Topic: Wartune / EST Server Guilds

I’m going to transfer to the EST server which will be my main account since I’m from the East Coast. I’m not sure if I will quit the PST server or make a guild on EST server. I’m open to anything though. See you there. :)

Topic: Hero Zero / Team Bloodforge Zombies Seeking Potential Members

Hi guys, Bendo here. Leader of Bloodforge Zombies, a top 20 team. We are currently scouting for additional members to our esteemed team.

Benefits of membership:
- 54% Expansion
- Helpful and Social Peers
- Significant Loot From Team Wars (we only fight within the Top 30)
- Honest, Direct, and Fair Leadership
- The Sense of Being a Part of a Great Team

We are currently maxed at the moment but if you are willing to PARTIALLY fund quarter expansion with donuts and basically pay for your spot then reach out to me (ign: Bendo) OR my advisor, Capernicus in the game. Doing so will save you from having to compete with our applicants and provide you with our already robust expansion boosts SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.

I can assure you that once you donate the donuts you will NOT be kicked soon after. My team is NOT in the business of scamming. We retain a certain level of respect and honesty which are qualities we have fostered and upheld since the inception of the team. There is a “terms of banishment” in our team description that adequately and fairly handles the necessity of kicking certain members. You can also refer to our team thread in the Hero Zero website. Thanks.

No more updates for this game. The developers have most likely abandoned this game and ran off with their earnings.

Topic: Hero Zero / Suggestion

It would screw with the balance of the game because high level players will just give their items to low levels making them overpowered in their current level. But yeah if they find a way to fix this then donating items sounds cool.

Yeah the first few contenders are easy. Once you get to around 14 or 15 up is where their stats hit a major spike and most people spend a lot of time in.

There’s PVP. Spent 80% of my time in this game there. :/

Topic: Sands of the Coliseum / Finally Beat All 20 Contenders.

Ok I just beat it today and it honestly wasn’t that hard or require any special preparation as far as my stat allocation, team set-up, or equips. I just used my PVP team which is pretty strong in its own right. 1-12 was a breeze with my lvl 40-something team of shield and thrower team with just about equal stat distribution into str, dex, def, and spd. My armor was decent but this was before I took the time to actively look for armor with amazing stat buffs. 13-15 was a tougher and I had to level up my current team several levels to beat it. At 16 my team couldn’t cut it anymore at which point I spent a lot of time in PVP. During that time I learned a lot about team set-ups and stat buffing armor and whatnot and I slowly tried to build a better team with a lot of trial and error. I also beat 16-18 at this point with my lvl 50-something team of thrower and shield with moral-restoring skills, dual with 4-combo, and tanker with protect. Dual had fastest speed at 300+ with support second with 200+ spd. My tank had 250+ armor and 100+ spd. I eventually leveled them up more with my Dual reaching lvl 60 and the other two 57 and 58. I just kept rolling the dice with a beatable contender and where at least 2 of my gladiators could attack first. I found 2 two-handers and a shield and spear guy with average spd were the easiest to beat. Eventually I beat contender 20 with nothing but a shitty halberd with mediocre stat buffs to show for it. :/

It’s worth noting that I rarely used any support skills aside from moral regens and protect. The opponent has so much power that it can kill my gladiators easily with normal attacks anyway and it rarely used protect so intimidation was virtually useless. I suppose having net would have been useful but all moral was still good. Besides I did not want to respec my support again. Basically I incapacitated the glad with the weakest armor using 4 combo and followed it up with throw from my support. My tank usually had the last turn so the opponent usually killed my dual at this point so he would just protect my thrower. If at the event that the AI was acting retarded and spamming berserk or couldn’t bleed my dual then I pretty much won. I would cast protect on my dual and my support and thrower would finish off the rest. At this point the AI would keep attacking only my tank and its dex wasn’t enough to kill it in time before I finished off the remaining glads.

Topic: Sands of the Coliseum / My resume on the game.

1) I agree, the PVE gets stale very quickly. I spent pretty much 80% of my time playing this game in PVP.
2) Yeah, I think better drops and shop items would be great simply because the blacksmith is very unreliable. I want armor comparable to blacksmith crafts available through some other way. I would also like to add that maybe the devs could make it so that getting decent armor from blacksmith is more common. It was very disappointing for me to get the last rank (which took a long time) and exchange 20+ metals, 7 of which were gold, and receive only one decent shield.
3) A common complaint. Be great if they fixed it but it’s minor so I don’t really care much.
4) I agree, there should be some other way to earn metal like conquering a coliseum.
5) Yeah PVP needs streamlining and more features. A team-up with another player is a good idea though. Maybe if the devs improve PVP more people will play it because right now opponents are incredibly sparse.
6) For sure.

I should have been more clear. I was under the impression that every item you acquire from highest rank from highest quality metal would be better most of the time than a bronze item from a low ranking. This was not the case. So yes you’re right luck is definitely a factor but using up more than 20 metals and only getting one item slightly better from Conqueror ranking makes that little tidbit from the instructions misleading. It’s my fault for having expectations.

