Lynx

I had been in this tavern a great few times, and the only times it has ever been this lively was when there was a bar brawl, which, like the current situation, I usually have a hand in starting. I look around at with a grin at all the patrons and the young prostitute sat on my leg with her arm around me. Everyone was now sat in a semi-circle, eagerly awaiting the conclusion to this story. I open my mouth to continue but I am cut off by my own laughter as I recite this experience. “Her eye fell out, she had a glass eye and it fucking fell out and rolled across the floor.” There was a moment of silence, before an explosion of laughter. “I thought about payin’ her half just for that” I finish with a wide smile. I finish off the rest of my drink and nod at the bartender signalling another.

“Now,” I start with a slight smirk before seeing two guards walk in, they were both pretty short but they stood out because one of them was extremely overweight. His pudgy face beamed with curiosity as he came over to the group to investigate. I made sure to keep them in sight for the fat one had something I needed and I was not leaving without it.
“… The cheapest one I had was about 3 villages east of here…” I adorned a perplexed look for a moment.
“Might have been west, could have been south for all I fuckin’ know, I was loaded most of the trip. Anyway, this village, almost all the women are prostitutes, no idea why, but this woman was 2 goddamn coins. If ya’ seen her you’d understand, face like a bull’s arse, but still, are you going to pass up a sale? The irony was, she was pretty good, definitely the best bang for your buck.” I started laughing a bit uncontrollably after realizing the double entendre.

I glanced back at the guards, just as hooked as everyone else sitting here. I’m not one to brag, but I did have a good bit of humour for a demon, it did help that these stories were all true. I turned my attention to the woman sat on my leg that I was paying this night. “Well missus ya’ looks half decent, but fuck, some smell coming off you. Ya’ should be paying me to get behind that.” She flushed with embarrassment and got up, I grabbed her arm and pulled her back. “Oh fuck off, ya’ knows I’m just fucking with ya’. Anyway, you already have my money and I’m sure you’ve taken worse for a lot less.” This only embarrassed her more, but at least she wasn’t leaving anymore. I leaned back in my chair and nodded at the pudgy guard for his attention. “Look at these jesters” I said, scanning the room to try and get the crowd in agreement. “Not sure if you’re the King’s finest, but they definitely sent the King’s finest gut.” I gave him a cocky smirk as people began to laugh, but noticeably less, you could tell some people were uncomfortable with mocking a King’s guard. The fat one turned to the skinny one for help, but the skinny one was chuckling and doing a bad job of concealing it. When he stopped, he looked at his fat friend, then back to me.

“Can’t place your accent, boy, where you from?” He asks, standing up straight trying to stretch his 5 and a half frame into something intimidating. Almost on cue the girl get up from my lap.
“You best watch who you’re callin’ boy, you little cunt, or I’ll fuckin’ streal ya’.” By the end of my sentence, I was on my feet and although we were some feet away, I could tell by the look in his eyes that he underestimated the size of me. The bar drew deathly quiet for the first time tonight.

And what things do I have to tweak? I think I may know what you mean so I elaborated on this:

He does not like demons one bit, a fact which he is not afraid to make known which has caused his relations with demons that know him to boil to a mutual hatred. Many demons that meet him are given a harsh welcome, which can be attributed to his belief that demons are the most dangerous to his existence, he believes humans to be mainly harmless and naive which is why he spends most of his time around them

I have made sure not all demons know to hate him until meeting him and have given a more logical reason for his own hatred.

These shadows are visions meant to scare people, the only way to esape these visions are to exit the shadows or to withstand them and remain confident they are not real. Humans seemed like the weakest minded so they would be the most vulnerable. I overlooked Fish Skan but they seem like they would be similarly effected. While I felt like Elks would be more brave than the average human, I am sure they would also fall victim just the same, depending on their overall understanding of dark magic (I doubt it would do much damage to the Dark Lord.) Demons come off as extremely hard to scare and would have the greatest understanding of the shadows, this applies to most other half-dead as well due to their age. While I don’t fully understand Flashnu, I’m assuming that a an older Flashnu would be strong of will and mind and would not fall prey to such illusions.

I was mainly trying to find a good reason to justify Lynx’s disliking of most demons. I’m guessing demons could share a mutual hatred of each other due to Lynx’s initial hatred which seems unwarranted and for not much reason. He mainly finds demons and their personalities insufferable and just doesn’t like them, which is a fact he makes known.

