Topic: Off-topic / ForumMod: an Anonymous Abuse of Power
If you have a question or issue, posting a thread in the forums is not the way to do this. Most people know that. You should be contacting forum mods privately to discuss your issues. Creating public drama shows your attitude.
Secondly: You are obviously trying to personalize your ban instead of looking at yourself. Bad choice. That’s one of the first signs looked at when you complain and will not help your case, along with the above. You have absolutely no need to know who banned you. The only ones who need to know are forum mods and admins, as they are the only ones who can do anything about your ban or your complaint. If your complaint is legitimate, an administrator will address it with the forum mod; which nullifies your claim of anonymity. If you do not care for anonymity, feel free to pass on to us your real name and address so that we can hold you personally accountable for any abuses of the site on your part.
Additionally, a 15 minute silence for the forums is getting off really easy. In a forum discussion the other day, an admin referred to their standard use of 1 day silences [EDIT]. If you got off with less, count your blessings.
Finally, the guidelines are quite clear about these issues and should indicate to you that we are cracking down on this behavior. It’s obvious to anyone paying half attention that when a forum mod removes your derailing posts, you shouldn’t put them back in. Since you were not following what was obvious direction and continued to push towards trouble, your posting allowance was restricted for the shortest amount of time allowed until things could be handled.
In the future, it is wise to pay attention and read the guidelines as you are asked. Read our terms of service as well, you are not entitled to act without consequence. If you wish to retain your posting privileges, it would be wise to make sure you are not provoking others, feeding flames, helping to derail threads and re-posting items that have been removed by mods. It’s not hard to figure out and your reports aren’t going to frighten anyone into not enforcing guidelines that are clearly posted.
