Topic: General Gaming / Sinjid/Krin Disappearance?

So, I noticed that Sinjid (all versions, including Battle Arena, SotW, and the newest one) are no longer on Kongregate, and similarly, Krin has been replaced by someone who appears to be an impostor.

Did something happen that I missed? Sinjid SotW was one of my favorite games (in fact, I enjoyed it more than Sonny, its more famous cousin and successor), and I would be rather disappointed if the game, and with it, my save, was gone.

Edit: As a side note, Krin has just posted his first blog post in nearly a year (http://krinstudio.com/), talking of Sonny 3 and two other games developed with Unity, so he’s not dead.

Topic: War of Omens / Card Ideas

Pretty much every CCG I know makes one of these eventually. Here’s some ideas I’ve had:

Lasher (Slave):
Scarce?
2 health, 8 coins
On turn/feed: Deal 1 damage to each ally, all other allies attack.

A sort of psuedo-sacrifice that lets you get rid of all your weak allies at once, instead of leaving it to chance.

Warleader (Slave):
Scarce?
1 health, 10 coins
On play/feed: Feed all War animals. If you have at least one, draw an ally.

A sort of Marshal for War animals. Since it has low health, it’s risky to use unless you have Sacrificial Lambs (sacrifice deck, anyone?) but could potentially lead to more combos.

Capitalism (Prosperity):
Uncommon?
13 coins
Draw a card.
For each coin, +1 coin.

There’s already this for food and death, just adding one more.

Indulgence (Prosperity):
Rare?
13 coins
Draw a card.
For each magic, +1 coin.

Same.

Joker’s Coin:
40% chance, lose 1 coin.
60% chance, gain 1 coin.

Average is the same as Vicar’s Doubloon, it’s just more random.

Fey Coin:
+1 magic.

Wishing coin vrs Vicar’s Doubloon implies that coins are worth 10% less than magic, so this is actually underpowered (by that logic). Definitely worth more than an average coin, though: I’d play this over Serpent’s for sure.

Protip: delete long blocks of text in quotes so it’s not super spammy.

Anyway, in response, Zam’s Sword deals 2 damage to every non demon which, in a demon army, is basically 2 dark damage to enemies. It’s also increased by 5 from racial weaknesses. Additionally, it increases demon attack by 2 with each casting, making the damage increase exponentially over time. The point of the Martyr’s equipment is that (hopefully) the sheer regeneration and solid damage is on par with a Zam Sword/Shard of Oryth army, and against most armies is fairly strong – essentially the same as the demon equipment, but Dark-resistance/healing focused instead of Dark damage/damage focused.

The Archangels aren’t at all balanced, but they’re the counterparts to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, which (I think) were made by Berzerk already. As far as I can see from the wiki, this is their stats:

http://battle-cry.wikia.com/wiki/File:Death.png
150 points, 5 slash/15 dark damage, 5 dark resist, 50 defense
Aura: Every unit in your army loses 3 defense every 10 seconds.

Counterpart: Resurrection

http://battle-cry.wikia.com/wiki/File:Famine.png
150 points, 5 piercing/15 poison damage, 5 poison resist, 50 defense
Aura: Every unit in your army loses 10 defense.

Counterpart: Plenty

http://battle-cry.wikia.com/wiki/File:War.png
150 points, 5 slash/15 fire damage, 5 fire resist, 50 defense
Aura: Every unit in your opponent’s army gains 3 slashing and 3 piercing damage.

Counterpart: Peace

http://battle-cry.wikia.com/wiki/File:Conquest.png (the legendary horseman is Pestilence)
150 points, 5 blunt/15 electric damage, 5 electric resist, 50 defense
Aura: Every unit in your opponent’s army gains 5 defense.

Counterpart: Health (opposing Pestilence)

The Four Horsemen are extremely strong, but make life hard for the army as a whole. The idea of the Archangels is that alone, they are fairly worthless, but they make the entire army much stronger. Some slightly balances:

Archangel of Plenty: 150 pts, Legendary Creature
-10 all attacks, 20 Defense, Resist Poison 20
Aura: Every 5 seconds, every unit in your army gains +1 Defense.

Archangel of Resurrection: 150 pts, Legendary Creature
-10 all attacks, 20 Defense, Resist Dark 20
Aura: If any Angel dies, summon an Angel Commoner (Angel, no equips) in it’s place in 5 seconds.

Archangel of Health: 150 pts, Legendary Creature
-10 all attacks, 20 Defense, Resist Poison 20
Aura: Every ally unit gains +5 defense.

