Please remove me from these utterly banal split-tests.

I do not care about whatever fancy shit you add to this website. I play games flash games as a free, easy means of distracting myself from the crushing meaninglessness of existence that consumes my waking life. Whether or not the website that I click on to do this contains 1 or 3 icons in the top right or has fancy mouse-over hover capabilities is entirely immaterial to me.

I suppose my point, essentially, is that you will gain no useful data from my behaviour. I would be obliged if you were to consider my profile as effectively non-existent.

Haha, that’s why I had put it in single quotes, depends on the perspective of course. =) But that’s the excuse of almost every game made and marketed. Usually for these Kongregate promo events, at least whenever I catch them, they’re good about having a female or gender neutral option.

Just gotta love being ignored because people still believe us female gamers/sci-fi fans don’t exist.

The (marginal) irony in all the above is that the original Alien films broke convention by featuring a strong female protagonist. It’s funny how all the game tie-ins (as far as I’m aware?) have ignored this and reverted entirely to stereotype.

On the other hand, would you have really considered changing your avatar if there had been a non-male option?

Funny how I always seem to wind up on the new-feature side of these split tests despite none of the features offering me any benefit. There are already too many games that do not scale down and are too big for my monitor (i.e. Anti-Idle: The Game or Legend of Pandora, both of which are too tall to be conveniently playable on my laptop’s 1280×800) as it is.

Edit: and no, those two at least don’t scale down in Cinematic Mode.

This calculation is actually pretty inaccurate due to lazily using the fansite’s rounded values. It’s more like 1 in 259,095, but eh.

For what it’s worth, I have had something even more statistically ridiculous happen to me.

I have bought ~44 Enclave packs, and have received zero Mirror Walls. (The only reason I noticed this was having discovered they could be useful on Copycat tiles.)

By my calculation, that’s roughly a 1 in 1,800,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 chance. I looked up the name for that number of zeros: 1.8 undecillion.

That is the chance of getting no shards 9 days in a row. The chance of getting some shards on one day (regardless of which day) and no shards the other 9 days is (if my god-awful drunken memory serves me):

(10C1 = 10) * (0.875 * (0.125^9)) = 0.000000065 = 1 in 15.4 million, quite a big difference.

I agree with this, but also feel like Tribute ought to be a 100% skill as well. These are the two skills that come to mind as being essentially useless (and thus basically ignored, treated as ‘bonuses’ for whatever other purpose a card plays) at the moment due to their unreliability: they’re unlikely enough in general to have their trigger requirements met that the 50% proc chance results in a skill slot being wasted.

My shitty two cents: I am probably going to blow most of my EPs on Azure Reapers, since I only own 4 of them, thus saving myself a ton of gold. Maybe something ridiculous like 16 of the things, since everything else is useless.

I have tried a couple of times to clear the entirety of my activity feed, removing all the things that were posted prior to my changing my settings to stop them being posted at all. (Essentially returning to the pre-useless-badge-spam “wall” functionality.)

However, when I remove an item, it seems to reappear after some period of time. I’m not completely sure how long this period is; it’s not immediate, and refreshing the browser doesn’t seem to do it. Perhaps it’s a cookie thing, or otherwise something at kong’s end? I only tend to notice they’ve reappeared when I check my profile, and honestly I don’t do this very often – perhaps once every 3 or 4 weeks – but every time I do, they’re back.
