Testing Movie Without Saving
There is an option in the preferences under edit, that says something like, “Automatically save files on run”, or something like that.
It only marginally works in the fact that it won’t save .as files, but it will save the main movie that you are running.

Shoot!/Kongregate Labs FAQ and Discussion
If you’re going to enter the contest, I think you should try to stay within the reasonable possibility that the game was started using the tutorials. Making a full scale RPG just goes against the intentions of the contest. You might as well just enter it in the normal weekly contest.

Reccomending Something
Yeah. Making the game is hard enough, but making it multiplayer would take a large team of people, as well as money for the server.

I’m guessing that he has an older mouse, otherwise he wouldn’t be using control click.

how we know if a professional create a new account and publish a game like a noobie?
We don’t. It’s open to almost everyone, but the contest is to encourage new people to get into game development.

Any free version of flash?
First off, check Academic Superstore if you’re a student. You can get Flash CS3 for $247.
Otherwise, here’s a link to almost every free Flash alternative. http://www.osflash.org/projects
Namely, I would try FlashDevelop, as it seems to be the most popular.

You should make your own if you plan to enter the contest, but I believe the graphics for the tutorial game are in the source code files.

I’m really not sure. I’d like to know that too, since “following the tutorial” is pretty unspecific", and playing hundreds of copies of the same game will get boring.

There is no Adobe Body that I know of. The main programs that you can use for the contest are Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, and FlashDevelop. Anything that can export to an .swf will work, but those are your best bets.

I agree. While AS2 is much slower, it is a lot easier to learn and understand when you are first coming into programming, because you do not have to deal with classes, and can get the basics of ActionScript down first.

I understand, but you should take it up with one of the Kong admins, I don’t really have a say in whether you can bypass the rules.

I believe it should, though the Shootorials do not use the same program, so some of the instructions and tools would differ. The code would stay the same though.

Not sure what you mean by body, but it can be Flash MX 2004 or higher. (Any program that supports ActionScript 2)

Rules clarification: Uploaded vs Published
The Contest is open to individuals 13 years of age or older, have not previously uploaded a game on Kongregate, have Internet access, a valid email account, all as of October 1, 2008.
The rules state that if you have uploaded a game after October 1, 2008, you can still participate, not before.

There’s really no way to really tell how experienced the developer is.

Go to Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts, to edit the Hotkeys for flash.
Specifically, in the Keyboard Shortcuts window, the actions panel hotkey is in the Drawing Menu Commands under Window>Development Panels.

I’m not sure. Under the current rules, you cannot enter, because you had programming experience. The contest is aimed more towards people just starting off, but you might talk to someone in charge of the contest if your submission has been deleted.

Generally, the limit that you cannot enter if you’ve uploaded a game before is so that experienced programmers with multiple games out can enter. Since there isn’t a way to find out whether or not someone is experienced or not, they have to use the number of games uploaded to reflect the experience of the developer.
The tutorials work fine as long as you have Flash 8 or higher, so yes.

So, are the only rules for eligibility that you have not submitted a game? I never submitted a game, but I’m not a beginning programmer. Could I still submit one, or would that be sort of like cheating?

Little League Baseball
I can see a lot of parents trying to sue after their 9 year old kid gets hit by a 40-60 mph fastball. A 8-10 year old kid could be knocked out cold if he was hit by it, so I can see why they wouldn’t let him play in the younger league.

Animals go to heaven/nirvana etc?
If they are good loving animals they will make it to heaven. If their are animals who have been corrupted by Satan I am not sure if they would make it to heaven or not I guess that could be another tale. (Animals can be corrupted by Satan)
So what if the “good” poisonous spiders and insects go to heaven? Surely they are being as good as they can be, since they must poison and kill to survive. If they do in fact go to heaven, what would they eat?