So I just recently reached the last ranking and have a lvl 60 gladiator. I exchanged all 21 of my metals, 7 of which were gold that I was saving from the beginning, and lo and behold I get only one decent item. A shield that is probably 4th or 5th best in my entire inventory. Son, I am disappoint.

This also somewhat debunks the idea that the higher the ranking or level the better the item. I’ve gotten way better stuff from Conqueror and in higher frequency than I did with God of Arena. _________

Topic: Sands of the Coliseum / Post Your PVP Team Set-Ups here!

I haven’t seen a thread where people could share their team set-up’s in the multiplayer so here it is. I’ll start with the standard set-up that I often see in PVP and which I have used myself because it is very reliable in coliseum battles and multiplayer. I’ll be providing details under the gladiator’s nickname so as not to confuse anyone. Also I’ll be using “glad” as an abbreviation for gladiator.

- Speedy -
Your fastest glad that attacks first with a 2-hit combo and hopefully gets the jump on the opponent as the match starts. It uses dual-wield weapons to make use of its first useful skill. It’s main purpose is to set-up kills for your Heavy Hitter or Tank/Blocker. The Speedy and Heavy Hitter working in tandem should effectively take out one glad right off the bat. Most Speedy’s aren’t durable and usually gets taken out first or second. If it’s lucky it can attack a second time and set-up another kill or finish off a damaged glad. It’s weapons of choice is the weakest type in the game so it’s best served as a set-up glad early on. It typically follows the Dimachaerus tree where people choose to get the 4-hit combo which could change the Speedy from a set-up glad to a one-turn killer.

- Heavy Hitter -
The glad that should attack second. It sacrifices speed for raw power and very useful in removing armor from your opponent with its Armor Break move. It follows up the Speedy’s attack with Power hit on the same glad. It’s the least durable of your team because it tends to use a two-handed weapon and arm guards have the weakest armor in the game. As such most people choose to kill this glad first. However, if your Heavy Hitter survives the firs 3 turns it can potentially kill another glad. It follows the Thraex tree that leads up to Berserk.

-Tank/Blocker -
Whatever you call this glad everyone can agree that it should definitely be your most durable glad. This is the glad that is often the only one left standing in a competitive battle between people who know what they’re doing. It’s armor and defense should be buffed and Shield Bash maxed. A well-built tank/blocker should be able to block/dodge most attacks and have decent damage output. In fact, a tank/blocker can take out an entire team with the right stat and skill allocation and equips. This is the reason why people use this glad on 1 on 3 battles. This glad follows the Murmillio tree ending with Regeneration but a lot of people sacrifice maxing one of Murm’s skills for Reti’s Throw skill. Probably the most complex character I’ve had to deal with as far as stat allocation and skills because of it being a versatile defensive glad.

Ok your turn. Be as detailed as you want and offer some tips if you can.

the rewards system is broken. you never really know what the crowd actually wants, since the blood flag is always set. underneath that, there IS a crowd decision, like there used to be before the last update, but you can’t tell what it is.

so, you can’t really focus on building mp by always choosing what the crowd wants, since you can’t tell what the crowd actually wants.

you can see this for yourself if you pay attention:

fight the same fight in an arena a few times, and always choose execute. you will randomly see the mp bonus applied, which means that when it does not, the crowd was really asking for mercy, even though the flag always shows “blood”.

K thx

Originally posted by Ichthyic:

it’s a good question.

I looked at what happens when you buy different low level glads, to see if price/level makes a difference. What I found was that the ONLY thing that carries over when you buy a slave is the mp.

so, say you’re looking at a level 1 slave. you will find a range of them with mps from 40 (like your character starts with) to 110. spending the extra few hundred for a slave with nearly triple the starting mp is way worth it. other than that, i saw no relative difference in available skill points when I bought slaves that were say, level 4 vs level 1 (meaning there were not proportionately more points for the level 4 than the level 1). this makes sense, really. otherwise you would simply keep swapping out your glads as you obtained more cash. they want you to train your glads from the ground up, so the penalize buying new glads by making them cost way more than they’re worth at higher levels.

so, summary: don’t waste your money buying high level glads. instead, if you don’t like your character, either spend the few thousand needed to reset it, or else replace it with a level 1 and train it up again. I no longer even use my main character, because the level 1 slaves you can buy that start with 110 mp are so much better.

now, if the game was currently broken so you could work on maximizing your mp in every combat…

sigh

as it is, probly best just to choose blood every time, at least you won’t outlevel your mp growth.

wat do u mean it’s broken?

Like buy them as asap. Does that give more skill points in the long run? Or when you buy a high level gladiator does the game give the equal amount of skills points as if you trained him yourself?

I looked up the “ruby ring” and yes 30% most likely gives more hp than +130. Percentage is generally better than a set number with buffs anyway.