Archangel of Peace: 150 pts, Legendary Creature
-10 all attacks, 20 Defense, Resist Fire 20
Aura: All enemy units lose 2 atk in all elements.

For your calculations for everything except maybe iron… uh, no.
Gold – 10000 gold, 1 legendary, 4 rares, 10 uncommons – 10000/(1/1+4/5+10/25) = 4545 gold per legendary.
Steel Starter – 7900 gold, 5 rares, 25 unc, 20 commons – 7900/(5/5+25/25+20/133) = 3673 GPL
Steel Booster – 2660 gold, 2 rares, 5 unc, 8 commons – 2660/(2/5+5/25+8/133) = 4029 GPL
Iron Starter – 2600 gold, 20 uncommons, 30 commons – 2600/(20/25+30/133) = 2535 GPL
Iron Booster – 700 gold, 5 uncommons, 10 commons – 700/(5/25+10/133) = 2543 GPL
Stone Starter – 1160 gold, 2 uncommon, 48 commons – 1160/(2/25+48/133) = 2631 GPL
Stone Booster – 380 gold, 1 uncommon, 14 commons – 380/(1/25+14/133) = 2616 GPL

As you can see, Iron Starter works best for legendaries.

I don’t have crafting conversions for rares, but it might be that Iron Starter is best for that, too. Steel booster’s a hell of a lot faster, though, and in this game time basically is money, so it’s better. And if anyone wants to argue that the time oconsuming uncommons outweighs the price… Well, I can buy packs and craft the loot to get about one legend every 5-10 seconds, and it seems 33 gold per second is about the fastest you can go. So I lose less than 500 gold per legend – still a far better deal than the gold or steel packs.

One, Gold Packs are worthless – you can get 1 legendary for 2600 gold by crafting away the items (and have 3 leftover commons to boot).

Two, you can easily farm 2k every ~90 seconds with Scion_2010’s army. Just go to multiplayer co-op survival and make him your friend, then beat the heck out of survival over and over. Edit: Turns out it’s 1:13 if you have a demon with Rhigar’s Bow in the fourth row down, that + a few seconds transition.

Hope this helps people who didn’t know!

Topic: BattleCry / A Pack-Buying Guide

With crafting, it turns out Iron Starter is best for Uncommons AND Legendaries (one pack is enough to craft a legendary), while Steel Booster is best for Rare. Also, since Commons are in Iron Starters, you can easily get enough commons through them.

Thanks for the much more comprehensive, advanced advice. I’m still in the second act of Heroes, so I was mostly asking for help XD

The elite tank was absurdly good in the first few battles, where damage was always measured in at most 3 piercing or slashing, and so they were basically invincible against all but the rare caster. After playing a bit more, they seem to be weakening, so it might not be a viable strategy later.

I also had tankers be weapon less because 90% of my damage is coming from bows.

Edit: Two Steam Behemoths are my new tanks. They are amazing.

Topic: BattleCry / Strategy

Basically, I want to make a list of things people do to win! Unit builds, formations, counters, anything that’ll make your army stronger. Here’s some things I’ve found:

Unit Archetypes:

A key thing to remember is that the more people you have in a row, the more your enemy melee units can attack, but the more your melee units can attack. As a result, stalling for ranged units is best done by a powerful elite unit. In addition, only certain ranged weapons apply weapon damage to their attacks (I think), so it’s best to pile damage bonus on them (looking at you, Elite Archer), and leave casters mostly unequipped.

Elite Archer: Basically, you get really high damage on a hilariously fast attack. Most of the time, this is a kill every 2-4 seconds. Put them in the back row, and get that extra damage the entire battle. Example: Elemental + Bow + Wizard’s Ring + Cursed Armor

Elite Tank: This is a unit you pile all sorts of resistance (especially piercing and slashing) on, and send out alone so he can stall the enemy army while your ranged units destroy. Example: Human + Tower Shield + Heavy Plate

Tank: A unit with some sort of decent armor and shield, maybe some resistance, that fills up a row. Used to protect same-row allies from attack. Might have some weaponry. Example: Orc + Buckler + Boiled Leather + Dagger

Spearman: A melee unit with a spear, filling up a row behind Tanks. Used to add in more support to the Tanks. It’s probably a good idea to give them some sort of damage boost, if you have extra. Example: Human + Pike + Tribal Chief Crown

Archer: A long ranged unit with some damage boost and a bonus applying weapon, filling up the back rows. Used to deal ranged damage in support of tanks and elite tanks. Put some minor damage boost on them. Example: Human + Bow + Tribal Chief Crown

Blaster: A long ranged caster that deals area damage, filling up space in the back rows. Used to deal ranged damage to big rows of front liners. Basically just a unit with a staff. Example: Human + Fireblast Staff

Striker: A short ranged caster that deals single unit damage, keeping close behind melee units. Usually one row behind a large melee row, they deal substantial damage with reasonable recharge rates. They also are good at taking out big targets. Sometimes, they can be used as another tanking row by giving them armor. Example: Orc + Fire Staff + Plate Armor.

