Jason, I can only speak for myself but I have spend very little in this game. 9 out of my 14 cards are unlocks and the rest were lucky finds. I am actually forced to use purple, as I could not possibly manage to build a decent deck with any other colour :-/

I can assure you there is no purposeful ‘abusing’ from us. Nik gave us a second chance and someone fought his swarm again, so he left for a second time. Still hoping he will give us a third chance. Not sure if he is around here on Kong to confirm this.

I do agree though that if this bug can be abused, it should be top priority for Edgebee to fix it.

Levo, if you are taking about us ‘abusing’. Nik decided to leave of his own free will to stop others fighting his swarm.

Another problem with the current AA system is the way that it rounds results. There should be one decimal place to the result percentages. Draws have been counted even although technically one player has almost 1% more. Winning 10 games out of 11 vs winning 9 games out of 10 counts as a draw (both 90%) but the first result is very close to 91%

Yeah, I have been watching the evolution of the new AA style and just had another play with it.

I don’t fully understand it, hard in the super sped up test world, but as far as I an see it is based more on attack vs defense rather than keep fighting the same player over and over style we have now.

It will definitely be interesting to see it in a full 24 hour, more than one player participating version. I am sure it will make more sense to me then :-D

As a member of Roadhouse, I would just like to point out that we are not full and never have been. We have a daily participation level of between 6 – 9 players.

Secondly, we are a much younger alliance than the rest of you guys and have not had the extra months of farming for rating that the rest of the top 10 have. We are a long way from the magic 500 rating that we are striving for. If we were to prematurely participate in this ‘fight the top 10 only’ idea we would be giving up our goal and the chance of getting to a 500 rating.

I am not trying to shoot holes in the idea and I know that farming lower alliances is quite boring, I am just trying to give the perspective of an alliance that still has goals to reach in the game. Goals that most of you guys have already reached or are close to reaching through your extra months of farming.

Topic: Card Monsters / Reasons to Buff MC

During testing we got to see the order that the updates were applied to the game. Level 4/5 and crystal costs came first and then the 35% HP update.

On the surface this may not seem like an important difference but there are stealth (free) buffs that come along with this, especially when looking at Shield and Wall.

Only looking at level 5 Epics and taking average damage values, a built in 20 shield gets no free extra buff, but 30 shield gets an extra stealth buff for the card once the 35% HP increase is applied. Basically it allows the card to survive one extra (average) hit from another level 5 Epic than it did before the HP increase was added.

Don’t misunderstand me and think extra HP automatically means more hits, I am talking about the stealth buff involved with it, not the actual transparent buff.

It might have nothing to do with the discussion at hand, but I believe the stealth buff might be the reason that RD suddenly seems to outperform MC.

Jason’s point is valid. Most of the reasons given for buffing MC could be applied to almost every other epic in the game.

After reading the original post many times, and if everything is correct, then the only conclusion I can come to is that RD must be OP.

I am, by the way, not bias either way. I don’t run a Red or a Blue deck.

I suggested a long time ago on the Edgebee forums that doubling all crystal costs would give them access to half values to help balance cards. 10x would fine tune it even more although, as others have stated, complicate things.

Another, more recent, balance issue is with the 35% HP increase. Some cards gain from this and some lose out on it. Look at the Blogdyte/Acolyte issue. Blogdyte’s level 5 HP is correct but Acolyte just misses out on having 60HP at level 5

To fully balance things now, it is not just crystal values that need to be looked at but ALL values. Again, doubling these values (HP, Melee, Range, Chance, etc, etc) would give access to half values for everything.

Topic: Card Monsters / Card Balancing Issues

As someone lucky enough to have been involved with the testing, I can assure you that all cards were heavily scrutinized. Some of the original level 5 card stats were proven (almost infinite tokens) to be either over/under powered and changes were made.

As far as I know and without mentioning anything in particular (I don’t know if I am allowed), there are still a lot of unfinalized discussions about certain cards and certain abilities. So there could be changes still to come.

Topic: Card Monsters / 10/24 update-tutorial deck streamline

I wouldn’t worry as long as there is no interaction between accounts.

There are 3 accounts linked to me. One my original AG account (which I use), One which I think got created when clicking the ‘Card Monsters’ here on Kong trying to get to the main forum page but opened the CM game and my Edgebee account which I opened for the forums there ( I play S&P on that account).

I hope I am breaking no rules with this, but only 1 account plays CM.

Nobody is ever actually going to use ‘Common’ over ‘Epic’ but the end result is the same. Even an expensive armor like ‘Adamantium Plt’ is destroyed in 1 hit against strong melee.

In some battles front line has become pawns, and armor is for protection against ranged, except mighty-80 strips it away with ease.

You can’t deny that gnostic85 has hit the nail on the head with this, unless ‘Levels 4 and 5 to every card’ includes equipment.

I agree with gnostic85 in regards to equipment.

Even currently, when facing some of the new cheap heavy hitters, there is no difference between an Epic ‘Protector’ and a Common ‘Metal Cap’. It effectively lets you survive 1 hit. In fact ‘Metal Cap’ is better because it is cheaper.

Will Crystal cost (in game playing cost) of all current cards be lowered to compensate for higher evolutions that are still playable or will we be seeing more 6, 7 or 8 costs cards?

…or will we be seeing more Crystals per turn? :-D

Re-reading both emails received. It looks like 2 of Roadhouse’s members saw the assault against you. One fought 20 times and won 20, one fought 2 times and won 1. This is where the 21 wins come from.

The rest of the alliance saw the other assault.

It seems clear that 2 fights were started, either one from us and one from an opponent or 2 from opponents.

Edgebee needs to fix this problem, it is costing us rating and ranking. It is not the first time is has happened. Using this ‘loophole’ any team can get into the top 10.

Bloderprotector, What Dave is saying is your fight never showed up for us, we were fighting someone else. So we would have got 0 wins against you because we could not see you. When the email came in it counted the assault against your team instead of the assault we actually fought

This is a major bug!!! For days now we have fought hard and won assaults only to get losses from assaults we never even saw. There is no point even trying while this bug persists.

Unfortunately with probability every sequence will occur if you play for long enough. Look on the bright side, one day your flying monster will avoid damage 12 times in a row :-D

Topic: Card Monsters / A request to Edgbee from us veteran players

I am not ‘elite’, far from it and I understand that any game eventually becomes a grind.

I can only speak on behalf of the members of the alliances I have been a member of (some of them who had better cards than I can only dream of) that have quit the game.

Mostly the reason for quitting is the time ‘investment’ needed to get a card to the current maximum level. It takes about a month for an epic card without spending any tokens.

I understand that Edgebee needs to make money from the game but taking the chance of cards away from players who are not willing to spend hundreds of dollars to get an upgrade is moving very close to Zynga territory.

As for tournaments or any other content, yes please. :-)

Admission requires a suitable deck (Epic’s preferred but a well constructed Rare deck could work).