Also I updated my original sign-up.

I did have a long post explaining my character more but my phone refreshed so fuck it.

I can change the age to 288 and fix plot holes in the bio.

Lynx can not control anyone in any shape or form. Lynx’s shadows are a form of illusionary magic and pose no phySical threat. This attack is more like a hallucinogenic trip than anything, if two people
Are affected by the same shadow, they see different things. Whenever someone is separated from a shadow and brought into light, the trip immediately ends but the visions are fresh in their minds.
Anyone can fight through the shadows, they just have to genuinely believe that the shadows cannot hurt them, which is a much harder task than it seems. Most other non-human races are not affected.

About other demons “looking down” on him. A poor choice of words, demons don’t look down as much as they share a mutual hatred. Many demons hate a lot of aspects about lynx, mainly his choice to remain as human as possible and his shunning of much demon-kind, they think his hiding of his demon features and his frequent fornication with human women is a mockery to all demons. They use his odd features against him and slander him as some kind of half-breed because of his small horns. While lynx doesn’t care about the demon’s attacks, it haas lowered his already piss-poor opinion on demons. He frequently shows demons nothing but disrespect and this has made him almost infamous with demons.

Name: “Lynx”

Age: 288 (Died as a human at 20)

Gender: Male

Race: Demon

Appearance: Standing at 6’4 Lynx has a slender, lanky build, which is surprising due to his actual physical strength being quite high. Hi demon appearance is quite unique, in that it is almost indistinguishable from his former human appearance. The only two difference being that he has a slight tint of red eyes, which cannot be noticed by just a glance but a quick study of his features reveals his true identity. He also has a pair of petite horns just under his hairline, small enough to be almost completely concealed by a loose fitting winters hat and he has a gruesome scar across his neck which was the remnants of his fatal wound which mysteriously stuck around in for his second life. He has long, pitch black hair which he keeps slid back under his hat to keep his bang out of his eyes, he has a crooked nose and three of his teeth are missing, he wears a thin black coat which hides the many pairs of knives he keeps concealed, he wears black pants and black shoes designed for being silent.

Faction: The Dark Empire

Class: Rouge

Signature Magic: Lynx’s magic is not as destructive as it is confusing, mainly designed to disrupt foes and aid his thievery.
Mimic: Whenever Lynx makes skin contact with a living human, he can remember their appearance and take on their appearance. This does not physically change anything about Lynx, he still retains his gender and size, any extra size is just an illusion. If he were to take on the appearance of a short woman and someone swung a sword over her head, it would still damage Lynx and more than likely break the illusion. If he were to take the shape of a fatter man, any other weight would not be part of him and it would go right through anything it touches. Armor is just and illusion as well and will offer no protection. Through his illusion, Lynx retains his neck scar and his red eyes so close examination will reveal him. (This is my favourite thing about the character, if you reject him because of this please give me some suggestions on how we could make it work, I am also not against making a new character.)

Malicious Shadows: When in shadows, Lynx can become engulfed in shadows making him extremely hard to spot with human eyes. If another person follows him into the shadows he can bend shadows to his will, shaping them into nightmarish creatures. These shadows are just illusions and cannot physically harm people, although many victims swear to have felt hand at their throat. This illusion is limited to shadows, so if someone were to step out of a shadow the visions would immediately cease. This spell’s effectiveness is dependent mainly on th victim’s fearfulness. It can render human children traumatized for the rest of their lives, but on the other end some demons could easily laugh this attack off.

Biography: Normally an very young orphan in a large city has an extremely difficult life, Lynx was no different. His exception was he learned to steal at a very young age, he started by nicking wallets and food and was an expert by 16. He began doing anything for money as greed consumed him. He began fighting in illegal fighting rings on the outskirts of the city and began quite skilled in hand to hand combat. He began knocking off jewelry stores and other high profit businesses. His greed and hubris grew by the day, but not once had he killed a man, and he took pride in that. It got to the point where he got so cocky he thought he could break into the royal keep itself, and by gods he did, but he did not get very far. Somehow, he ended up in the princess’ bedroom and found himself face-to-face with the Elk princess. She opened her mouth to scream for the guard but he drove a dagger through her throat. She was 11. He was tortured for a week straight, sometimes by the king himself, he still considers it an honour to have royalty break both of his legs.

