Topic: Kongregate Labs / Can you really quit your day job and make a game?

Thanks for the information! The pay is actually slightly better than I hoped but still somewhat low to make a living by itself considering factors such as no social security. I’ve made some downloadable free-games in past few years so I think I’ll continue doing my day job and slowly develop some flash games for the future.

(Kongregate Wants You To Quit Your Day Job (And Make Games))

I’m seriously concidering to quit my day job and publishing some games to Kongregate or somewhere. But is it really possible for one to earn enough money to make a living? Let’s say, if I make 3 games with average of 3.5-4 stars per year and publish them exclusively to Kongregate, how much money can you possibly earn? I kind of feel it’s a taboo to ask such a question but I need some numbers to make my decision and bring forward my plan. Thanks.
