+1 here as well. Reinforcements should always be on guard.
Alternativelly, their state should be chosen by their owner, or at least be visible.

Kegs are incoming, man! What are friends for, after all.

I have my main crafter pumping them like there’s no tomorrow, and my goblins toil relentlessly to ensure that you shall surely not lack for kegs in any of your dungeons!

Thank you for resolving this issue.

I’m very happy that this was brought to a successful conclusion, since I really like the game.
Good work, and again thank you for your help.

Topic: Kongregate Multiplayer Games / [Dungeon Overlord] Hey Pellets

I tried the support link on the game page, but that turned out to require a bunch of personal information before it would allow me to post a support ticket. That did it for me, especially considering the strange recent patch that seems to avoid the issue. Since there appears to be no hope of NOG providing the service paid for, I have also, reluctantly, made a complaint to Kong support.

I regret to inform you that some serious issues have arisen with the game “Dungeon Overlord” published by NightOwlGames.

A recent unannounced “update”, obviously aimed at increasing revenue have made the game more or less unplayable by radically altering the fundamental game mechanics.

Details are obvious on the forum threads, but suffice it to say that the serious issue at hand is that a vast majority of players are in more or less open revolt, demanding a rollback.

Since this is a paid game, where players such as myself spend a little real money for fun, it becomes a serious issue when payment is made for a certain product which is then altered to such a degree as to be unplayable.

Sadly, it appears that the developers ignore the requests of myself and many others to rectify the situation.

As a long time K+ member of (hopefully) good standing, who have gladly spent money supporting other games on your site with no regrets, but as good value for money, I find NOGs attitude to our complaints unacceptable and unfamiliar for a Kong developer.

At this point I would appreciate it if Kong management would look into the issue at their earliest convenience before the situation deteriorates further.

I respectfully also would like to give notice that I consider NOG in breach of implicit contract for the money I have paid through Kong for a game no longer provided.

Lastly two minor issues that I do not think adhere to Kong standards:

- The “Support” link provided on the game page requires personal information in order to be able to lodge a support request. This is obviously not OK. I’m logged in on Kong, that should allow me to contact game support.

- The “User Agreement” next to the support link refers to some other site called “Facebook” and claims that users enter into nonsensical implicit agreements with NOG as well as this obscure site. You may want them to change that :)

Sincerely Yours, (etc)

Thanks for all of the feedback and for everyone who took the time to express their opinions, on all elements of yesterday’s Update, and Dungeon Overlord in general. It’s very valuable, and as the team reviews it, it will definitely give them a solid idea of player sentiment.

As discussed yesterday, we have done another pass on the Resource requirements for Upgrading Rooms. This should be adjusted this morning or early afternoon. This is just the first of potential changes. More details on that will be coming later.

Thank you for sharing your feelings on this issue, Pellets. Your response is very much appreciated.

But even if one may cherish the comfort of knowing that your team will review our feedback, some prompt action such as a rollback would be a good thing. “Another pass on the Resource requirements” isn’t the issue.

Unplayability, and breach of implicit contract is. Please fix it.

They should fix the bugs. There are plenty of those to deal with before they need to change the game mechanics.

I agree with Sharkhunter.

This is unbearable, and not the product for which I have paid. I’ll go with the Friday deadline to give NOG the opportunity to come to their senses and rollback, rather than stick to the lame excuses, but I do expect prompt attention to this very serious issue.

Failing adequate response from NOG, I would suggest we inform Kong management that they may want to look into this issue before filing chargeback requests with our respective c/c issuers. Kong as far as I can tell are not the party to blame and they hold the merchant account. In my experience they are very keen to maintain their reputation and good standing with the gaming community and have dealt with similar issues promptly in the past.

First, to start on a positive note: I like this game. That is, the game as it was until the recent “update”. And I don’t mind spending a few bucks supporting the developers in exchange for some fun. It also had flaws. Memory leaks, unimplemented features. Glitches. No prob. Still fun.

But this “update” is way beyond the pale. Please take a deep breath and try to see that you have driven your user base, and especially the top players, whom you would expect to also be responsible for some cash flow, into what amounts to a howling rage. Not good.

Others have stated the major technical issues, so I won’t repeat them. But I will say that I expect prompt action on the more serious issue. These are NOT bug fixes. They are fundamental redesigns of major game mechanics in this game, which is your product, and for which you charge payment in real money.

I will not write to your support on this matter, since I really do not judge it to be a support issue. But I will expect you to rectify the actual problem at your earliest convenience. Said problem being that the product I paid for as late as yesterday has suddenly changed into something else, of obviously inferior value in my judgement, and for which I would not have been prepared to pay, had I been given due notice at the time of purchase.

If you do not feel that the user response is relevant, or that an urgent rollback is called for, there is really nothing I can do other than vote with my feet. But I am an incurable optimist, so I hope that Other Game that was fun will soon be available again.

This has been boring for a long time already, and great disappointment in aiwents lies of “…game only starting..” and promised expansion.
With you gone, there is very little fun left. Oh, I know! I’ll rate it down to one star before I quit too :)

All the best, boss! I’ll miss you. Hope to see you again some day!

The game is rather disappointing at lvl 100+. The silly bugs, like Barrack upgrade doing NOTHING etc are annoying to the point where I feel my enthusiasm for the game diminish rapidly.

I´m amazed that Aiwent haven´t attended to these issues, since it ought to be in their best interest to make sure that the top players, who by definition must have spent at least some real money on buying gold, don´t become disillusioned and leave the game.
