Thank you so much for doing all of that debugging!

You were right, after quite a bit of digging (the db isn’t set up to easily find such specific data) I was able to find a rogue value for that puzzle’s score (absolutely no idea how that happened). Hopefully that will be the end of that. :)

@RedWolfe29 Thanks, seems we missed that one. :)

@bisphenol Sadly a video wouldn’t help much, but if you have the chance to log into the game from another computer please check if the puzzle appears as solved – if it does then it would confirm it’s a local save data issue.

Regarding the save file, it stores mostly settings and acts as a cache of sorts so that the game works (more or less) even with a very spotty internet connection. As far as Picma is concerned deleting the save file would have zero consequences (other than probably solving the issue you’re having).

However, due to the way the Flash Player saves cookies, the data is connected to the domain where the game is played from and shared among other games/apps in the same domain – meaning that deleting data of just this game involves tracking down a couple of files in your hard drive.

Assuming you’re on Windows, navigate into a folder that generally looks like: C:\Users\YourWindowsUsername\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\

Inside you’ll find a folder with a random name, and inside it there will be a folder named “chat.kongregate.com”. Simply delete any files that contain “picma3” in the name and your save data will be erased.

DISCLAIMER: I take no responsibility if your computer suddenly catches fire or begins an AI uprising due to these actions. ;)

Sorry, we haven’t been able to replicate that bug on our side.

We assume there’s some sort of weird corruption going on with your particular save file. The puzzle should be completed on the server side, so any achievements should still work even if the puzzle doesn’t appear as completed.

@Tofik__PL We’re sorry for that. We’ll make sure it won’t happen in the next version we release.

@Lolzorz We don’t plan on adding random puzzles as half the fun is discovering the image. However we do understand the why of your suggestion (and fully agree that it’s a problem) therefore we’re working on trying to automatically assign difficulties to puzzles separately from their sizes – we won’t be able to release a new version any time soon, but when we do we hope to have that feature in!

Nothing on our end, we haven’t made any recent changes to the build available on Kongregate.

Are you using the same computer/browser as before?

It was a bit of a server hicup (that we couldn’t fix directly). Everything should be working now!

We’re happy that you’re happy but we didn’t make any recent changes. Kongregate probably tweaked “Cinematic mode” to take up a bigger portion of the screen. :)

We’ll look into the score issue, it should only be storing the best one.

Thanks!

@Rawing Strange, that shouldn’t happen. We’ll try to find out what’s going on there.

@janusstefan We believe a few puzzles are getting corrupted in the load process, we should be able to fix it but we need to write a tool that will check the entire database.

@bisphenol At the time it was reported we were unable to replicate the issue and thus unable to fix it. We’ll try looking into it again asap.

Thanks guys. :)

We have both features on our list (although the next update won’t be out any time soon).

Topic: Picma - Picture Enigmas / You have 0 puzzles in moderation

If you go to the Authors list your name will be at the top, you can click it to see a list of accepted puzzles and “in moderation” images. Any images that you created but that do not appear in the list have sadly been rejected. I should note however that “rejected” images are sometimes brought back from that pile and turned into puzzles when we feel the community has been a bit too harsh in judging them (which happens more often with smaller puzzles).

One of the features on the table for the next version (although it will take quite a while to come out) is to have a “favourites” system which among other things would allow you to “fave” a puzzle instead of simply voting Yes. Favourites would appear in a customized list where you could easily find and play those new puzzles.

Topic: Picma - Picture Enigmas / Validation Hints?

It’s something that we hope to improve upon in a next version but we’re still a bit unsure on how to explain it properly.

The plan is to give some visual feedback on “problem areas” and possibly create a video with some tips (as a good deal of it is a matter of experience).

The two biggest factors are keeping a fair amount of empty squares (so that the puzzle is hard enough) and avoiding sections that are diagonal mirrors of each other – that tends to create situations were it’s impossible to generate a set of hints with a single solution.

Thanks for the feedback and bug reports! We’ll add them to our list.

We would have loved to have been able to add Kongregate accounts to our website (along with Google, Twitter and Facebook) but it’s simply not possible (neither is signing in with other systems within Kongregate).

The fullscreen issue would have been possible to “fix” if it had been caught before the release. Afterwards there was sadly nothing to be done.

Strange. We’ll look into it.

If within a few days the problem still persists please send a bug report with extra details like your os/browser.

@Djiepers That information helps. We’ll see if we can make sure it retrieves the cloud saves properly when the local data is completely reset.

@Altheos_Aaron It’s already on our “maybe” pile but we haven’t figured out a good way to do it from a UI standpoint. We’ll revisit the idea when possible.

Strange, it should still appear due to the cloud save feature. We’ll look into it.

It’s been a “bit” slower than usual. We’re trying to get it normalized asap.

That’s odd. It almost sounds like a server connection issue (which would be temporary) but a few details don’t add up.

We’ll look into it. Please send a direct bug report (link beneath the game) if anything different pops up (or if the issue resolves itself in time).

We’ll consider adding that as an Option. The current default behaviour is meant to enhance contrast, allowing players with colour blindness or poor vision to play more easily.

Permanent subscriptions are fairly “messy” from a legal standpoint. We do however offer longer subscriptions on our website.

We have a “stats, stats everywhere” update planned (a bit further along the road though), we’ll certainly look into Kong High Scores when we get there.
