the items needed for crafting several recipes, but I have a 0% chance to craft them. I have read books and books and more books, so I have points in the skills.

Do I need to buy something for my house?

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / What do these numbers mean?

Ok. We’re clearly not going to come to agreement, and I can live with that if you can.

But since you seem to have misunderstood my suggestion, I’m going to restate it quickly.

I think that the FAQ post would look pretty dumb if the first question was “What does the orb do?” and the answer was “When you scroll over it, a bunch of numbers appear.” with no further explanation.

Right now, the first question says this:
-
1) What’s the magic orb at the bottom left hand corner?
When you mouse over it, it displays two things. One: Shaded maps are those with challenge amulets on them. The shading does not go away after you complete a challenge. Two: The best multiplier you’ve achieved for each level. There are also white bars, which are just recognition for doing well:
0-4.9x: 0 bars…
-

My suggestion is that it say something like this instead:
-
1) What’s the magic orb at the bottom left hand corner, and what do those lines and numbers mean?

Again, I looked for the answer to my question, I didn’t find it, I posted here. And now I’m making a suggestion to make it easier for the next person with the same question to find an answer.

It’s your FAQ, of course you’re free to disregard my suggestion if you want.

Now, I don’t think this discussion is really doing anything helpful, so unless there’s something addressed to me that I need to answer, I’ll just move on.

Oh, EDIT: In answer to your question: Yes, I did read the FAQ. When I first started playing, I read the whole thing. I found it helpful, thank you for putting that together. I imagine you put a lot of work into it, so I do understand why you might feel the need to defend it.

sure, you were thinking about the numbers. The first question of the FAQ discusses what the numbers mean. It does say “please read before posting” not “please skim before posting.” I don’t mean to be rude or disrespectful, but to me it logically follows that when you scroll over the map, the numbers show up. So when you’re wondering about the numbers, it makes sense to read the answer to the question “What’s the magic orb at the bottom left hand corner?” since you didn’t understand fully what it displays.

I am simply suggesting a change. If it is the most frequent question here… perhaps other people are having difficulty finding it as well.

My question WASN’T “what’s the globe…” my question was “What are these numbers?” Should I have made the intuitive leap that since I only saw the numbers when I hovered over the globe the answer was there? Perhaps. But if the heading for number 1 said “What’s that globe and what do those lines and numbers mean?” I would have stopped right there and read the answer and we wouldn’t be having this conversation now.

If what you really want is for people to find the answers for themselves, I suggest you make it a little easier. That’s it. If you want to make this my failing, OK. But I’ll say again… if this is indeed the most common question… perhaps it’s not just me

I’m not trying to be rude, but this is the single most frequently asked question in the forum. That’s why we made a FAQ thread and clearly labeled it so people would know to look there first.

If it is the most frequently asked question and if the original post can still be edited, I suggest changing the title of #1.

I did indeed look over the FAQ before I posted my question, and I scanned over recent posts. However, there is no heading that addresses the numbers on the map, so I posted my question. #1 does mention the globe, but I wasn’t thinking about the globe when I asked my question, I was thinking about the numbers.

Now, I didn’t go to my room and cry because you hurt my feelings or anything… but I did find your response to be just a slightly more articulate way to say “l2read, n00b, lolz.” I suppose it was helpful, at least… I did indeed find my answer there.

But, enough of that. You take your chances when posting on the interwebz, I suppose.

You’re welcome, Ryan.

Since I understand that sometimes you can fail to notice an answer even when you look for it, I thought actually answering your question in a polite and helpful manner would be the appropriate thing to do.

Yes, I do have premium – I have loved every version of the gemcraft series and believed that I have already gotten $5 worth of game – I didn’t mind a bit paying for premium.

At the point the screenie was taken, I was about level 190.

I’m going back and redoing earlier levels for more score.

Clearly, a higher number indicates a higher performance, and I can see the relationship between the numbers and the lines…

But what specifically do they mean? They don’t appear to match up to the multiplier.

Topic: GemCraft Labyrinth / Squish out?

The explanation I was given was to make one G1 of color X, 15 G1 of color Y, and 16 of color Z, then combine them all down to one G6. This makes sense, the effects of X gem are almost completely eliminated, getting me essentially a dual gem with triple gem benefits.

But…. can someone explain why it’s better to do that than to make a G1 of X, a G5 of Y and Z, combine to get a G6?

What if I’m late in the game and I’m crafting G12s easily. Will combining two G12s and a G1 get me an adaquately “squished out” G13 gem?

Thanks guys. :)

EDIT: Or… let me ask this question another way.

For my manafarm gem, I craft a LOX I start by making 1 g1 of X, then 8 g1 lime, then 23 g1 orange, and combine them down into 1 LYX G6. Then, as soon as I can, I craft a g6 orange and combine it into a g7 which is mostly orange, some lime, and a tiny bit X. From there, I just upgrade. If I have a cyan or blue as one of my options, I will up the “x” portion to get more stun or slow (8 cyan or blue, 8 lime, 16 orange). This works?

For my kill gems, I craft LYX. I craft a single g1 X, then 15 L and 16 Y, combine them down to a LYX G6. From there, I add more or less equal lime and yellow.

Am I doing it the most effective way?

I have every other challenge amulet, but I can’t seem to get even close to 7000 monsters on this map.

Suggestions? Strategy?
