Post Your Wins.
Can’t say I understand why so few people have this badge. It’s hard, sure, but it’s not fourth-hardest-on-the-site hard.

The last one though… I had to go really slowly to keep the cops ahead of me and avoid bombs. I was at 95% damage when I finally crossed the 8 mile mark.

[New] Split test on the game page
Really, the most important thing to me is being able to quickly go down and look at badge info. I like that it’s directly below the game now, and would prefer it stays there. Below that is game info, then comments, as it is now. New aesthetics are fine, but please keep the current order.
Also, after looking at the new layout a bit, I don’t like that only the shortened badge requirements are now shown, where it used to show the full descriptions. I like to be able to see the full description of all the badges at the same time, something that the achievements chat tab doesn’t allow (also, it requires closing the chat window).
Badges are what separate this site from other flash game sites, don’t put them in the background, throw them in the player’s face.

Flash Game + Badge Strategy Discussion threads
Writing a full guide for a site like KCG or Kongreguide requires much more of a commitment. In a forum topic, users would be able to post simple, one line tips, or full guides. Offsite guides restrict input to only those who know about the site and are bothered to make an account. Onsite allows anyone with a Kong account to post whatever.
The inspiration for this idea is the site angrybirdsnest.com. This site has a page for each level of angry birds (no matter how easy or hard it is), and then users post strategies in the comments, as long or as short as they want. They have a few dedicated admins who post full walkthoughs, but it is often the comments that are more helpful. I think we have way more hardcore Kongregate players than they have hardcore Angry Birds players. Sure, Angry Birds levels take much less time to write about, but they are released 15-30 at a time, while Kong games are badged one at a time. So, why are we unable to have guides while they succeed?

Flash Game + Badge Strategy Discussion threads
So, it’s been bothering me that there are no on site resources for many flash games. A lot of games have guides over at jayisgames, but not every game is on there, and often the strategies aren’t specifically suited for Kongregate badges. Game comments are also frequently unorganized and unhelpful.
A few months ago, I posted a topic about creating a new forum specifically for flash game discussion, as General Gaming is full of console stuff and almost no flash games. Sites like Armor Games and Newgrounds have forums like this. People seemed to dislike this idea, saying it was unnecessary, so I just shrugged and moved on.
But today I was playing through They Took Our Candy and I thought that it would be helpful if there was a place people could ask questions and give tips on the game (other than the comments, which are impossible to ask questions on or have your opinion noticed). To that end, I made this thread in General Gaming:
http://www.kongregate.com/forums/3-general-gaming/topics/306096-they-took-our-candy-discussion
The point of this post is to ask, do you think it would be useful for me to make a topic for every game in the future that gets badges? Or just the ones that seem moderately difficult? And if so, should it be in General Gaming or Kongregate? Or, is all of this just a stupid, unnecessary idea?
Each thread could not only have tips and text/video walkthoughs, but maybe there is someone interested in writing full reviews of flash games, just for fun?
Let me know what you guys think. If I get a warm response, I’ll continue to do this for future games that get badges.
TL;DR: Should each badged game get its own forum thread?
EDIT: A couple of people have noted that http://www.kongregate.com/forums/1-kongregate/topics/295910-new-badge-discussion is a place to do this. However, looking through the last few pages, I see no tips for any of (at least) the last three games to get badges. Also, if something useful was posted there for a specific game, and I wanted to find it a year from now, it’d be stupidly hard (especially if I didn’t know there even was a guide). If games had their own topics, you could just google the game and find it immediately.

"They Took Our Candy" Discussion
I’m thinking that it would be a good idea to create a thread for every game that receives badges, so that there’s a common place to discuss strategies and compliment how great the game is. Or whine about how crappy it is.
This has been happening for the most popular games, but having one for every game will help people who are going through old badges and having difficulty at a certain game.
They Took Our Candy
Badges:
Confection Collection Badge – Easy:
Collect 500 Candy
Invasion of the Candy Snatchers – Medium:
Complete Story Mode
Sweet Stuff Badge – Hard:
Score 30,000 points in survival mode

[Tournament] LOUSY SMARCH MADNESS -- Round of 32 (Death vs. Monstars)
Alright, I have absolutely no chance to beat SSS’s score. I’m way too busy, and also I hate this game. Also he has one of the highest scores ever.
I would like to retire from this tournament, handing my position over to WiiPlayer113, if Precarious allows it.
Good luck to everyone else.

Wii, I’m so sorry about this.
I’m also sorry to all the people hoping for a Wii-3S matchup.
But, upsets happen. :D

I really like Monomaze. It’s fun.

No. Shawner’s going to beat you, and then I’ll beat him. The final’s going to be DO2, so everyone else will ragequit, leaving me victorious. Also, I have munkyman at considerably shorter odds than you do.
You’re all assuming Wii beats me in the first round.
Which he probably will. But I guess we’ll see.

Why don't we have a forum just for flash games?
But that’s just it: It’s inactive because none of us high level people go there, because it’s not really related to Kongregate. If there was a place just to discuss flash games, give badge tips and such, it would attract a different crowd.

Why don't we have a forum just for flash games?
There’s a forum for multiplayer games on Kong, a bunch for individual games, and a general forum that is filled with non-Kongregate stuff. Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to discuss each new game on Kong in its own forum thread, if desired? Most flash game topics get buried under off-site themed gaming threads in General Gaming. A game like Jelly Escape would definitely benefit from its own thread, where people can discuss strategies. Sites like Armorgames have separate forums for flash and non-flash games.

There are more badges that were completely removed from the sight for whatever reasons, I believe. If you’re going by actual badge ID number (if there is such a thing), we’re probably already over 2,000. So, since you’re just using badges that actually exist on the site now, Prince of Persia doesn’t count.
Also, I was just thinking, someone should to make a game specifically for this purpose. A tribute to Kong or something. Nerdook could probably do it in a week.

That’s the 1981th and 1982th badge. Unless there’s something I’m forgetting.
Did you count the badges that were just removed, they no longer appear on the all games list
Right, sorry. It is 1987.
Also, I don’t like Monster’s Den. Certainly badge it, but not for number 2000.

That page starts at 1981, so we’re currently at 1982. Unless I’m forgetting something important.

Can someone explain the appeal of this game?
I’m not against games that make you wait in general, as I used to be into both Tyrant and Backyard Monsters. But in this game, there is so little progress made with each visit that I don’t see why anyone is playing for any reason other than badges. It’s excruciatingly boring. Can someone explain why you are all playing this game?