After his non-stop torture, he was dragged out to the town square for a public execution. But it wasn’t a hanging, it wasn’t a beheading, the king had him dragged out for his legs and arms were crippled. The king grabbed him by the hair and forced lynx’s sobbing, tear ridden face to gaze on his. He gazed into the king’s emotionless eyes as the king personally carved a deep line into his throat. He never forgot the feeling, even after 68 years he never forgot the feeling, all his other pain melted away and was replaced by something far worse than torture. He tried to scream in agony but all he could feel was his blood pouring down his throat. After he was reborn as a demon he vowed revenge, revenge which he could not fulfill. He also found killing came naturally but he is not a sadist, he is just as ruthless as they come, he’ll murder anyone that stands between him and his prize. He now takes jobs from the Dark Lord, for he is a specialist in taking things that cannot be taken.

Other: He does not like demons one bit, a fact which he is not afraid to make known which has caused his relations with demons that know him to boil to a mutual hatred. Many demons that meet him are given a harsh welcome, which can be attributed to his belief that demons are the most dangerous to his existence, he believes humans to be mainly harmless and naive which is why he spends most of his time around them. Lynx has almost no motivation or aspirations, only working for coin but almost exclusively employed by The Dark Empire. He has fallen victim to human vices such as women and ale.

Accepted, but first I need to know is his powers only physical or does he possess magic you haven’t described?

How varied are demons? Could a human demon look enough like a human, with a few articles of clothing to disguise some demon features, be disguised as a human?

This is looking grim. Sypher’s second character is not accepted. Does he actually kill people with his gaze? Does he roar tsunamis? Your description was too book of revelations.

Man, it’s sad to find that so many people I used to play games with has left, while I have kept in contact with two of them it’s sad to know that it’s unlikely I’ll never talk to some of the regulars that made me come back to this site for well over a year.

I can accept it, I guess, but he would be extraordinarily underpowered considering he’d be puntable from every other character. You could make the species 4-5 feet if you’d like.

Sorry, I guess I accidentally missed your post. You can have two characters, but I would like for you to create a second only if you’re sure you can handle the load of two characters. Also, no more than two.

I do like and agree with the species of Elves you have laid out, only change I’ll make is that Blood Elves are rarer than all the other species, owning but a handful of towns and being too separated to do any drastic damage. Other than that all’s good.

[BC: I’m guessing you mean you want to create many variants of the elf species. You can write as much things as you like, and if you’d like to put it all in one player sheet you can, as long as it doesn’t take me 3 days to read.]

[Feline: You can make it whatever, I was just saying how a 5ft woman who can turn into a werewolf once a month might be a bit underpowered. Also, your mission for going to the mainland doesn’t have to make much sense, just find a way there.]

[Feline: Believe me, the longer the better. Your sign is perfect, but if you’d like he change to a werewolf whenever (to an extent) you can, full moons can be kind of lame. Also, on those islands I’d recommend finding a reason to go to the mainland, as that’s where most of the action would lie.]

[Sypher: You’re character seems to secretive and distanced from humanity on top of seeming too powerful. You’l’ have to either elaborate or create a new character.]

[Zero: I feel Titans would put every other character at a huge disadvantage, the most I would allow is a 15-foot giant, but I still wouldn’t recommend him as you’d be distanced from most of the game.]

Name: Rhye
Race: Human
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Description: Standing at 6’3 with a muscular frame but a very feminine face, she has very long crimson red hair as is the custom for her tribe, she has icy blue eyes. She wears a heavy black wolf-skin coat and has many axes hung off her belt.
Personality: Confrontational and profane, she is very close to her twin brother, Rurik, whom she occasionally unfairly blames for her cruel and impatient behavior. She is quick to pass judgement
Location: Karpathia and can be down-right sociopathic when it comes to people who aren’t native to Karpathia. When it comes to her tribe, she is a born leader, caring and generous but stern and ruthless when the need arises.

