Topic: Off-topic / Ultimate College Connection Thread

don’t know if this is creepy or not, but i often wonder if other people at my University are on here as much as I am, maybe i’d like to meet them or what not. get some friends in RL maybe.

so maybe, i was thinking, other people were thinking the same thing, so here is my solution to it. an ultimate thread for college connections.
but yeah, put down your University name, and if you see someone else, try to start talking to them on here or something.

i go to IUP, if you don’t know what that is, you obviously don’t go there. you go there, talk to me if you wish.

Edit: no being stupid. keep it srs

frankly i think that anti-idle: the game should get badges. it’s actually interesting, an original idea. simple so anyone can play.

Easy: throw your person for 300 pixels
Medium: harvest a tree
Medium: defeat 100 people in the arena
Hard: earn 1,000,000 gold (an endurance for sure)

images
Easy: just the person, the stick figure
Medium: obviously one of the trees
Medium: the person you go against in the arena, with the blue stache
Hard: the gold symbol they use

and your sarcasm is unnecessary.

How convenient that the definition you give specifically excludes all first world governments. No bias there right? This is just using semantics to demonize specific groups and exempt others.

Let’s avoid biased political sources for political terminology. According to the dictionary, terrorism is – “the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes.” That is what we did. Thus we are terrorists.

Now sure, you can point out the obvious “but Saint, everyone and their mother does that.” You would be right, and now you understand that the war on terrorism is just an excuse to pick on however we decide to single out and call terrorists.

it leaves out all governments, not just first world.
and the CIA is not a political source, it’s an organization that deals with this, so shall we use a dictionary, or someone that studies this and deals with it on a daily basis?
let me put it this way, take a 101 course on World Politics, and that is the definition you will learn, not the incomplete, base one you find in dictionaries.

I see the problem. Our Iraq invasion plan may not have looked calculated, but don’t worry, our carpet bombing was.

Well look at Iraq. We invaded on false pretenses, refused to leave once exposed, and continued to brow beat countries that refused to be involved. That to me sounds like terrorism aimed at the entire world. However I don’t think the elements are in place to change that mindset, so I don’t expect it to change. We’ll just keep making enemies until it dooms us.

you may want to check on what terrorism is before you call something it.

Topic: Kongregate / impossible badge name change

should impossible badges be renamed?
i mean, we all know they are possible, so impossible is a misnomer. while we all don’t have them all, we all know that they can be done. a number of people have them, legitimately. so why make is such a downer saying “hah, this badges is never gonna be awarded to you, so don’t even try” instead of, “this badges is very hard, you are gonna have to be a good gamer to get this.” i mean psychologically it’s more prudent to say the second one. doesn’t make the gamer feel as down.
i was thinking like “extreme” badges instead of “impossible”

So I’ll go on record as saying that this is probably the worst idea for a badge I’ve ever had. While I respect what the game does, it really does not fit in with our achievement philosophy of trying to be accessible.

I apologize to those who already put forth the effort into completing all 25 puzzles, but in the interest of trying to make this badge more accommodating, it has been changed to a medium badge that only requires any 10 puzzles. If you already earned it as a hard badge, you’ll still have it, plus some extra points.

Now let us never speak of this again.

thank you, i hate this game it’s not worth badges period.

why is affirmative action a good thing?

i understand that minorities often have shitty conditions growing up that can mess up oportunities.

but why not make the shitty conditions the prerequisite for the benefits, rather than [insert race or whatever]?

i mean, if you grow up in a trailer park, chances are you’re at a disadvantage too.

it’s good because it makes it very hard to get away with racial discrimination against minorities, now against the majority…..

Topic: Serious Discussion / The White Plurality

most of the money we make is due to our parents being well known and us benefiting from that, so that is sort of what we see. really with Affirmative Action and other anti-racist laws out there, the playing field is getting more and more even with each generation. but would whites be entitled to said benefits because they are no longer the majority?

Topic: Serious Discussion / The White Plurality

Plurality is when one group in voting, or in racial make up of a country is the largest, but not over 50%. It is something that the white community is closing in on in the US. That got me thinking after seeing the forum about the CNN special on “Black in America” and “Latino in America” and if there would be a “White in America” special. This is basically inevitable, barring anything extreme happening, so what will happen to the White Community, will they gain the “bonuses” gained by being a minority or no? Then to take it a step farther, what happens when the Latinos over take Whites as the plurality? are we gonna take away the privileges they gain from being constituted a minority?
I’m not too knowledgeable on what all benefits minorities get, but i’m pretty sure they get tax incentives for owning companies and such, and they also have minority specific scholarships and groups that whites can’t have because it would be considered “racist,” does anyone have more knowledge they would like to impart to make this a more knowledgeable discussion.

let me rephrase, i missed a few words here, it has no non-secular purpose. it isn’t saying you have to believe in God. hence, it’s constitutional.

I’m not saying that homosexuality is wrong, but the government isn’t letting them marry so maybe there’s some validity to the position. Same principle.

i fail at engllish, hence my choice of Political Science as my major.