Buffer: A buffer that makes your Archers or frontline soldiers competent, taking advantage of their low base damage. Always with at least a full row of other units, they are rare and extremely useful. I would say they are best placed among Archers. Example: Orc + Cult Flag.

Big Blasters: Multi-square, huge AoE and damage, generally tough siege engines. These… kinda suck, but if you can fill things in they are useable. Example: Catapult.

My army looks like this:

1 row Blasters+Flagbearers+Elite Archer + 2 rows Archers
2 rows blank + 1 row Strikers
Elite Tank
1 row Blank + 1 row Spearmen + 1 row Tanks
Elite Tanks

First group is on Hold, rest are Slow.

The first Elite Tanks are golems I randomly found, mounted on Charge Horses. They go forward and blow up some of the first row. Next, my tanks+spearmen fight off more infantry (often warding off some enemy Blasters), then another Elite Tank to stall while my ranged group blasts. I usually adjust the spearmen/tank row so that they absorb enemy strikers/musketeers, and the Elite Tank(s) absorb blasters.

Druid’s “Strength of the Forest” 2nd, delayed buff only lasts one turn, not the “next two turns” on the card.

If the packs could be refunded a reasonable time before SNC ends, or SNC rewards I am reasonably near granted, it would be great. Thank you!

Edit: Two more glitches:

Draft ID: 233125 (Could be 233032)

Henrietta’s Poltergeist doesn’t count bonus damage from other cards in depletion.

Draft ID: 233176

Same glitch as above.

Also, it appears henrietta’s poltergeist only fails when I critical or other buffs are present? May just be random.

If you said you got a mix of Mystery Packs, energy potions and skill points 10 times in a row, I would say bad luck. Interestingly enough, that’s not the worst luck ever, but eh.

Two things: One, if you could implement some sort of scroll function for the Talent Point screen, it would make it functional for those that cannot get the screen to expand past the standard size. Alternatively, just fix the window so it actually resizes to the screen. Two, if you could add a filter for PvP searching, it would save everyone a great deal of time when searching for suitable targets. By this I mean either make it so only selected levels are shown or so that selected levels are not shown, and add avatar filters so you can only see selected avatars/never see selected avatars

Topic: Clash of the Dragons / There should be more uses for gold

Just to provide a purely mathematical point of view, you get average half packs back from a normal draft, 2 packs per week from SNC, 1 for day 7 and 2.5 DC from day 5. That means you can always get a static value of (2+1+.1) = 3.1 draft packs per week. 3.1 draft packs are GUARENTEED, that is, you can get them simply by conceding the match and showing up daily. If you get, lets say a draft pack 1/10 of the time, you’re at 3.2 packs a week.

Now, that might not seem like a lot, but since you get half packs back on average, you can fairly easily get 6.4 packs of drafting (or three and a bit drafts) per week as an average player. If you want explanation google “1+1/2+1/4…” or take a precalc class, but basically, if you start with 64 packs, you will get 32 back, and if you use those, you will get 16 back, then 8, then 4, then 2 then 1 for a total of 127 packs – and if you did this with an arbitrarily high number you would get exactly double packs back.

And that’s just the average player. An above average player, with let’s say 2/3 packs back, can get 3 packs to every one, getting 13.1 packs of drafting a week. A player with 3/4 can get 4, 4/5 can get 5, ect cetera. I believe the highest I’ve seen is 54 1st, 2 2nd 3 3rd and 1 4th, averaging almost exactly 16/17 packs back for 17 packs of play per pack. So, that person (who wrote an excellent guide for 2nd clash which I still use partially) would be getting a massive 54.4 packs of play per week, enough for SNC 20 drafts every saturday. Now, I don’t expect anyone to get that good, but you can still get at least your first SNC draft and maybe go for 5 every month or so if you are a decent player.

So, to (what I think is solidly) trump the one who believed 75 DC per draft is ridiculous – it would be, if that was the only factor. Luckily for us free players, it’s not, so we can enjoy drafting every week.