Name: Rurik
Race: Human
Age: 25
Description: Standing at an intimidating 6’6 with the same crimson hair as Rhye, he looks much more rugged with his left eye blackened and almost sealed shut, multiple scars on his face. He has the same icy blue eyes as Rhye and a black beard that looks somewhat humorous with his hair. Wears near the same heavy outfit as Rhye.
Personality: Despite his appearance, Rurik can be actually fun-loving and jovial but prone to snapping in a second. Does not share the same hatred of southlanders as Rhye does and many times acts as an ambassador to them. A profane, alcoholic womanizer and much less honour-bound than Rhea, some of the elders view him as a disappointment, but he genuinely has no cares.
Location: Karpathia

Inhabitants

Humans

Karpathians

A hearty race of humans, blessed by the Goddess Eula they are larger and more muscular than most other humans. All Karpathians pray to Eula and they are very religious which is over looked considering they follow Eula’s only two commandments: Love me and they gifts I give you and Never kill one of my Children without good cause. They can be very warlike and are indiscriminate of their warriors, giving women the same rank and opportunity men have. They possess many domesticated wolves and wild wolves in the north are very, very rare. They use these wolves as pets or hunters and even give them proper burials on death. Few tribes own Karpathian Dire Wolves, which Rhye’s tribe has used to tame the wilder tribes around the north, these wolves are on of the largest land predators on the planet and they have long been domesticated and used as steeds. There is a large castle near the south where Rhye’s tribe resides, it has never once been occupied by non-Karapathians.

Elves
Elves, as a species, are a humanoid race with slender builds, slightly elongated eye sockets, and elongated ears; they also possess very long lifespans, relatively low breeding rates, and generally more athletic ability than the typical human, though not quite as much raw strength or stamina when averages are compared. Even so, they generally consider themselves to be superior to most other intelligent species, not only due to physical advantages, but due to mental advantages as well (though how far the latter extends relative to other “smart” races like humans is questionable at best). Due to this, elves as a whole have a tendency to look down on other species, and on average the species tends to hold more outright xenophobic members than most other species. Elves can be divided into a number of distinct races, similar to humans, though less diverse due to the aforementioned xenophobic tendencies partially extending to taboos on interracial reproduction. These races, some people have put forward, exist on a general scale of more altruistic to less altruistic, and for ease of discussion, they will be discussed in the order of most to least altruistic on the most commonly cited scale, this being the Alexson-Lithrail scale.

High Elves
High elves are, for want of a better term, the “nicest” elves one might be inclined to meet. Typically far less xenophobic than other forms of elf, the race is identifiable by the pale colours of hair and eye, as well as slightly elongated ears in comparison to other forms of elf, and possess what most elves agree to be the society that has best adjusted to outside contact (by both desire and necessity). Even so, or perhaps due to this, they are relatively pompous compared to other elvish races, frequently citing their relatively higher friendliness towards outsiders as yet another reason why their species is better than your species, rationally or otherwise. In any case, their people are often the most likely to produce half-elven children for the above reasons, and they tend to hold one of the highest technology levels of the species as a whole, if only by a small margin.

Wood Elves
Wood elves are, naturally, a form of elf that is often found living in woodland or forested areas. They usually have hair and eye colours that apparently draw from natural sources as inspiration, and their skin is almost always tanned to some extent. As might be expected of them, they are all rather fond of nature in general; however, this does not mean that they are not just as technologically advanced as any other form of elf, something that wayward travellers who spy a wandering group of wood elves often assume out of ignorance rather than malice. Also often wrongly assumed of them is that they completely abhor anyone who would cut down their “precious trees” or hunt animals at all; on the contrary, they understand that wood and meat as resources are practically necessary for any race’s survival, granted that said usage is sustainable. Rather, their wrath extends to nature as a whole, if one assumes that the one invoking said wrath is engaging in what they see as a defilement of said nature, for instance replacing forests with farmlands that then become drained of nutrients, and subsequently disallow the regrowth of trees in that area. Those who invite such fury are often left surprised at the unnatural agility that any given wood elf gains from their habitat; invariably, it is the last thing that ever surprises them.

Far Elves
Far Elves are strange, even by elvish standards. Claiming fae ancestry (something that, on account of how most fae reproduce, many believe to be a far-fetched claim, hence the name “far”), the typical far elf may possess hair and eyes of practically any colour, ranging from the normal, e.g. dark brown, to the ridiculously esoteric, e.g. literally fluorescent pink. In addition to this is the fact that their eyes are often much larger, vertically speaking, than that of any other race of elf. Furthermore, far elves are on average both more intelligent and more creative than other types of elf by significant margins, leading to their technology and culture being drastically more advanced in most areas than the other elvish races. Despite this, they still manage to look down on other races (usually by citing their ancestral bonds), though not to as great an extent as they might otherwise had done had their culture not been so creatively-minded.

