That’s correct. What people forget is that while it doesn’t matter to developers, it matters for consumers. People are effectively gaining a product for free while others pay for it. For me to have an equal income available for spending as those who get it for free, I would have to get it for free as well. As many things “required” in life (preparing a standard talk when having a job interview, for example), it becomes required to pirate games so that your available income doesn’t relatively get reduced opposed to other consumers of the same level.

Sorry, there’s no thread about piracy active in serious discussion, so I have to leave this thoughts over here. Thought you didn’t mind.

There is one thing you gain if you buy your games instead of pirating them. You get to claim the moral highroad and act smug about it towards your friends who do pirate their games. It is worth something.

@ OP. I would suggest diamonds, gold or art. If possible, art with gold and diamonds in it.

I don’t tend to run into the screaming, shouting and generally immature asshole that often. I might be playing the “wrong” online games though. Anyway, I usually tend to be generally nice to my opponents/teammates as long as they do the same.

I do use every cheap trick, overpowered weapon and noobish strategy I can find though. They are part of the game, and if you dislike them, you either leave or find a way to counter them.
