Agreed. I had trouble finishing all the maps because after I got to a stage where mass interceptors didn’t work anymore I thought that they had lost their usefulness on harder maps. It turns out that massing interceptors is the key to most of the difficult maps. Those barricades are often part of that key.
I now consider that the most challenging map is the one directly left of the map I had trouble with before; 2nd from the top, third row from the left (Flank, 73, 271). Here you have infestors a long way away and humans in between so you end up vs a continuous line of thousands of infestors. It can be done very slowly with interceptors and supercarriers or quickly with annahilators.

“Try using the Construction bases to retreat, so the two enemies fight each other and never you.
Then blow up your main base….”
Sounds great. Thanks again.
“Well, I only played to the hard badge, but I found that the strategy on any map where you start with >2k cash is to build a big space port and set it to make super carriers. The super carriers will then obliterate everything”
Annoyingly that works on the final map at 200 difficulty.. a lot wrong with this great game. However, if you keep playing you’ll find it doesn’t work on any maps where you get attacked quickly. 2.5k is a different story.. with a few hundred more credits you can keep yourself alive and your laughing with that strat.

Thanks for the tips. Very helpful.
There seems to be a hell of a lot wrong with this great game. Stupid things like no level numbers (also the fact that it’s spam based when it would have made an amazing strategy game).
I’d love to tell you which map I’m having problems with but the best I can do is say: 2nd Row, near middle of row, difficulty 70, reward 262.
I have won this map but I can only win it every 10 tries when I get lucky. Sometimes the purple enemy seems to randomly lose to the weaker white enemy and occasionally, if I’m lucky I can use the contruction cheese because he doesn’t build anything between my base and his. But I don’t think lucking it out counts. Anyone got a strategy that beats this map most of the time? Fighters, feeze ships, miner ships, medium carriers as suggested by FateIsEscaped doesn’t work for me on this map.

Browser games are this good?
Interesting thread. To be honest I didn’t know browser games could look that good either and I play them all the time.
The reason for this is that the ones that look really good, whilst being ‘browser games’, aren’t ‘free browser games’ and are fraustrating to play unless you want to pay for better equipment (I think). That was certainly my experience with Arcuz, and they are not quite good enough to justify spending your money on them.

The "What was that game called?" Thread
In this game you are little white egg, although that wasn’t very relevant to the game.
Black background and the aim is to reach the exit in each screen.
On level 5 or so you collect a crystal which gives you the ability to ‘warp’ or something (actually I think the name the dev gave the ability is also the name of the game). You have to hold ‘A’ and choose the direction with the mouse. This let’s you jump through walls and you shoot off in the direction of the warp.
You have to avoid lasers and heat seaking missiles eventually.
Possibly more helpful is that the dev was also a the maker of a popular suicide game in which an office worker has to kill himself in every level but I can’t remember the name of either game.

Stick War II
Funny, the ‘best’ comment on Stick War at Kongregate “There needs to be a Stick War II” has over 10 thousand ‘likes’ so I thought you’d be interested.

Mardek 3 vs. Epic Battle Fantasy 3
EBF suffers from the typical NPC amnesia. It’s boring saving someone’s grandmother only to see them going back to welcoming you to the village for the rest of eternity.
Mardek has an absolutely perfect AI in that respect with pages and pages of great humour and characters basically realising the things you hope they do and commenting on them.
However, now a couple of years have passed since this thread was started and we know that the Mardek series has basically been cancelled. Tbh the storyline of Mardek 3 was depressing and it hasn’t even been closed off.
So take your pick.

when does 4 out mardek
It seems very strange that the developer spends 200 hours writing dialogue alone (I’m guessing) and then get’s so sick of his series that he shelves it for the next 7 years.
But.. maybe he depressed himself? I’m hoping for some sort of happy ending for Mardek. After 42 hours of gaming I see that Emela isn’t going to tell anyone who she is, Deugan isn’t even going to appear, Mardek will always think he’s dead and Emela and Deugan won’t even get together. The dreamstones are an extra feature just in case you haven’t had your fill of depressing storylines.

Bah, can't beat the bosses
So far I’ve gone up against the water and fire bosses and I can’t take them. Surely I don’t need to grind to level 40? I’m level 28 now.
So I guess i need the right equipment, but I don’t have it. Do you know what it is and where I can but it?

Mardek series
Oh right, I guess if it had it’s own section then it’s a bit much to start a new thread :D Thanks.
I played and loved Epic Battle Fantasy 3. It’s definitely the most similar game I know of. Having said that, it’s playing that that’s showed me just how impressive PsuedoWolf has been with Mardek’s dialogue system.

Mardek series
Admittedly there are dozens of topics about this old game, but they are all old topics since the last instalment was released in 2010.
Does anyone still love this, or has anyone discovered this recently like me? It’s by far the best pixel RPG I’ve every come across.

Rogue Soul
Hi all,
This new game is one of those rare, highly polished and totally free games with no tricks. Check it out if you haven’t already and compliment the developer if you like it:
http://www.kongregate.com/games/SoulGame/rogue-soul
Does anybody know if you can escape the city if you get far enough?

Holier than thou when rating comments?
Hi all,
So this is the most mature gaming site I’ve found and at first I was glad to see that hate comments under the games got rated down by users.
However, now I have started to think it has more to do with people wanting to feel “holier than though”.
Does anyone else think it’s pathetic that any crisicism, no matter how polite or well intended goes below the rating threshold in the comments section?
Cheers,

Where is the list of new games?
Hi,
I’m not sure where to check out new games on Kongregate. I only see ‘top new games’ listed.
Thanks
