Flying a heli on Sandstorm is still crap & chances of things getting better are very low.

SA7 doesn’t require 2 hits to kill a heli anymore, so thanks for fixing that, but the speeds do appear to be alot faster, its way too easy killing helis now & I don’t even use a cam with my SA7.

Jets have no impact in the helicopter code, the helicopters (Hind and AH64) were not changed. I did notice that the stationary AA guns now have armor piercing bullets. We will reduce the deadliness on these guns, this should address the issue.

Regarding the Stinger, SA7, M2 and BMP2 rockets, they were not changed in any way from the last version of the game.

Regarding the M82 and OSV96: infantry and vehicle guns are not the same. Vehicle guns are designed to be more powerful. The top MG on the tanks are designed for AA, the M82 is designed for anti personal and anti light vehicles use. We need to add additional code in the next game release that will give the M82 and OSV96 the same stats as the vehicle mounted 50 cal MGs. But this will have to wait for the next release.

Thats my gripe, everything was changed & improved except the heli,

Stinger, SA7, M2 and BMP2 rockets appear to be alot faster with almost no smoke trail, many times you are dead with zero warning, prior to the update you had a chance to evade but it’s almost impossible now, something has changed but of course I cant prove it.

Making those changes would help, but it appears too many changes were made to combat planes resulting in helis being useless in their primary role as an assault platform. Are there jets in Sandstorm? NO! But players have available all of the weapons needed to fight agains jets now being used on helis, in Sandstorm things were pretty balanced prior to the update, sure there were a few really good heli pilots but most of the time (outside of the glitchers) the game was fine, now its a joke.

I have mentioned some of the problems, if you like I can provide additional details.

Fly a heli on Sandstorm for a couple of games & you’re tune might change. The respawn times are too long. Shoulder fired rockets are way too fast. All these new high powered guns eat up helis with just a few rounds, even the tanks machine gun rips a heli apart in no time. I can go on but I doubt it’s going to help.

I thank you you for the enjoyable game up until now, I hope you have success with the new changes but I wont spend anymore money nor tell anymore friends about this game in its current state.

Looks to me the desire to introduce airplanes & naturally their countermeasures has really screwed things up on maps that don’t even have planes.

Helis are now mad out of tin, player named Javilvate can kill a heli with less then 5 rounds firing from an anti aircraft vehicle (I don’t know what weapons he has purchased giving him this advantage), very lame!

Here is another goodie…a tank machine gun can now rip a heli apart with just a handful of rounds, they are accurate & travel pretty far, boy this is some update!

After you score a kill & you are awarded points, that animation is very distracting while you are tracking the next victim

Anti aircraft guns on top of building can fire 120 rounds vs a heli before having to reload…thats a good one too.

If the goal was to weaken helis then you guys get a A+ for accomplishing that, in Sandstorm flying a heli has totally changed for the worst…

Respawn times are too long, good luck waiting for a heli to respawn in a 10 minute game.

Rocket cams have increased in viewing range & speed, good luck evading one, Stinger guys using the rocket cam can get kills almost across the map…they don’t even leave their base, I used to be able to evade & dodge them most of the time but the increased speed should be looked into on maps that are small & wont have jets.

I understand adding weapons & the need for you guys to make money, but these powerful guns are chewing up helis.

If this was the goal, then great job.

Please explain why vehicle respawn times were dramatically increased, lots not to like about this update but this is top of my list.

(Edit) I think the respawn time is like 2 minutes, so if a player flies a sortie that last a couple of minutes, then dies, the respawn time is 2 minutes, that doesn’t leave much time in a 10 minute game.

Flying a heli on Sandstorm is now imposable, rocket cams can stay in their base & hit targets over opponents base & rockets speed is now doubled making it imposable to evade, rockets cams range on small maps like Sandstorm need to be addressed.

Maybe its some super rocket I am not aware of yet.

Vehicles take way too long to respawn.

It cant be done by everyone…thats the issue, select players can see super far while the rest can’t, some players might have the latest & greatest PC’s|Macs that might help but some other combination of factors is causing this glitch.

Some snipers can see abnormally far…I hope that gets addressed as well.