Deep Elves
Deep elves have a tendency to be looked down upon by many other races of elf – with their relatively shorter statures and higher muscle mass than other elves, alongside generally dark hair, bright eye, and pale skin colouration, it is generally believed that they possess dwarvish ancestry, something other elvish races consider to be universally abhorrent. As a matter of course, deep elves themselves regularly get into fights with dwarves; however, this is not so much an issue of race as it is an issue of who was mining where first. As a race primarily composed of manual labourers, it is natural that deep elves would move towards mining as a primary discipline, and develop from there to possess both night vision and skin that is easily visible in the dark; however, many of their kind also head into other similar professions, including farming and jobs involving heavy lifting. Interestingly enough, they have also made leaps and bounds in the field of automated entities, and can often be seen working alongside the latest design of golem or other constructs that they’ve developed.

Grey Elves
Some claim that grey elves are the result of prolonged interbreeding between high and dark elves. Others claim that they sacrificed their souls to a powerful demon in exchange for immortality. Others still say these claims are total lies, and whoever is spreading them should keep their damn traps shut. Regardless, grey elves exist, and as per their namesake, both their hair and eyes are generally monochrome grey in colour; additionally, their skin starts off incredibly pale, but as a given grey elf ages, the skin also turns to grey, something that, surprisingly enough, is considered attractive by other grey elves on account of it being a sign of longevity and, in some circumstances, great cunning. This, the prolonging of lifespan, is important to grey elves – most of their culture is based around it, and there is very little that a grey elf won’t do to themselves if they think it will bring them a few more years, or decades, or centuries… apparently, this reckless attitude has paid off, since grey elves possess incredible longevity even by the standards of other elves: where they might live for one or two millenia, a cautious grey elf may live to well over 5000 years of age, even disregarding the unscrupulousness that can allow them to add yet more time to this value.

Dark Elves
Dark elves, as a given, are terrifyingly xenophobic, especially by elven standards. Due to both cultural and genetic influence, dark elves almost always exist in societies that are secreted away from those of other species, these oftentimes being located underground in massive cavern-cities lit by shafts leading to the ground above, with the light being refracted by suspended crystals to light the cities appropriately. Dark elves themselves are almost always dark-skinned, with white hair and, more often than not, eyes of a ruby red colour. To note, dark elven societies are absurdly war-like – if a given dark elf is seen as being weak, they tend to be viciously and publicly slaughtered by the offended party to prove the point that weakness is not tolerated by their race. To this end, the battle technologies of the dark elves have advanced quite drastically, including both overt weaponry such as blades and spells, and covert technologies such as stealth-enhancing devices and spying equipment.

Blood Elves
Blood elves claim to be the cousins of high elves; if this is true, though, it can only be through some depraved twist of fate. Blood elves tend to possess pale skin and hair, like high elves, but their eyes are usually green or crimson in colouration; any further resemblance is all but vestigial, since the two societies could not be more different – where high elves take concern in each others’ affairs if necessary, and are at least congenial towards outsiders, the typical blood elf is rampantly narcissistic and sociopathic, and they will frequently sacrifice anyone travelling too close to a city or town of theirs, or even other blood elves living in the same area, simply to bathe in the fresh blood of the victim. Even dark elves understand the need for order and hierarchy in a society; this is thrown out the window by blood elves, who place personal satisfaction above all else, even if this includes such things as rape, pillage, torture, or other, even more barbaric activities. Surprisingly enough, they do hold a degree of skill in the manufacture of chemicals, though in all but the most extreme cases, this is nearly always the development of toxins designed to inflict maximum pain over the maximum time period.

WereWolves

Tributican Wolves:

Karpathian Wolves: Larger and more unstable than most other Werewolves, these beasts reside only in the north and are very rarely seen south of the border. Little is known but when the Werewolves were exiled the north took them in, mainly out of spite for the southlanders. They have little to no control over their powers and become absolute terrors on the battlefield.

Karpathia: The largest piece of land in the continent, it covers all the north and is blanketed by an eternal layer of snow. The goddess Eula lays clim to this land and all it’s inhabitants gaining the reputation as “Goddess of the North” for her constant meddling in mortal business. She is seen as benevolent to her followers but as brutal and savage as a Karpathin berserker to those that intrude on her lands. The inhabitants devote their lives to their goddess and their land, born hunters and warriors they are very proud and have a disdain for anyone in the south. Their history is rich and chronicled by the hundreds of tribes littered across the lands. Most tribes possess domesticated wolves, the only in the continent and even fewer possess mountable dire wolves used as battle steeds.
